but what was the exact reason for Lt. Commander Turner's suicide?, i.e. who was behind it and why? Well, for the why, the last few seconds she was alive had the mystery voice from the television said she had the choice of killing herself or her daughter being killed. I believe it was concluded she chose to die. As for the who, it was either Chen or the Syrians he was betraying to save his own skin.

yes, I got all that, seldon, but what was the purpose of the her being given a choice of committing suicide or her daughter would be killed? the woman did nothing wrong! was it a matter of mind control or what?
like I said, that whole thing completely baffled me, [giveup] and I don't know if re-watching the episode would clear it up for me...

She did nothing wrong. That was the problem. She was supposed to do something wrong. She didn't so Chen (I believe) said unless "you pay for your disobedience with your life or we murder your daughter).

that really falls under the category of "soap", doesn't it, seldon? Bishop said she had to be done with it when she gave Gibbs the card she was going to give Quasim - and I hope that really is the end of that storyline! It should be the end of the storyline. I was just asking if anyone else got the pregnancy vibe before the card reveal. And to me, most of the 4th season fell under the category of 'soap'. I wasn't advocating it, just getting the vibe.

She was meant to buy the computers that would send the virus, that would overheat the thing that Chen was tied to. There were multiple things like it around and the old computers would turn them on and off very quickly and overheat causing the explosions, or that was what I got from my early morning viewing, will watch again tonight if there is nothing on UK to. Not sure if she had control of the "non-buying" of the old computers or if she was just unlucky that they cancelled the order.

It was a good episode. Showed a lot of the changed dynamic but also went back to the well.
Turner committed suicide because they were going to kill the child. She sacrificed herself. I admit I glossed over the video threat.
Bishop did the exact same thing Gibbs did, only he didn't give Pedro a choice. He took the shot. Chen had a choice. Had he waited, NCIS would've taken him in, but he thought it was the other bad guys and blew himself up. So in a way, it was different, but Gibbs understood. But that experience taught him well. It didn't bring Shannon and Kelly back and he's had to live with the consequences the rest of his life. Even bit him in the butt when the kids came after him. Hope that's not foreshadowing that Chen's associates will go after Ellie's family in Oklahoma.
But all in all a good episode.

Ellie has changed a lot since she arrived to work with Team Gibbs and since stagnation of a character isn't something I care for, I'm glad.

I did have time to rewatch and I wondered at the end, where Bishop told Chen she had phoned the Syrian and he was coming to kill Chen, if she was bluffing, not sure she was expecting Gibbs to turn up either, but then Chen heard the car, that we knew Gibbs and co were in rather than the Syrian, so he chose to kill himself. If the car had not arrived would Chen have killed himself?

I voted that it could have been worse. But you can say that about any episode, except maybe "Faith". However, it couldn't have been much worse, so. . .
There were multiple really bad scenes, one of the worse was when Vance was chewing out Bishop and Reeves, then made Reeves carry the heavy boxes out of his office to his car while he was still reprimanding him. Really a classless act.

Really a classless act. Viva la difference. Different strokes for different folks - I loved the Vance letting Reeves have it scene. It's a creative way for the big boss to let his liaison to MI-6 know he was in big trouble without just kicking him to the curb.

I didn't know whether to or roll my eyes when Bishop was explaining her hesitation at Quasim's proposal...
Bishop (not verbatim): "We've been on 104 dates and I spend 65% of my off-duty time with you - - blah, blah, blah... I'm just not ready."
seriously, she actually kept count of how many dates they had? did she use the 5-count hash mark system in her journal? and she was keeping track of the percentage of time she spent with him? wow! what a romantic!

I took it like Qasim did - she was afraid to just "feel". Also take it that her brain just remembered the numbers rather than keeping written record.
