I notice Mark Harmon is still listed in the #1 spot on REGULAR CAST
is that his way of saying:

Gary Cole is also still listed as FBI Agent Parker, so take that as you will.
As they always say, they didn't kill off Gibbs so there's always a chance that he'll be back. I get the feeling that he's going to remain listed as a cast member just like David is listed even though he's no longer in every episode.

me thinks somebody over at NCIS/CBS has got a little updating to do, eh? tho’ they do list D Mc simply as RECURRING CAST, which is technically correct...

nas Most likely is that Harmon's contract includes him being first billed without any mention of him needing to be in the episode.

Torres is probably still running...

The poll is up. I went with a pastry theme. It seemed appropriate.

I'll wait until he brings in some chocolate croissants. The mistrust of the new boss seems a bit overdone to me, but I guess they can't just let him slip into the roll without the team getting a little frittered. I'm sure he'll show them that just because he isn't as tart as they're used to that he isn't a cream puff...
I'd probably find the level of investigation he's doing on the team a bit creepy if I was on it, but at least he's open about what he's doing.

who doesn’t like kolachi?!?! 😋
😱 I cannot believe Kasie threw that pastry in the trash can! 😖 she should be fired for that!
o.k. story - it hurt to find out who the killer was... 😕
totally ❤️❤️ Parker! the man likes pastries - my kinda guy! 🥰
nas
eta: those in the show were kolachi cookies - looked like apricot filling... I currently have a walnut/pumpkin kolachi roll in my fridge and a poppyseed roll in my freezer! oh yeah - I have a serious sweet tooth! blame it on Maxine! she’s a bad influence... 😉

Overall it was a good episode. A few funny moments. Decent case of the week. Starting to get a feel for Agent Parker. Say what you will about Gibbs leaving, it does make it interesting to watch characters that we know very well react to a new/unknown entity such as Parker. I took some notes as I rewatched the episode tonight.
- I liked how they’re following through with the team’s reactions to Parker being made team lead. Knight had no loyalty to Gibbs, so she’s ok with him. Torres is the most openly antagonistic although he's mellowed a bit since last week. McGee isn’t against Parker but he clearly isn’t friends with him yet. It’ll be interesting to watch how their relationships to Parker change over the season.
- Knight asked how Parker heard them in the squad room, which was a nice little call back/joke about the acoustics of the squad room. I kinda like that McGee didn’t tell her. lol
- McGee knowing about headwind and tailwind javelins probably came from when he was researching one of his books where he used a javelin as a murder weapon.
- The murder caused by a blank round gave me pause given the accident on the Rust set. I know that a live round was in that gun, but before that information was released, there was a lot of discussion on how blank rounds could be just as deadly.
- The guy selling worn underwear was a weird one but I liked how the actor played him. He was far less creepy than the guy that was arrested in my neighborhood after he was caught on a security camera inside a residence. When they arrested him for burglary, they found that he had 63 pairs of women’s underwear in individual ziplock bags. *shudder*
- I liked the scene between Parker and McGee at the warehouse. It was appropriately awkward since these two men really don’t know each other just yet.
- If that was really a mechanical door, McGee would probably have more than a fractured foot.
- Theodore Parker was the ornithologist that the ‘scientist’ found. I wonder if that is his father. Scratch that. The dates on the computer screen show 4/1/1953 to 8/3/1993. Maybe a brother?
- I like Knight in interrogation. She’s got a style that’s very different from any of the other agents. The more I see of her, the more I like her.
- Kasie offering McGee a nighttime cold and flu tablet to ‘make him feel gooood’ made me laugh.
- McGee wasn’t limping when he left the elevator with Torres. Either his fracture wasn’t that bad or they forgot he was supposed to be hurt.
- If Parker is good at finding great pastries, I can appreciate that skill and I wouldn’t classify it as a useless skill either. I love me a good pastry.
- “Would you rather I only come in here to get upset and bark orders?” “A little.” “It’s what we’re used to.” That exchange made me laugh.
- I never suspected that the dad was the killer. And I certainly didn’t suspect that the dad was the source of the drugs. A truly sad and tragic reason for (unintentional) murder.

I enjoyed the episode ... a good balance with Parker in charge but McGee getting updates...
I liked the Parker McGee interaction ...
Gary Cole is transporting me back to Midnight Caller ... late 1980's - I enjoyed the show and I am enjoying him now.

this episode did nothing to upset me or piss me off... very refreshing to watch a show and be happy with it overall...
and as unreal as it seemed, there really are some people with very weird, strange, and rather creepy fetishes involving underwear... there are 7 billion people on this planet, and the wiring in some of their brains is really messed up...
as goofy as the research scientist seemed, the actress that played her did a great job - she made me laugh...
Gibbs, who? it is so refreshing to see Gary Cole as Alden Parker - complete with likable demeanor, kind words - and a box of international pastries... 😊 in a real world LJG could have/should have been accused of creating a hostile work environment... he really was a pain in the patooty most of the time! 😖
like I said earlier, the scene that revealed the person who turned out to be the killer made me very sad... 😕 that’s the only part of the episode that kind of upset me...{Spoiler Warning - Click Here} I cannot imagine a parent encouraging their child to use PEDs, but I guess that happens too, unfortunately...

To be honest, I've watched this episode three times now and I'm still not certain about my feelings or opinion about it.
On one hand, the crime of the week was a bit weak and pedestrian. And while the reveal was sad and somewhat unexpected, as a former teacher, I've dealt with my share of overbearing parents.
On the other hand, the chemistry between the team seems to have gelled quickly. I like the way the four of them work together. Which is somewhat disturbing considering how much I liked Harmon in the role of Gibbs.
Honestly, this being the first episode with the new team in place, I found myself both enjoying the episode, and disliking the case.
With that said, losing Jack, Bishop, and Gibbs is a lot for this show, but the addition of Knight and Parker seem to be working, with the transition moving much smoother than one might expect.
I'm hoping the cases get better and less boring. This one is a B- or C+, I'm not sure yet.
