Wow...didn't expect that. But very happy to see NCIS still doing so well. Especially seeing in other forums stuff like, "Waaaaaa...No Gibbs...no watch!" Or "I miss <insert favorite character here> and haven't watched since!"
I mean, I miss Gibbs and DiNozzo and some of the other older favorites too. But I think Gary Cole is doing an outstanding job so far -- if anything, he has brought a breath of fresh air to the show by *NOT* being a Gibbs clone. Now, if only the writing would catch up to the talents of some of the actors.
Hope it continues to do so well. It's great after 20 years or so this show is still doing so strong in the ratings. It's seen so many changes, yet still manages to draw a decent sized audience. If it continues to do so well in the ratings, I don't see why they can't come back for another season.
Thanks for posting that info!

That gets me if they haven't watched the show since their favorite character left why post on the forum? I still watch it from time to time but barely post regarding current episodes.

Totally agree with you about Gary Cole. I think he’s doing a great job & so happy they didn’t make him Gibbs2.0. Agree with you about the writing too.

I agree. I am enjoying Gary Cole also.
I am kind of surprised but I wonder if this is a reflection on the way tv has changed. So many people watch basically streaming as opposed to network tv. Maybe its us "oldies" who gravitate towards old favorites or a certain type of show that are still watching network tv...

Yeah, I think most youngin's stream stuff these days. And don't necessarily watch it on the day it airs on TV. Plus with so much content out there now, viewership is really fragmented these days.
Being that I am in my 5th decade of life on this planet and don't have high speed internet at home, I still watch conventional cable TV. So am usually watching it live, unless I do record it to watch later.
Streaming is most likely the future. Watch whatever you want when you want. Maybe at some point when I can get 5G internet where I live I can just stream it that way. Right now don't want to give my cable company any more $$ than I have to.
Also I am guessing NCIS viewers skew older. At least I think so from so many of those drug company/Medicare supplement insurance commercials I see when it airs.

of the few shows I do watch regularly, they are all on CBS - with the exception of one, and that one is a sitcom on ABC entitled Abbott Elementary (which isn’t even on the top 25 list)…
I watch both sitcoms Young Sheldon & Ghosts, tho’ imo Young Sheldon is more “sit” than “com” these days…
none of those 3 shows use a laugh track - and that’s why I enjoy them… there is nothing more irritating than hearing canned laughter after every single line of dialogue 😖 if I start to watch a new sitcom, the minute they insert the laugh track, I just decide, “ nope, that ain’t for me!” (you don’t want to know what Maxine thinks of laugh tracks!)

Hey all. Here's the summary of episode ratings for the season. There were a total of 210 votes over the 22 episodes from 19 different people. Most episodes had 9 voters with a maximum of 12.
I used 1 to 5 for the rating system, with 1s assigned to Fs and 5s to As.
Rating Conversion:
Episode Number | Episode Name | Rating | 20x01 | A Family Matter | 2.0 | 20x02 | Daddy Issues | 3.7 | 20x03 | Unearth | 3.1 | 20x04 | Leave No Trace | 3.3 | 20x05 | The Guardian | 3.5 | 20x06 | The Good Fighter | 3.2 | 20x07 | Love Lost | 3.6 | 20x08 | Turkey Trot | 2.3 | 20x09 | Higher Education | 3.4 | 20x10 | Too Many Cooks | 3.0 | 20x11 | Bridges | 3.9 | 20x12 | Big Rig | 2.3 | 20x13 | Evil Eye | 3.2 | 20x14 | Old Wounds | 3.4 | 20x15 | Unusual Suspects | 4.0 | 20x16 | Butterfly Effect | 3.7 | 20x17 | Stranger in a Strange Land | 3.7 | 20x18 | Head Games | 2.8 | 20x19 | In the Spotlight | 3.3 | 20x20 | Second Opinion | 3.0 | 20x21 | Kompromat | 3.4 | 20x22 | Black Sky | 3.4 |
The average rating for the season 3.2 (which translates to a C+. The best rated episode was 20x15 Unusual Suspects at 4.0 and the worst rated was 20x01 A Family Matter at 2.0.
Edit: I tweaked how I calculated the average score. It didn't change the average grade, just the numbers a bit.

Sounds about right. It seemed for the most part this was an average season at best. With a few clunkers thrown in here and there.
Thanks for posting that! Appreciate it very much. Now we wait to see when the impasse between the studios and the writers will be resolved.

It's interesting when you look up a sum of the total votes though.
A | B | C | D | F | Total | 21 | 92 | 34 | 39 | 24 | 210 | 10% | 44% | 16% | 19% | 11% |
|
The bulk of the votes are in the B range. There are a few episodes that were very polarizing, which drags the average down. If creating charts wasn't such a pain, I'd list out all of the votes per each episode.

No particular problem with episode 15 as this year's best. Not a great year for episodes overall.

what a job, llyan! one would think you do this for a living! 😉
question: when you tally the votes do you see who those “19 different people” are who cast them? I guess that’s a stupid question, but I’m not exactly sure how you perform this huge task…
