How can one clean out the pantry closet, remove 3 kitchen bags of what is now trash, and still have no space?
Granted, there is no longer an imminent threat of avalanche, but I really feel like I should have empty shelves to play with.

Know the feeling. I have been cleaning out and getting rid of stuff for three years and I am wondering the same thing about closets.

o.k., I can't help myself!!
using emoticons to express myself about "the Mooch" just isn't enough, so after getting a "green light" from a friend of mine I decided to post some real words because I really do want/need to "say more"...
this is how I (and Maxine) really feel:
after creating the post re "Modern Presidential Behavior" I had decided not to make another political statement on our NCISrefugees forum, but thanx to SunshineBoozer, she gave me an opportunity to express my opinion without saying a word! bless her heart! 😊
however, this just has to be said: as a Sicilian, I found that idiot Scary-Moochie an insult to any of us who have a brain! he talked and acted like a mafia wannabe, a reject from the Soprano's show, possessing the IQ of an eggplant, and ultimately he undid himself before he was officially due to take the job on August 1st! gotta be some kind of record to lose a job before you actually had it...😄
don't know how General John Kelly will work out, but I'm not making a $$$ bet that he'll be a part of "the circus" for long... in researching him, I read that as Director of Homeland Security he wanted "the wall" to be built within 2 years... honestly, that comment doesn't impress me; anyone with a half a brain and any sense of reality would know that "a wall" will not keep out the "bad hombres"! apparently he hasn't seen the pictures and videos of the tunnels that have been built under the already existing walls here in Arizona!
just can't wait for the next installment of this show called "The White House IS NOT in Chaos"...

Watching The Love Boat on ME TV, last night, there was an episode with Mark Harmon. A 1983 episode, he's a brown haired, mustached, naïve, assistant to the VP, with a crush on the gal from Payroll, who happens to be having an affair with the VP. It was pretty amusing. I'm still trying to get the courage to watch the episodes of 'The West Wing' with Mark Harmon. If you haven't seen those episodes, just know the last one is what makes them particularly hard to watch.

Yep, this is me and my parents' question every time we clean out and organize our basement. Most of it is finished, but we have two unfinished rooms (meant to be our downstairs bathroom and laundry room) that somehow get the 'out of sight/out of mind' clutter treatment.

Sometimes people baffle me. We have a new-ish guy, at my office. He very loud and very opinionated. It is just a matter of time before HR comes calling.
In his 4 months here, I have overheard the "I shouldn't have to press 1 for English, this is America!" rant, on several occasions.
Our office Admin is trying to decide where to go for vacation.
He is suggesting varying locations based on how accomodating they are to English speakers. "Oh, no, you don't want to go there, nobody speaks English.", "You might like there, they are getting better about speaking English."
I really want to pop out with "I shouldn't have to speak English, this is Germany!"

I really want to pop out with "I shouldn't have to speak English, this is Germany!" Or you can play into his rant. Say the language option is more harmful to the non-English speakers. By accommodating them they lose motivation to learn English and outside of the MLB, there aren't a whole lot of high paying jobs in this country for those who don't speak the language (there is some truth to this, but I don't want to stir up the debate). This could potentially get him to see having to press one for English as a good thing, tough to tell though.

People are so weird.
I occasionally (fortunately not too often) interact with this guy, he's... angry and loud and belligerent and always always right.
We crossed paths on Monday and he was on a general rant that people were criticizing his president ("My President), for a slow response the Harvey disaster. "The <insert racial slur here> never even responded to Katrina, he was playing golf or something."
Well, between Monday and today, someone pointed out Obama was not yet President and found photos of Senator Obama, with Clinton & W, in Louisiana.
So, today's rant is that, "Can you believe that <insert racial slur here> was campaigning, when folks had just lost everything."
As an aside, I am usually pretty easy going, let folks be folks. On both of these occasions, I did report his sorry behind. There are just things you do not say in the workplace. What you do on your own time, in your own space is none of my business, be as big a jackhole as you like.

There's plenty of bad things to say about Obama (as well as every single other politician out there) without resorting to the slurs. That said, I still would have loved for him to start his inaugural speech with:

Thursday is cookie day, in my office. Each Wednesday night, I mix and bake 80-90 2-bite cookies. In an effort to keep things interesting, there is a fair bit of experimentation. Today's selection is a toll house base with butterscotch chips and shredded coconut.
New guy tried one (yes it is only 8:18 here).
Him: Did you make these? Me: Yes. Him: But did you really make them? Me: Yes. Him: What brand did you use? Me: What do mean, there is no brand. Him: Sure. What was the name on the package? Me: Well, the sugar was Ginger Evans, the flour was gold medal, the butter was Lucerne, the vanilla is mccormick, the salt was Morton's, shall I continue? Him: Wait, you actually made these from scratch? Me: Yes. Him: Wow, they're pretty good.

sound yummy, Sunshine!
I'll take a dozen - but only if you really made them... 😉 (oh wait! they're bite size - so, better make that 3 dozen!)

Wow! You do something really nice, and the NEW guy is a putz?! That's just so very wrong. I'm sorry Sunshine. That's really sweet of you to do all that baking for your office!

SunshineBoozer - I wish I worked with you! What a nice idea - my daughter and I both enjoy baking but we try not to have sweets in the house (mostly because of my lack of self discipline). I work in a small office but make a small batch and bring most of them to work!
