in the last few days I’ve noticed a couple of posts on a few of the threads that are written by a “Guest”... they have absolutely nothing to do with the Subject matter - they are links to a very questionable product... but within a day the posts disappear...
I hope none of you are clicking on to them out of curiosity... this is a virus waiting to happen!
in fact, I’m getting nervous about posting anything on our NCIS Break Room these days...
your thoughts?

I have noticed those posts as well, but just ignore them all.

If guest posts are allowed, then anyone can put anything on the board without an account. I haven't seen these posts, but llyan is probably deleting them. Not to worry, spammers can't do anything that will affect your posting, but I certainly would recommend you only click on a link that's posted by one of us that you know. Might even be a good idea to check the number of posts the user has before clicking those links in case one of them does a lookalike name (like substituting a '1' for an 'l' to look like one of us).

While this isn't the reason I started this thread, by the way, there was another period of time a couple of days ago where I got another message of the page being down.
But for those of you who have ignored the various messages that have appeared here, this is for you.

It's ten minutes, and the second half is a repeat of the first, but you'll laugh.

Hari Seldon is correct. I've been playing whack-a-mole with the guest account who is posting links to medication of dubious origin. The board was set up so that anyone can post without an account but if those posts continue, it can be adjusted so that only members can post. In the meantime, I'll delete any spammy posts when I see them. It might be a little slower since I can't access the board on my work computer any longer but I'll get them eventually.
If you see one, you can report it to a moderator using the gear icon in the upper right corner of the post. That will put a flag on the top bar for me or any of the other moderators. If I check on the board on my phone, I'll see the flag and know there's something I've got to delete. (Deleting posts from my phone can be done easily enough.)
Edited to add: I haven't had any issues with the virus warning popping up on this site on my laptop, phone or tablet. However, I have seen that before on other sites though.

I had some time during training session today to change the permissions on our board. (Unfortunately each board must be changed individually.) I think I got everything, so hopefully there won't be anymore dubious posts.
