Some thoughts on the episode.
Good episode, not terrific. Nice to show the charity, but honestly, when they showcase something like this, it is a bit distracting, and really doesn't add anything to the show. The only one I can remember that had real meaning for the episode was "Shooter" and Musicorp.
Had a neighbor growing up that was a Ham Radio Operator. He had a huge antenna in his back yard, could reach around the world. Limit of 80 miles seems a bit small for a serious operator. And the room had the equipment of a serious operator. Another note about Ham Operators, those few I've known, and there have only been two or three, weren't odd or reclusive. They were outgoing, smart, married with children, and liked among those in the neighborhood.
Also, the victims apartment seemed to be another redress of an existing set. Same brick wall and window as conference room and director's office.
Tim's getting better with Dogs. Retired shepherd can still get the job done.
Sixth week in a row where Harmon and Perrette are not in a scene together physically. A conspiracy theorist would be having a field day with this right now.
Scar still on/by Gibbs eye, wondering if Harmon hurt himself during hiatus. (probably just make up artist) Also haven't seen his left hand in the past two episodes, so haven't noticed his knuckle that was banged up the first two or three episodes.
Tim taking lead at the crime scene, making the discovery of the rake, and cracking the quick one-liner was much more enjoyable than anything DiNozzo ever did at a crime scene.
Again, loved the more mature, in charge Palmer in Autopsy. Beginning to think that Dietzen is now a regular part of the cast and not just 13+ episodes. Hope so. Although, last year he was in the first 4 to 6 straight, then disappeared for several shows. We will have to wait to see.
Told myself I would give the new Agent 4 episodes before I pass judgement. I'll stick to that, this was episode three, next week will be number four. I will state one thing now though. I still miss Quinn. Believe she would have added a great deal to the shows for this season.
Did like Torres in his Drug Cartel outfit. He fit the role. Also liked the use of Reeves and how the team seems to be much more cohesive in working together. The new Gibbs is likable and seems easier to work with, but I'm not sure his warming up to Sloan is as believable as they would like for it to be.
This one was probably a 6.
One additional note I forgot to address: Year Books.
There was great debate among the year book staff and the student body all four years I was in High School concerning the publication and release dates for the year books. Some wanted a publication date of late May, to allow for fellow students to sign the books, with a supplement published and released in late June with the end of year activities in that copy. Such as the prom, graduation, senior show, senior luncheon, all night party. Each year, however, we opted for a end of June publishing and release date with a two week window in late June/early July to pick up the books at school.
My Freshman and Sophomore books have no signatures in them that I can find. My Junior book has half a dozen to a dozen signatures, and my Senior book has one. I haven't kept up with my classmates, have been to only one of three known reunions and have no real regrets about any of that. I wasn't the most popular student in school, not the most hated either. I was active in Choir and Drama and was actually fairly respected by fellow students for my acting ability (several told me in person they were impressed with my performances [one of the few highlights of my high school memories]).
To me, a lot of signatures on a year book just says you hustled a lot to get friends to sign your book. Nothing wrong with that, you wanted the memories, and I'm happy you have them. But as for invisible, I don't think that's the true meaning of few or no signatures. And in the end, I'm not sure that's what's important about a year book. I could be wrong.

I say no, b/c when he was on The Talk w/Maria Bello, there was no scar on his face. Plus the scar is sometimes darker red like a fresh one and other times paler like a fading scar. Knuckle is still banged up (consistency for his injuries thru all eisodes so far), but also slowing fading away aka paler.
About time. While I like Ducky, it's about time Palmer gets the reigns. Ducky can consult and maybe get back to teach somewhere in DC after his current teaching/book-writing stint.

Well, neither a fish nor a fowl episode. Loved the two duffers at the beginning of the episode, but it went downhill from there. Still can't get with the new girl. Just not impressing me. Do like what they're doing with Palmer, but wish they'd bring Ducky back now.

Over all it was a solid episode. Not spectacular but better than average which for me, it’s still better than a lot of things on tv.
- Correctly predicted that in his hast Torres was going to “over” donate in his haste.
- I liked the bickering Dew Sweepers and how Bishop got them back to task.
-On second watch, I noted that Tim was the only one who was in the bunker and thus the only one to come in contact with the cocaine-laced sand. Nice detail.
- Loved Tim’s line about it being a 17-hole golf course for the day and Gibbs’ laugh
- Jimmy isn’t as colorful as Ducky but he’s doing quite well as ME in Ducky’s stead. He’s still Jimmy and can be goofy but he’s handling the responsibility nicely!
- Anyone else bothered that Jack referred to Abby as the infamous Abby Scuito? Unlike what they say in Three Amigos, it does not mean that you’re more than famous. Lol. I’m surprised Abby didn’t correct her. I’m even more surprised that she didn’t correct her when she called her no bean caffeine Ka Pow! Instead of Caf Pow!
- Nice little backstory with Tim learning Ham Radio from his father. I know Tim had a sometimes contentious relationship with his father but I could see them bonding over Ham Radio. It’s geeky enough for Tim and something his father likely had experience with in the Navy.
- I loved Sean’s reaction to Torres telling him that his father used to sneak him into cock fights. He really had no idea how to respond to that!
- I’ll admit, when the dog was lunging at McGee, I thought they were just playing off the old joke that dogs didn’t like McGee. Again, another nice through detail in the episode.
- I didn’t notice it the first time, but when Tim enters the evidence garage, there was a team of forensic techs going over the lawnmower from the golf course.
- Side note – Ham Radio operators were called into action again in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.
- Palmer hugging Torres went from funny to rather creepy real quick. But it should have been a hint that something was amiss. There’s no way that Jimmy would have been that excited for $50.
- I loved it when Torres wondered who Sloane would root for in the Army-Navy football game since she was former army and now works for NCIS.
- I liked Tim and Jack working together. McGee (and Sean) just gets along with everyone so well.
- Jack did a great job of calming down Ricochet (awesome nickname for Rick O’Shea – kudos to the writers for that name!) by distracting him with his dog.
- Again, nice through line with Tim and the dog. It’s a new day and Tim isn’t wearing the same drug-coated clothes so the dog is nice and calm. I liked that Tim borrowed Benji to test his theory. It would have been a nice way to call back to Jethro the former drug dog that he once owned but there are only 42 minutes in an episode.
- Seriously though… they really should have been wearing masks when sieving the sand/cocaine. I understand that they didn’t really want to put the cast into face-covering masks but you’d think that potentially inhaling cocaine would be a bad idea.
- It was predictable that Torres wasn’t going to ask for his money back once he saw the kids playing.

Nice detail. Good catch! - Loved Tim’s line about it being a 17-hole golf course for the day and Gibbs’ laugh Because it's so rare I love it when Gibbs laughs- Jimmy isn’t as colorful as Ducky but he’s doing quite well as ME in Ducky’s stead. He’s still Jimmy and can be goofy but he’s handling the responsibility nicely! Yeah. Still Jimmy but he gets himself back together quickly to give his report. Perhaps, in a way, having Ducky there makes the stumbling part of him come out.
I just took it as famous within NCIS. I was surprised too when Abby didn't correct the Ka Pow! mistake.- Nice little backstory with Tim learning Ham Radio from his father. I know Tim had a sometimes contentious relationship with his father but I could see them bonding over Ham Radio. It’s geeky enough for Tim and something his father likely had experience with in the Navy. Once upon a time it was probably the way kids could stay in touch with their shipboard dads.
- I loved Sean’s reaction to Torres telling him that his father used to sneak him into cock fights. He really had no idea how to respond to that! I'm glad they moved on quickly from the cock fights. I know it's part of some cultures but I find it as disgusting as dog fights.- I’ll admit, when the dog was lunging at McGee, I thought they were just playing off the old joke that dogs didn’t like McGee. Again, another nice through detail in the episode. I'm glad there was a reason it - both Benji and Jethro were drug sniffers. Didn't even cross my mind at this point.- I didn’t notice it the first time, but when Tim enters the evidence garage, there was a team of forensic techs going over the lawnmower from the golf course. They need more of this. There used to be people milling around in the background in Abby's Lab too.- Side note – Ham Radio operators were called into action again in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. Makes me wish I had one and wish Janearami did too so I could tell her we haven't forgotten her.- Palmer hugging Torres went from funny to rather creepy real quick. But it should have been a hint that something was amiss. There’s no way that Jimmy would have been that excited for $50. Torres seemed perplexed but didn't ask and Jimmy didn't blurt out $5000!- I loved it when Torres wondered who Sloane would root for in the Army-Navy football game since she was former army and now works for NCIS. If I had to guess I'd say she'd stick with GO ARMY!
- I liked Tim and Jack working together. McGee (and Sean) just gets along with everyone so well. ME TOO! No snarky-ness within the extended team.- Jack did a great job of calming down Ricochet (awesome nickname for Rick O’Shea – kudos to the writers for that name!) by distracting him with his dog. HERE HERE!- Again, nice through line with Tim and the dog. YES! At least have them have the masks hanging around their necks and put up while doing their part of the sifting.- It was predictable that Torres wasn’t going to ask for his money back once he saw the kids playing. YUP.

a couple of lol moments, for me, in this episode:
Torres: "REP-RE-SEN-TA-TIVE!!" (been there, said that! 😊)
Palmer: "I've never done cocaine, but I don't think he was doing it right."
*********************************************
awww, Torres' dirt bike will have to wait 'til next year... (I think I like the guy...)
eta: question: is there a reason why Gibbs isn't going to Abby's lab to talk to her in person these days? is he suddenly allergic to her - or is there a deeper, darker reason? 🤔
nas yes, they are not getting along, she actually said that MH should get off the show, I'm sure I readthat somewhere

nas yes, they are not getting along, she actually said that MH should get off the show, I'm sure I readthat somewhere Every where i go people have noticed the relationship has changed. But who the *BleeP* does this chick think she can actually tell or even suggest that MH should leave? She isn't one in authority... This woman needs to stop being a such witch and do what ever she needs to do to leave. Of course if he has been complaining or what ever then maybe it is time for him to go behind the camera or whatever he wants to do. Lord knows I have wanted to tell people who didn't want to work or hated the jobs so much they were counting down to their last day.

I don't think she's said that. No one credible has reported that Pauley has told Mark to get off the show. (I regularly search for NCIS articles to post and I've never seen an article state that.) If Fanthom read it somewhere, it had to have been in the Gossip rags, which if you believe them, Mark Harmon is dying and has been for two years. I would take Fanthom's statement with a hefty grain of salt unless he would like to provide a source.

If they hang in there long enough they will probably get that one right, as the Queen is in her 90's. Globe is the worst one.

There are at least three websites out there that I can think of right now that often "report" on NCIS that are experts in click bait headlines, taking things out of context and running variations on the same articles based off the same 'rumor' that (as near as I can tell) was made up but they treat it as if it's real. These are the same websites that were insisting that Michael would come back to the show (with Cote) because Michael said in an interview that he would be open to guesting on NCIS... maybe... some day... Moral of the story, unless I can read the article Fanthom has cited, I'm going to remain skeptical of it's validity because I've never seen it anywhere else.

o.k., I started this little discussion about Gibbs/Abby (MH/PP), so I'll add to it a bit:
thinking back on the way things were between Harmon and Weatherly during MW's last season on the show, it smacks of similar behavior between MH and PP this season 15... the on-screen tension between Harmon and Weatherly was so thick you could cut it with a knife when they appeared in a scene together; and those scenes were few and far between throughout the entire season!
to me it looks like the same type of behavior this season between MH and PP...
imho, there is something going on behind closed doors but, like the Weatherly departure, we viewers will never know what's going on...
I'm sure with NCIS, like every other show (and movie) produced worldwide, there is a good old NDA (Google it) which has to be signed...
so, bottom line is this: we can read all kinds of "informative articles"; we can speculate all we want... but the truth about what goes on between the players on this show will never be known... all we ever hear/read about the NCIS set is it's "Happy, happy, Joy, joy!" every day... but the Realist in me says nothing is that good all the time!
final thought: 🤔 wonder how they're going to write off Abby at the end of the season... is she going to find out she had a kid she didn't know about?

There is an old saying "If something sounds to good to be true, it probably is." Sounds like to me that probably is your line of thought, NAS. If so I agree with you.

The credibility of news agencies, web sites, and other broadcast entities has always been in question. Even reputable agencies get things wrong every now and then. Gossip is the big source now days, along with "reality" TV, that isn't real, pseudo game (reality) shows that are edited down to 48 minutes with a faux winner. These are what we've asked for and what we've gotten in our "information technology" age, where anyone can "report" on a story and anyone who reads it will most likely believe it.
What hurts this story is that, as I called it earlier, Harmon and Perrette haven't physically been in a single scene together this season. Is there bad blood because Pauly is leaving? I have no idea. But the clear separation of the two characters is only fueling the gossip fire. Will the show runners address this? Are they the ones behind it? Is this all just some kind of ruse to get the gossip wheels spinning and more publicity for the show?
As the line from "Phantom of the Opera" goes "Gossip's worth its weight in Gold".
The cast has always been tight, at least the original cast, and I don't believe that anyone would intentionally stab anyone else in the back. But they are human beings, and even among friends, disagreements and falling out's do occur.
As I stated several months ago. Some day, in twenty, thirty or forty years from now, someone is going to write a tell-all autobiography which will reveal "The Real NCIS". Which will be followed by someone else' autobiography refuting that one, and then the cycle will start snowballing.
