It's a common trope for cop shows. It's just surprising that it took them 20 seasons to do it!

Tania Raymonde isn't my definition of a "world-renowned" actress.

Tania Raymonde isn't my definition of a "world-renowned" actress. Just took a peek and apparently she was in a season 2 episode.

He also never allowed interns & then changed his mind. Remember, in the later episodes he became the softer, kinder Gibbs. Ugh!

Maybe I am just imagining things. Or thinking of some other police-type show.
But I could have sworn this sort of plot happened in an earlier season of NCIS. It was either an actor or some sort of reality show producer who wanted to see what it was like to be on a case.
Like i said, I thought it was NCIS. But maybe it was some other show. <shrug>

that was the entire premise if the Castle series, brgjoe, unless you were thinking of just a single episode - in which case, probably every single police-type show has done it at least once…

nas Might be thinking of Model Behavior from season 3 where there was a murder connected to a reality show that was putting three models through boot camp.

Thanks for the replies.
It wasn't the reality show one. I definitely remember that one (I tend to remember the really good episodes and the really bad ones -- that one fell into the latter category).
I could have sworn I saw a scene where some actor or someone connected with a cop show wanted to tag around with a team. That both DiNozzo and Gibbs were saying it was a bad idea. But the director thought that it would give the agency some good publicity.
Maybe I just did dream it..lol.
Edit: I am no longer a Probie...woo hoo!

Are you thinking of the episode where Tony was selected to be the face of NCIS and had a photographer following him around? The shots they took at his desk were terrible and the press guy thought that an action shot would be better. Gibbs got annoyed when the photographer snapped a picture of him. They ultimately used the pictures of Gibbs on their promotional flyers. That was Season 8, Short Fuse.

Maybe that was it. Closest to what I thought I remembered anyway. Thanks!
