I watch live when I can. I really liked this weeks episode. I could have done without the entire "The Talk" subplot. I don't care, if you two want to date, it's a TERRIBLE idea, but whatever.
I think the giving of Lucy to Phineas is to prepare to put Gibbs back in the field. We won't "worry" about Lucy being home alone while Gibbs is out and about catching bad guys.
Killing folks all on a chance that Phineas is a bone marrow donor is really not bright. As a two time marrow donor the amount of pre-donation testing and prep was amazing and very extensive. That being said I'm glad the writers brought something this important to the fore front.
I did like the bad guy breaking in and looking at the boat in awe and wondering the age old question, how does he get it out.
I thought the little hidey hole in the closet was interesting, where did he get the extra space?? nifty little grenade hidey hole. Wonder what other changes Gibbs has made. Apparently he now has Wi-Fi at the house since he has a working iPad.
All the unread mail didn't sit right with me. It looked messy and for a man who irons his own shirts I just can't picture him leaving mail laying out and about.
Could that kitchen be any smaller?? How did Shannon ever prepare a meal?

I read, I watch, I like to see the gradings, they are least make it worth being a member. I don’t feel comfortable posting what I think, mainly because of the negative posts every week. I would like to take the time to thank llyan for posting the info updates week on week. I really appreciate it and at times with most comments, it must be soul destroying. I hear you say, “well post your thoughts then” but if the negative ones shout louder then it feels like bullying. NCIS is a drama TV show, that I escape to for 45 minutes a week, well 40 minutes this week, does it have to be true to life for me, no it doesn’t, does it have to make sense to me, no it doesn’t, do I have to like every scene or character, no I don’t especially after 18 seasons. If you are ready, or past ready, to let it go, then go, I am still happy to watch it as an entertaining 45-40 mins escape. Maybe it helps that I am not American.
Going back to my Witness Protection now.

The avalanche of negative comments here is discouraging, and for a time, the negative responses to the few positive comments were past the line of bullying. Which is why I stopped posting for a time, and still don't post often.
While I don't always like the individual episodes all the time, over all I understand it's a TV show, and I'm still entertained most of the time. So yes, I still watch live when I can, stream when I can't. And I still ask for the DVD set each Christmas.

To those of you feeling reluctant to share your feelings on this board because you might feel bullied - I am so sorry! This is supposed to be a place of free expression for fans of the show. If you are bullied - I will stand up for you - I promise! I personally still am a huge fan of the show. Yes, I will sometimes disagree on some things (as an attorney I had to repeat "this is not a documentary" to myself during the courtroom scene last week), but I still am a fan of the show and discuss the show offline with folks.
I loved this week's show. Using Phineas as a narrator to confront all of the questions everyone has about Gibbs - the loneliness, does he miss work, did he love Sloane, etc., was great. I was sad that Gibbs gave away Lucy, because, yes, that man needs a dog, but Lucy will be happier with Phineas. I wonder about my own pup's happiness as, although she hangs out with me all day, she hangs out with me in my office while I am at my desk, working.
The scene where the intruder admires the boat and says in Arabic "how does he get it out" was LOL funny! I still want to know what kind of boat that is. It is absolutely gorgeous!
The "B" plot also covered what a lot of fans are wondering. Bishop and Torres aren't an item yet - but they are thinking about it. I thought for a second Ellie was going to stop the elevator - ala Gibbs, but shutting the elevator door right when she was starting to talk to Nick was a great directorial choice, IMHO. Since she said it started in the jail cell, it appears to me that her feeling started much later than Nick's.
I guess I should post more to encourage the rest of you all to post. There is an overabundance of negative voices on the board. I will be one of the positive ones. Cheers!

first off, I stand corrected! I’ve been calling Gibbs’ “fur baby” “Ruby” - but it’s “Lucy”! oh well, at least I got 2 out of the 4 letters in her name right... 😊 she is such a sweet dog, isn’t she? I do wonder if hot dogs 🌭 are good for her, tho... 🤔 I know they’re definitely not good for me, but I eat them anyway! 😋
what a good actor Jack Fisher is - he’s a natural! he really sounded like a young man who was worried about his life - how it was and what it will be for him in the future... good job, kid!
now, about “the talk”:
~~ OMG! could Palmer be any more irritating!? he’s regressed to that goofy, grinning doofus of days past - and he is not amusing! I guess being a widower and father to a young daughter has not done much to advance his maturity process, has it?
~~ so, Bishop & Torres really are involved, eh? oddly enough that doesn’t bother me at all... there is absolutely no comparison [in their relationship] to the Tiva that got shoved down our throats for season after season - ad nauseam!! writing Palmer and Kasie like a couple of nosey high schoolers was annoying as hell! 😖 definitely could have done without those two “butt-inskies”!
o.k. - last thought: I’m not sure I’m happy that they wrote LJG passing Lucy on to Phineas... Lucy was something that a man like Gibbs needs in his life... heck, even I got attached to her - just watching her these past few weeks! Phineas could get his own dog - a 🐶 of his very own to ❤️...
Yes, the "Talk" talk was the reason I downgraded this episode. If they don't think they are involved, then they aren't. As for Lucy being passed to Phineas... I found that as giving Phin something of Jethro Gibbs' to hold onto to... And, possibly, the signal that Gibbs is ready to give up his home life and get back to beating up slimeballs and tricking con-men into confessing...

It saddens me that people feel that cannot share their opinions on this board. I know I may not enjoy the series anymore, and I do not like many things that have happened in recent years, however, I know many people still enjoy the series. I am not bothered by people posting positive comments/opinions. I like that their are people who have opinions here, and it is disheartening to me that people who do enjoy the series feel as though they cannot state them because of the negative ones. There are many things I used to enjoy about NCIS myself, however, those are all from years past. I again, like that people have the ability to post both opinions here, I think it can be a good thing to have that balance. Many places on social media are not always that way. I do not visit social media sights that often for NCIS, but I do have a handful I enjoy because of the people behind the accounts, and to remember the times from yesteryear that we liked about the series. There are many places though where negative opinions are ridiculed, and those that post them receive a firestorm of dislike and hate. It saddens me that people feel as though they cannot post their opinion because of how they will be treated. I am sorry to those who feel like they cannot post their opinion because of those of us who do not have positive opinions. Even if I do not agree with everyone I DO enjoy reading their opinions. I am sorry to anyone who feels as though they cannot post because of how the comment will be received. As adults I think we should be able to post our opinions, and also discuss or even debate a topic respectfully.
Again, I am sorry to anyone who feels as though they cannot post how they feel about an episode or the series as a whole. I know that there are many people on both sides: those who still enjoy the series, and those who either no longer enjoy it, or do not enjoy it as much as they did in the past. It saddens me to know/hear that people are apprehensive to post because of those who have the opposite opinion.

Mission accomplished!!
I wanted to generate some activity on this board with my post regarding lack of episode comments/opinions - and it worked!
first off, let me say that I, too, feel bad when some of you wrote that you felt bullied, and are hesitant to post anything good or positive about NCIS... if you had me in mind when you wrote that, I sincerely apologize! when I post my comments - formerly known as “critiques” - about episodes, I realize they are more negative than positive... I do like parts of the show, but being the Realist that I am, it’s really hard to be positive about some of the far out plot lines or things that the characters do... I even quit watching the show for a while, swearing I would never watch it again - but I just got pulled back a few months ago... what I write is never, ever, never intended to put down any of NCIS’s true blue fans...
I realize it’s a cop out to blame my curmudgeonly remarks on my alter-ego Maxine, but she says things I hesitate to say sometimes...(no, I’m not crazy! Maxine and I have been “friends” for a very long time!) again, I’m sorry if I offended any of you!
this NCIS Break Room blog was created (by llyan and NewBe) for everyone of us “refugees” from the old IMDb board, so you should write whatever you want, whenever you want...
actually, I’m quite proud of the people who post on this board; we’re a good bunch! we avoid any discussion of politics and/or religion, and I do not recall any “flame wars” ever happening here, which seemed to happen often on the old IMDb board...
o.k. - I hope that clears things up...
and if you read anything that offends or angers you, just remember Maxine said it - not me! 😉

I hadn't posted because I just now got the chance to watch the episode. I liked the stuff about Finneas, but could definitely have done without the Bishop-Torres soap opera. I used to watch 70's Show here and there but not regularly. I'm wondering if the "do you remember when I asked you about ______?" bit came from there. I don't recall ever seeing it, but seems like something Hyde would definitely do to Fez and Eric. I really wanted to like that lady doctor at the hospital, but that was a really huge HIPPA violation with what she told Gibbs. A first year med student should know better than that.
And nas: you weren't all that far off. It's Lucy in the sky with diamonds and not Ruby Tuesday, but it's all from the same four insects.

thanx, bobinwhereveryouare... that makes me feel better...
kaschu also said something similar: if Phinneas has Lucy now, we won’t worry about her being left home alone when Gibbs inevitably goes back to catching (and beating up) the bad guys... nas

Thank you for the positive replies. I was a bit worried when I posted. Nas and I both get our wishes, more posting and we can say how we see an episode with a freedom. It cannot be easy for writers to please everyone all the time, especially in such a short season and episode time, still not got over the fact that this episode according to my download was 40 mins and a few seconds. Add in the credits beginning and end, the story was done in around 37-38 minutes. I would like some real NCIS agency storylines about boats and on board boats or accidents on base. Terrorists and foreign agents are becoming boring. I came to NCIS via the JAG episodes but Yankee White grabbed me, the too and fro between Gibbs and Kate, Tony and Kate, Abby when she was different but not annoying as she became, Tom Morrow, who had Gibbs number and Ducky, if David wasn’t as old as he is, Ducky is probably the least changed and still loved.

I have not watched the episode yet so I can't comment on it .... I rarely watch live or same night.
I feel bad about anyone who feels uncomfortable to express an opinion, since really this is all about opinions.
I still watch NCIS, although I can say I am not anywhere near as invested or don't have the level of enthusiasm I had years ago. Some episodes I enjoy and some are mediocre. Every once in a while they knock it out of the park (Arizona at the end of last season). I enjoy coming to the boards still and reading the posts - whether I agree with them or disagree as long as they aren't mean spirited. I enjoy keeping up with "board buddies" that I have had now for 10+ years from the old boards.

Hey all. Just wanted to chime in. Frankly I haven't been posting much because I'm just too darn busy with work. Working from home with the pandemic has been a blessing and a curse at times. We're currently understaffed on my project which basically means I need to work more to meet deadlines. Working from home has been a blessing since I don't have to exert mental energy to commuting and being around people, but that just means I work more since I only have to commute 30 feet to my spare bedroom. (10-12 hour days aren't uncommon but there was an 18 hour day once when we were trying to submit a plan set.) By the time I'm done for the day, I'm done for the day. If I can't squeeze a post in during my day, it doesn't get posted.
Having said that, I did enjoy this episode. It wasn't action packed but on a second viewing, I really enjoyed the slow build up. I'm glad that Lucy is going to be with Phineas and I agree with whoever it was that said this is likely a precursor to Gibbs returning to work. I like McGee as a team lead and thought he did well on the last couple of cases without Gibbs. I certainly could have done without the Bishop and Torres anvils but I have a feeling that whatever is coming certainly doesn't mean they get a happily ever after. It certainly seems like Bishop has been working with Odette and I sincerely doubt that is going to lead to good things.

The episode was okay. I could have done without the Torres - Bishop bit but every show feels the need to ship characters ....
I have really mixed feelings about this, it is my strongest emotions about the episode... My initial thoughts were the same as you nas - Gibbs needs the dog, and I felt bad that the dog was passed to a new home.
But for Phineas it was the best possible way to help him. It was something of Gibbs. A dog is stability and so much emotional comfort. And Lucy was attached to Phineas. And when Gibbs ultimately goes back to work it would be hard on the dog.
That said I really really enjoyed the dog. I work in a Pediatric office, the doctors daughter lives upstairs and had a rescue pit bull that was one of the smartest, most sensitive dogs I have ever met. She was totally dedicated to her owner, but when she was at work the dog knew when we had no patients and would always try to sneak down and hang out with us. Once we had a little girl in a total meltdown. The doctor, who had great interpersonal skills and is great with kids could not do anything with her. He went upstairs and got the dog and she calmed the child down. She died recently and other than Lucy being grey and Brooke being brown they were so similar. I will miss seeing Lucy...

good thoughts, llyan...
Bishop has an ex-husband, Jake Malloy, and a murdered fiancé, Qasim Nasir, in her past - so it’s anyone’s guess how a romantic relationship with Torres will go...
however, NCIS never writes “happy endings” to any of the characters relationships... they either end due to a very unhappy break-up, insanity, or death! can you think of one character in this show that didn’t have a relationship end with one of those? even McGee’s happy relationship was marred when his wife became a paraplegic as the result of a “kaboom!!” ahh, but the series isn’t over yet, so if I was Margo Harshman I wouldn’t be too comfortable in the role of Delilah... same goes for Emily Wickersham and Wilmer Valderrama; once they get “involved” it’s a good bet that one of ‘em is gonna’ go...
there’s a whole Season 19 for the writers to come up with a way to mess up this between Nick & Ellie - or “NickEl”, as bobinvalencia called them... so, stay tuned, folks! 😀
