With good metalworking equipment and talent, one can make almost anything, so the gunsmithing did not surprise me - but the scale of the operation was a bit optimistic at best.
I did read on the SpoilerTV message boards that Jon Michael Hill was going to be on another series - but that series was not named. nor do I have any indication as to the veracity of that post. He will be missed. I guess I don't have a good understanding as to what the US Marshal's Service does, as I would think that moving there would be a waste of Bell's keen investigative skills. Wouldn't he be better off taking the Sergeant's exam and working his way towards Captain? I would agree. However I looked up the United States Marshal Service and found this."Introduction
As America’s first federal law enforcement agency, the United States Marshals Service (USMS) is considered the nation’s police force. The USMS protects the judicial process; the cornerstone of American democracy. Providing federal judicial security; apprehending fugitives and non-compliant sex offenders; securing and transporting federal prisoners from arrest to incarceration; executing federal court orders; seizing and managing assets acquired through illegal means; and assuring the safety of endangered government witnesses and their families is our mission. The USMS uses this influence and reach gained through its accomplished history and broad authority to collaborate with other federal, state, local, and international law enforcement agencies, as well as with concerned citizens and members of the judiciary, to form a united front against crime.
Mission
To protect, defend and enforce the American justice system.
Vision
A world class law enforcement agency—unified in our mission and workforce; professional and agile, with modernized tools and capabilities; strategically building upon our status as a trusted partner by achieving the highest levels of effectiveness, efficiency, safety and security. "The Marshal's Service has a female director, Stacia A. Hylton, a strategic plan, an organizational chart and they do investigate crimes.Goal 2: Investigations (part of their strategic plan)
Performance Goals:
Increase non-compliant sex offender investigations
Increase the percent of felony USMS federal fugitives apprehended or cleared
Increase egregious state and local case adoption
Maximize net proceeds to the Assets Forfeiture Fund
DOJ Strategic Objective 2.1: Combat the threat, incidence, and prevalence of violent crime.
DOJ Strategic Objective 2.2: Prevent and intervene in crimes against vulnerable populations; uphold the rights of, and improve services to America’s crime victims.
DOJ Strategic Objective 2.3: Disrupt and dismantle major drug trafficking organizations to combat the threat, trafficking, and use of illegal drugs and the diversion of licit drugs.
DOJ Strategic Objective 3.1: Promote and strengthen relationships and strategies for the administration of justice with law enforcement agencies, organizations, prosecutors, and defenders through innovative leadership and programs.
DOJ Strategic Objective 3.5: Apprehend fugitives to ensure their appearance for federal judicial proceedings or confinement. I would agree that Bell would do well to take the sergeants exam and work his way up to Captain, and possibly Deputy Director of some department. But as I've stated before, everyone probably went into this season believing it would be their last. Hall's agent probably found him a new gig and they started this exit strategy for him. After last season's debacle with the Sunday night schedule, and a 11th hour renewal for 13 episodes to run after the season was over, then extended to 22, who could blame them for this kind of thinking. I doubt anyone imagined they would be renewed for next year before the episodes they shot for this year were even shown.
It's a smart move for Mr. Hall, but he will be missed next year.
For those of you who have stated that you don't watch the show, I would encourage you to give it a chance, if you stopped watching awhile back, it's worth giving another chance. With just 4 main characters, the relationships are much deeper than NCIS relationships, and therefore much more fulfilling. As for the crimes of the week, there really aren't any shows that shoot 20+ episodes in nine months that can really give high quality scripts for that many shows. Let's face it, they all are weak at times.

Who Really Killed Michael?
My guess - The husband of the guy Michael killed - William Bazemore.

Who Really Killed Michael?
My guess - The husband of the guy Michael killed - William Bazemore. Bazemore killed himself by OD, that's why Michael attacked Joan, he blamed her for Bazemore's OD. I started to suspect Hanna about midway through the show, when Sherlock thought the FBI agent did it.
Very intense shows the past few weeks, very well done.
Did not see that ending coming.
I think they figured this would be the last season when they shot everything. Now it will be interesting to see where they take the series from here.

I didn’t see that end coming either, pd, but I loved it!
🤔 is there going to be another season after this? last night was the Season 6 finale episode, so if there is no Season 7 that final scene with Sherlock and Joan was a perfect ending! perfect!

Yes, there will be another season. They renewed the show just as they started airing Elementary after the regular shows finished their seasons. I believe that the producers went into this season believing it to be their last, which is why they brought in so many guest stars from previous seasons. I think it is also the reason the Bell decided to leave and why they ended the season the way they did.
Now to see how they handle the story from here on out. Will they stay in London? Will Sherlock be allowed back into the US? Will the snotty FBI agent get what she deserves for being so target fixated on Joan? Will we get to see Natalie Dormer again as Moriarty? Now that Sherlock has declared his love for Joan and Joan's love for him, as only Sherlock could do, will they or won't they? Interesting that they moved Joan into 221A and not with Sherlock in 221B. Nicely played there.
Now I have to wait for this regular season to end so I can watch the mini-season of Elementary starting in May.

all good points/questions, pd, but you threw me when you wrote:
wasn’t last night’s episode the end of their “regular season”, which started in April, 2018? now you’re confusing me...

You're right, there were 21 episodes. I was under the impression it would be a shortened 13 episode season, being an end of year series this year. (I need to check IMDb more often) Goes to show you can get 21 episodes shown in 21 weeks, if you put your mind to it. It will make getting the DVD well worth it.

yep, pd, it’s really refreshing to be able to watch all 21 episodes in 21 weeks!
I really dislike the shows (like NCIS) that do the “watch 2 or 3 episodes - then get 2 re-runs”, so they can fill in a 36 week season... it frustrates and annoys me... 😕

I just got to see it last night. I really did not see Hannah as the killer. That whole story line blindsided me. But, it was a great way to end the series. I wonder if the London scenes were filmed after they got word of the renewal? Next season will be very interesting. Sherlock was looking forward to the "family unit". They admitted that they loved each other. I really don't think they will go back to NYC. That door is closed.

Saw the first five minutes of Bull Monday night. Already missing Elementary.
Two simple scenes can easily be written that would open the door to them coming back. I could write them in less than half a day. The writers could do it in less than ten minutes. Also, they get paid to do that.

I’m surprised it went as long as it did, pd...
with all the scheduling changes it went thru over the years it was really hard to keep up with what time and day it aired... it was as if TPTB were purposely trying to torpedo this show...😕
I wonder how the last 13 episodes will play out... 🤔 I’ll watch it - if I can find it!
