Good Episode. Thought Katrina did a good job with her part. I think she and Nick have good chemistry together, might make things interesting for future story lines. I think we learned what rule 91 is, but I'm not sure if what I heard from the preview is accurate, so I'll hold my judgement on that one.
Thought they did a better job with Pam and Mark this week, though you have to admit they have to show the main story mostly, so.
Over all a pleasing watch tonight.

A rare C from me, they're really dragging the Gibbs thing out too much and it's getting to be an overplayed arc. Knight is decent enough an agent, but I hope she doesn't actually pick up that full-timer option for next season. They tried the "extra agent" thing before with Quinn and it was too crowded. At least with Jack, she wasn't a MCRT agent and wasn't cluttering the bullpen.

stopped watching just long enough to say I think LJG & Marcie have greattt chemistry together! could there be a future for them - in the show OR outside of it?😂
❤️ PD’s hair, too! she called it “covid blonde” in one of her interviews...
I’ll write more later - or not!

e-t-a: just a few too many plot holes for me to enjoy this episode past my initial comments about Gibbs & Marcie... ~ exactly why did Withers “whack out” and take his girlfriend hostage, when they were only there to serve a warrant? nice guy, huh? threatening to kill the g’friend to avoid being taken in... ~ isn’t it amazing that Knight just happens to see a bottle of prenatal vitamins in the grocery bag, while she just conveniently takes a “water break” during her 47.5 minute negotiation? ~ re the explosion itself: 1) if Madden was wearing the vest, an explosion massive enough to totally demolish the house, would not have left much of him... you don’t have to use much imagination to know there would not have been enough body left for Knight to talk to down in the morgue - or for Palmer to do much of an autopsy on... just sayin’ 2) the whole house comes down in a fiery Kaboom!!!, and Knight comes out with a scratch on her neck and a slight headache? she looked as fresh as a daisy in the hospital! no other cuts on her face? no other breaks or bruises? lucky her!
and she tells Palmer she feels guilty because she left her team; how - and where - did she exit the house? the pile of rubble that McGee found her in appeared to be inside of the house...
~ the plot line seems familiar, too: the “bad military man” did it for $$$...
~ I, too, don’t think Katrina Law would add much to the show as a regular in S19; she would be another “5th wheel”, imo...
o.k. - that’s enuf on that subject...
now about LJG & Marcie: ~ I still think they’re cute together... how could I not? this is a couple that’ve been together for decades irl - they obviously work well together... ~ pretty ballsy of Marcie to tell Gibbs to take off his shoes when she’s wearing what appear to be ankle high Doc Martens herself! 😂 ~ when did Gibbs become such a slob when he eats? the way he was attacking that sandwich was disgusting... 😖

Not blown away either. Too much like the Paula Cassidy episodes. Did enjoy the Marcie & Gibbs parts. Bit off that she kept her boots on but made Gibbs take his off. Nice apartment, one would hope they did not spend all that money on a set for it not to be used more than this episode. The new woman, probably due to her wardrobe style, reminded me of Angie Harmon in R&I. Mention of her “family” dying, did they not go with her being married and having a child in the end? Or did I misread that they were having that? I also want Gibbs back as an agent and quickly, please. That does not mean I want Marcie gone, I’d like her to be a sounding board for Gibbs. I thought Jess was going to turn round at the funeral and look at Gibbs. Story was a hash of at least three previous stories and very obvious from the outset who the guilty parties were. Probably why the Gibbs/Marcie bit was more interesting and fun. Brian was very good again. I hope when NCIS ends he finds other work and is not typecast.

yep, you remembered correctly, mchnelson! here’s the article from TV Line:
nary a mention of baby - or hubby! instead they wrote her as “single and sassy”...
actually, I was not too keen on how she waltzed into the office, attempted to take over Gibbs’ desk, and picked up the baseball bat with no consideration about who it might belong to... frankly, I thought that was rather rude... 😠

It was Ziva all over again, taking Kate's desk. Do you think they will dare have her tell the team that Gibbs won't mind? I have a flashback to Fornell sitting in his desk.

This is an episode that I wanted to like more than I did. Part of the problem was that I figured out "whodunit" early (and BTW they were on the roof; what happened to Gibbs' little hideaway up there?). Not a big fan of the new girl and hope she doesn't stay around. I think it's disrespectful of Bishop's character (and of the actress) that they keep trying to add another female to the cast instead of push Bishop to the fore. Oh, well, on to next week's finale-good, bad, or indifferent.

I found this episode interesting, but not compelling. It pretty much followed formula. We were introduced to the antagonist(s) early (I figured the CEO from the moment I saw him, but not the team leader), Knight's character was pretty much right out of the "tough agent handbook", but I did like the negotiation between her an Tim about helping. But, how could she not know it was Gibb's desk? Kacie and Jimmy came up with the crucial evidence to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. What interested me more was the "B" story - the case Marcie is working on and finally got Gibbs to work on. Figuring out the serial killer case. Of course the home repair geek in me wondered was it really red duct tape or the really expensive red house wrap tape. It was odd that Marcie, a seasoned investigative reporter, was put off by the photos. I found the banter between them humorous, and i would like to see more of Marcie on the show. Gibbs and Marcie do have chemistry I don't think Katrina Witt would be a good addition to the show. They don't need another agent.

I don't think Katrina Witt would be a good addition to the show. They don't need another agent. Still not clear in how many episodes MH will be in, it's still not negoitiated Not posting the full article as this is the only relevant NCIS information in it. But link included Snagging jessielee 's quote from another thread, this whole thing makes me think that they're setting up Gibbs to be a part time character with the show and that they're setting things up to move Tim into the lead investigator role. Agent Knight is then going to be the new junior agent on the team. The way they introduced her, they made sure to know that she was recruited straight out of FLETC to REACT. Thus she has spent her career in the field and she's never really been in the office. She wasn't even mentioned as one of the agents 'seen in the break room.' (Which would also explain why she didn't know that she was sitting at Gibbs' desk.)
I agree that she was set up as straight from the 'tough agent handbook' but I think that she's more bark than bite. She caved to Tim and was even on the verge of caving to the Director before he agreed that she could handle herself. I think when it comes to action, she's gung ho but maybe not so much on the investigative side. I know it's tough to introduce a new character without a bunch of info dump exposition, but I think that Katrina brought some nice nuance and vulnerability to the character within the limited framework she was given in this one episode.nary a mention of baby - or hubby!
instead they wrote her as “single and sassy”...
Two thoughts on this one. They might not have had time to mention the husband and child during this episode. Between the case of the week, introducing the new character and getting the Gibbs/Marcie story moving, they may just have skipped that bit of information to avoid too much of a character exposition dump. It's also very possible that they changed the character backstory after they hired Katrina Law. That's been known to happen. I'm fairly sure that Bishop turned out different than the initial character blurbs that was reported when Emily was first cast.

I’m inclined to believe they rewrote the Knight character, llyan...
with all the screentime she had, for her not to have mentioned a husband OR a baby is just too weird...
there were several scenes where a short sentence by her would have/could have brought them into existence... something like, when Bishop & Torres first went to the hospital while she was planning her “escape”, she could have said, “I just got off the phone with my husband; the baby misses me, but he’s fine.” but nothing like that was said - she never alluded to personal family of any kind... in fact, she told McGee, “My family’s gone.” referring to the team she lost in the explosion...
so, yeah, I’m gonna go with the “rewrite”... of course, this is all a moot point if she doesn’t become a regular in Season 19, isn’t it?

She has two episodes to impress me. So far she's 0 for 1. (Of course the odds are she could care less whether she impresses me as long as she impresses most watchers).

nas Also, if she had the husband and infant, I would expect them to be there at the hospital making sure to be first in line to see her when a visitor was allowed (unless of course they're going to make the husband not like her job and if she gets hurt in the line of duty then he'll have no part of it). You would also expect a spouse and child to be with her at the funeral for emotional support. As far as her not being used to working in an office and having to adjust, didn't they just do that with Torres? Maybe TPTB could take a page from what they did with NCIS:LA and get rid of the actress we've never seen and make Knight the lead in Hawaii, similar to going from Lara Macy to Hetty. I think I heard that Katrina Law might have done some work in Hawaii before...🐱🐱🐱

I am just catching up on the last two episodes tonight ...
I like it too! Very realistic - I kinda got a jump on growing my grey out before the pandemic....
Yes I agree.
I actually enjoyed the episode. Was it the best I have ever seen? No. But I did enjoy it ...
I think this is a possibility. I liked Katrina Law in the episode. Of course I do see a little more room for her now after seeing spoilers from the last episode...
This would work too!
