you do make a good point, NewBe, but at this point her presence is still mostly redundant and, for the most part, unnecessary...
maybe Frank & George should write her with something more to do without making the rest of the NCIS cast look like they forgot how to do their jobs...

Franks: I nearly missed him when I sneezed but I did miss what he said to Gibbs as Gibbs was walking away from his desk. Did Gibbs say anything to him? "Well Probie, was she wrong? [Gibbs smiling] 'cus hearing voices, seeing dead people, I don't know. [Gibbs turns head in that direction] Psychic seems like the better option than the alternative." [Gibbs gets up and walks away as he's talking without ever actually looking at Franks]
Gibbs continued smiling, but never made any true indication that he noticed Franks there talking.

David cut way back this season and might very well exit with Pauley at the end of the season. Having someone in place to do the "profiling" is a good management decision. Add the character now so it's not so startling (adding 2 new with the previously added Reeves) as Season 14. Get into a rhythm with writing Jack, getting a feel for who she is, is smart and I think it comes from Frank & George writing for the show for the previous 14 years.
K ate started off as the "profiler", then she died, then Ducky got his degree in "forensic profiling" and provided a similar service for the team. As stated above, with David cutting back his hour drastically, adding a character with the skills of a "profiler" does seem prudent. And as NewBe stated above, bringing her on now gives the writers the opportunity to flesh out the character before David decides to hang up the grease paint for good.
As I stated in Maria's forum, I'm not that fond of the character, and I'm not sure she meshes well with the team right now. However, after seeing she and David in their scene together I must say I would love to see them work together more. Somehow, and this does happen sometimes, two actors hit is off and the chemistry is terrific. David and Maria seem to have that connection. I've thoroughly enjoyed their scenes and find them a wonderful acting duo.

Do you know what Franks said to Gibbs? Hopefully it was: Just dropped in one last time to say; I'm happy to be with my son. Take care, "Probie".

Soooo....
Was Gibbs admitting he has severe mental health issues by seeing Ol' Shoot Em' Up and having that rather poignant conversation at the end?
Or, was that scene meant to be the show waving at the fourth wall?
Either way, GIBBS GET HELP.

While McGee should be more cooperative, he has valid points. Though it's getting late in the game now, knowing the gender makes it easier to prepare. And as someone with a few cousins in the birthing years I'm not a big fan of the buying all gender neutral things in gender neutral colors for gifts. Add on the possibility several people in the poll thread are favoring of twins and they could be caught being short a crib and a car seat, not to mention you'd want to have the two seat stroller. I'd be pretty sure they'd know about 2 babies but there are so few surprises in life that I'm all for not finding out.
The days of Pink for Girls. Blue for Boys. Is [thankfully] mostly over. I grew up not even liking pink so thank goodness my mom didn't dress my sister and I in it in the late 60s/early 70s.
I'm assuming, thought I hope I'm wrong, that the gender will be "accidentally" blabbed. Same thing happened on The Big Bang Theory.
My parents were told I was gonna be a boy so boy (pun intended) weren't they surprised when I turned out to be a girl. My name was going to be Robert.
