I actually very much enjoyed the episode, and unlike the majority, I very much like Kasey. I thought the scene with her and Ducky and Jimmy was quite funny. I liked getting some more backstory about Jack, and I guess I wasn't too surprised to find out that Leon was part of the team that rescued her. I figured when we saw Gibbs at the cemetery, it would tie in somehow with Jack's story, and I liked how he opened up to Jack (and she to him). And it didn't dawn on me until after we saw Leon on the plane that he was missing from the tarmac at the MD airport. How did he get snatched so quickly? The only real negative for me is Torres - I REALLY don't like the way how self-centered is is becoming. I hope it changes next season.

The only real negative for me is Torres - I REALLY don't like the way how self-centered is is becoming. I hope it changes next season. The whole season has been rather bland for me, and this episode seems to have summed the whole season up. I'm glad you like Kasey, I would prefer someone else, or else they should have re-written the character. Replacing Abby with another version of Abby is the height of unimaginative. The episode dragged, the plot was thin, the cliff hanger isn't something I'm hanging to. I could go on. And Torres is the new DiNozzo, and I wasn't a fan of DiNozzo. Boy do I miss Quinn.
It's as if they are having chemistry problems either on set or on camera, and it almost feels like everyone is phoning it in. Perhaps with Pauley's absence, the tension that must have obviously been on set, will ease and things will get back to "normal", what ever anyone's definition of normal is. Over all, not a season, or episode, to write home about.

I thought it was a pretty good episode, as season finales go...
don’t know how they would handle the perpetrator of the “BOMB ON BOARD” threat... 🤔 (why/how did they have his fingerprints in a database anyway?) anybody have any ideas?
Jack’s backstory was very, very sad...😕 I liked the exchange that she had with LJG over their shared situation...
heaven forbid they would replace Abby, Abby, Abby with someone who was more mature than a 12 year old! not sure if I’ll ever like “Ka-Ka”...
OMG!! 😬 how are they gonna’ save the “Infadel”?

They didn't. She was able to life some 'touch DNA' from the mirror (and run it in a couple of hours). That was then run against the ship's crew and they came up with a familial match to the kid's father. Yes, they glossed over punishment for the act, but if it was the real world the kid would probably be in some major trouble and his father would probably lose his commission at minimum.
Oh, and since the filed flight plan was going to England, it figures they finally have a good storyline to use for Reeves and it comes two episodes after he dies.

Imagine the story line we could have gotten if the flight plan had been to, say, Paris?

Well there's a cliff hanger for you! Interesting. Very interesting.
The poll is up. I'm leaving very shortly for vacation so I'll comment when I get a chance to re-watch the episode next week when I get home. Enjoy your vacation!

I enjoyed this episode more than I expected. I thought Jack was over the top but given the flashbacks, maybe not. Didn't expect the cliffhanger as shown. How did he get hold of Vance?
I don't really have a problem with Kacie. Lab techs that I have known tend to be either straight-laced OCD people or total characters. Kacie is a character and I don't see her as Abby junior although I can see where the writers could try to slant the character in that direction. Kacie at this point is well trained but not as experienced, so she worries about screwing up. That's a phase I can sympathize with easily.

Abby to Abby, I said the same thing, where did they dig up this actress? she belongs in a children's show, like the original Abby, but as far as the episode, I thought it was better than most shows in the past few years, I liked it a lot and I started yelling at the cliffhanger Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Is Rocky Carrol's contract up or is he signed through season 16?

I had a chance to re-watch the finale again and in general I did enjoy it although I did have some criticisms. It only took two days to write up but here are my thoughts:
- I know the opening scene is meant to be a shocker but it wasn’t. We’re supposed to wonder how Jack got herself arrested but she’s already shown herself to have a bit of a temper when she beat the snot out of the guy who killed her friend (with benefits?) back in Ready or Not. She’s also described her anger issues during the episode with Drew Carey, Handle with Care.
- The little exchange when McGee enters was funny. I liked how he was apprehensive about Delilah’s matchmaking. Mostly it was nice that we got to hear about/from Delilah again. I wouldn’t mind seeing or hearing from Delilah a little more and the twins.
- Sweet of Gibbs to take flowers to Shannon’s grave for her birthday. Her birthday is the day before mine (although numerous years apart.) As others have mentioned, we get a birth year for Gibbs as 1954 which would have made him 22 in Heartland when he left Stillwater. Considering that he was a private first class in Heartland, that tells me that Gibbs lived at home for a few years before he joined the marines instead of joining straight out of high school like I had previously assumed. Either that or they decided to de-age Gibbs a bit since Season 6.
- I liked the scene between McGee and the ship commander. It wasn’t long but it was nice to remind the viewers that Tim was a navy brat and his father was a highly ranked officer. McGee is a common enough surname that it makes sense the connection isn’t always made between him and his father. But once in a while, it’s nice and here it served as a piece to the bomb threat puzzle. The commander thought he had an understanding family while the son was hiding how much trouble he was having with it. I kinda feel like Tim was like that. He understood why his father deployed and outwardly he’d accept it while internally agonizing. He just never went so far as to scribble a bomb threat in soap on a ship.
- I like Jack’s character but I can’t say I really liked the storyline with her being captured and tortured while she was in the Army, especially considering that she was introduced two episodes after Gibbs and McGee came back to work after being kidnapped and tortured. It felt a little like they had taken the same story and amped it up to 11 with her.
- But since that’s the way they decided to go, I feel like they’ve missed a couple of chances to call back to Gibbs and McGee’s experiences this season. But after Twofer, it seemed like they forgot that Tim and Gibbs had been through something extremely traumatic. So, while I appreciate Gibbs admitting to Jack that killing Hernandez didn’t make him feel better, perhaps some empathy regarding her incarceration would have been in order as well.
- Maria did play her part well though. She had to walk a fine line between unhinged and holding it together and at least to me, she played both rather well even if I don’t care for the storyline.
- As for our bad guy, I find it interesting that he’s perceived as such a good guy doing work for charity and as far as anyone is aware, clean of any terroristic record. He could have taken the plane and left the US and no one would be any the wiser. But instead, he kidnaps Director Vance, which as I said above, it was an interesting and surprising plot twist at the end. It isn’t going to be hard to figure out he’s responsible for kidnapping Vance and he’s going to be outed for the terrorist that he is.
- On that same note, this is at least the 3rd time Vance has been kidnapped that I can think of off-hand. 1. Harper Dearing (Til Death Do Us Part), 2. The spy who kidnaps Vance while he’s getting his donut at the end of season 13 and this one makes 3.
- The case of the week was definitely filler. I feel bad for the kid because he’s undoubtedly going to get in some serious trouble for his actions. Recalling a naval ship for a bomb threat isn’t something the navy would look kindly upon. Hope for his sake the courts are lenient.
Overall, it was a decent episode. It wasn’t the best finale we’ve ever had but I am interested in seeing where they go with Vance being kidnapped. I do hope that they don’t repeat a similar story line as they had with Gibbs and McGee being kidnapped and missing for the summer.
Rocky (along with Pauley, Sean, and David) last renewed their contracts for seasons 14 & 15. David has already announced he’s back with a limited schedule. Pauley is gone which leaves Sean and Rocky left to sign new contracts. (I’m not sure what schedule Emily, Wilmer and Brian are on.) Sean will be back for sure and I doubt Rocky is looking to leave. Between acting and directing, he’s got a pretty good gig going. I suppose we’ll find out for sure if/when they announce new contracts for Rocky and Sean!

GREAT notes, Llyan!
- I know the opening scene is meant to be a shocker but it wasn’t. We’re supposed to wonder how Jack got herself arrested but she’s already shown herself to have a bit of a temper when she beat the snot out of the guy who killed her friend (with benefits?) back in Ready or Not. I'm guessing it was purposeful foreshadowing. Her immediate reaction to that voice reminded me of Ziva when they'd have her act out instead of her Mossad/Kidon training kicking in.
- The little exchange when McGee enters was funny. I liked how he was apprehensive about Delilah’s matchmaking. Mostly it was nice that we got to hear about/from Delilah again. I wouldn’t mind seeing or hearing from Delilah a little more and the twins.
Poor date guy - here they were getting on great and BAM, he was outta there. I wonder if Delilah will try to smooth things over with him to give Jack a 2nd chance.
Either that or they decided to de-age Gibbs a bit since Season 6.
Dates have never been NCIS' strong point. Kelly was close to 9 when she died when originally she was 7. Young Gibbs in Heartland looked nowhere near 22 years old.
In the military I remember hearing same last names fairly often (I was in my A school with a Rich W and a few years later I ended up stationed with his identical twin brother Rob) so I wasn't surprised when the Commander had that name recognition.
Agreed.

They need to form a club.
- Maria did play her part well though. She had to walk a fine line between unhinged and holding it together and at least to me, she played both rather well even if I don’t care for the storyline.
Agreed again. Maria did a fantastic job.
- As for our bad guy, I find it interesting that he’s perceived as such a good guy doing work for charity and as far as anyone is aware, clean of any terroristic record. He could have taken the plane and left the US and no one would be any the wiser. The action will lead to his own doom. Gotta love dumb "crooks".

Plot hole: Vance should have a SEAL level protection team given his penchant for getting himself kidnapped - instead he seems to have none at all these days.
- The case of the week was definitely filler. I feel bad for the kid because he’s undoubtedly going to get in some serious trouble for his actions. Recalling a naval ship for a bomb threat isn’t something the navy would look kindly upon. Hope for his sake the courts are lenient.
I doubt if we ever find out.

If he doesn't have a guardian set up for his kids (unless Jared has been forgotten about like Chuck Cuningham) Leon's remiss in his duty as a parent. Kaila might be 18 now (she got aged up after Jackie's murder) and off in college.

Between acting and directing, he’s got a pretty good gig going. I suppose we’ll find out for sure if/when they announce new contracts for Rocky and Sean! The reason I asked about the contracts is, as mentioned in your review, Vance has now been kidnapped three times. Not a good record for the director of a Federal Agency. And now with no wife and his children still at home, although one is about to go to college, it would seem his parenting skills need some work.
It would seem, if Rocky isn't renewing his contract, this is a good way to send him off, either by being killed by terrorist, or being rescued, then dressed down by his daughter and forced to retire. This would allow, also, the introduction of a new Director, possibly someone a bit more antagonistic and less accepting of Gibb's methods. And, the opportunity to get a new, new lab tech that might be older, wiser, and less Gibbs friendly. Allowing for a bit more conflict in the office space.
Although, as mentioned earlier, Rocky is in a good place here with around 13 episodes a season, and a chance to direct at least once a year, not a bad gig if you can find it.
Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure Jenny had at least two times. The one I can name off the top of my head is 'Jeopardy' where the brother of the guy Ziva killed in the elevator nabbed Jenny to exchange for his return.

Sorry, but I hope they aren't lenient. Let him off easy and every deploying ship is going to have a bomb threat from a kid with an inflated sense of entitlement.

I FINALLY watched the season finale! This is the latest ever, but now I only have to wait 2 months instead of four to see how it resolves.
I enjoyed the episode more than I thought I would. I like Sloan, I thought Maria did a great job but not totally thrilled with the storyline. Llyan and NewBe pretty much summed it up. I was a little surprised with the Vance kidnapping but will wait to see how they tie it all up. I did also feel very bad for the officer in the VA with PTSD and Alzheimers - PTSD looks truly horrible and seeing the memories brought back is very sad.
I have avoided many parts of the board until I watched the episode so I will go through them now - but any word on the contracts? I can't imagine Sean leaving at this point and I like Rocky too - hope they are both back!
