you’re probably right, Hari, as “great minds think alike”... but that’s only the first thought...
[Maxine and] I have a few other thoughts on the subject that are best left unsaid...🤐

The poll is up. Once Delilah gets home, Timmy is going to have some s'plainin' to do! The tech was questionable but otherwise that was a fun episode. Edited: Aaaannnd that's what I get for having one too many tabs open. The poll is now attached to the correct episode and I've moved my post to the proper thread!

I have it a B
I liked it. I liked Tim’s dad remained “in character”.
Loved Young Tim. The actor did a great job.
Loved: Delilah:: Timothy? Why is your computer talking to you. Tim: Did I get here before you? LOL.
The McGee’s really need to move!
Jack blabbing about her “shrinking” of Tim to his teammates was a no-no for me.
I hate to say this but Gibbs is becoming white noise to me. Can Hanna, when Pride wants his team back full time, come and be team lead at the mothership?

So... either the writers forgot about the end of What Lies Above or Tim lied to his coworkers. I'm leaning towards: he lied.

While Jack wasn't being the most ethical she could be, Tim wasn't a patient and she wasn't making her assessment in a professional capacity, so she technically didn't violate any confidentiality.
Two big inconsistencies: The McGee home now has a guest bedroom? It certainly didn't when Tony was living there. And there was no way that computer was connected to the internet. Perhaps, however unlikely, Tim could have found a wireless card that was compatible and connected to his home wifi (I could do several paragraphs on the many computer errors, but will spare all of you), but no way would it have been connected at NCIS. Nevermind where it was getting power on that cart since it isn't a laptop.

I didn’t like a Jack profiling him and then offering up what she deduced as ammunition for his teammates.
If that apartment has a guest room then it’s probably grow a kids room too. If the show goes on long enough it will grow another bedroom so each kid can have their own.

GUEST BEDROOM?!? 😳 that was exactly what I thought, Hari...
geez!! either the writers have the worst memories in the whole world OR they think the show’s viewers are soooo stupid that we don’t remember Tony’s apartment only had ONE bedroom... also, isn’t that unit on an upper floor? how did the guy get in thru’ the “GUEST bedroom” window? did he fly?
😂😂 love what you wrote about McGees “dinosaur computer”... they treated that thing as if it was brand new - not 30+ years old...
I just happen to have one of those “dinosaurs” in the corner of my home office... it makes a great dust collector...

nas Actually, they made a mix of brand new and the 80's. In 1994 that machine would likely have been running Windows 3.11 Workgroups and if he still had it a year later it would have been upgraded to Win95, but they had it running in text mode as a mid to late 80's machine would be.

Any episode centering around McGee is nice and it was great to see Delilah (they have to use her more often, much more often). I'm no computer expert, but a lot of that sounded like gobbledegook. The bits with the Admiral (Commander then) were terrific and both the young McGee and his father did fine jobs. The main crime story kind of got lost in shuffle. That's starting to happen more often and I still can't stand Jack.

That's starting to happen more often and I still can't stand Jack. I'm not a tech expert but even I know that the tech they talked about was mostly gobbledegook. The case itself required a huge suspension of belief but the rest of it was fantastic. The actor who played young Tim was fantastic and completely believable as a younger version of McGee in both mannerisms and looks.
There was also the nice call back to Fragments and how he told Ray that he had only asked his father about Vietnam once. Looks like we witnessed that one time and after getting slapped for it, I don't blame him for not asking again. So given that reaction, I'm suspecting that Tim's dad didn't serve on a carrier that first tour in Vietnam and saw some serious action, which would explain why he wouldn't talk about it to Tim.
Lots of funny parts in this episode. I particularly liked the flashback after Gibbs asked what else he might have done with the computer and we see him playing what looked like Wolfenstein 3d (or maybe Doom, I didn't get a good look), looking up pictures of girls in bikinis and other typical teenage boy things! Sean's reaction to the 'memory' was priceless!
The only thing that threw me about the younger version of Admiral McGee was his height. The actor is listed at 5'11" whereas Jamey Sheradin is listed at just over 6'. So they're pretty close in height. Sean is listed at 6'2" but I can't find a height for the young McGee actor. My suspicion is that he must be taller than Sean because he looked like he towered over the younger version of Admiral McGee and that was even with him slumping!
Overall it was a fun episode and a wonderful look into the teenage years of Tim McGee.

I totally missed that “Jack profiling” scene! where was I? guess I’ll have to go back and rewatch the episode, although I’m not in a hurry to do so...
😂 “grow a kids room”, eh NewBe? well, they’ve already added a “GUEST room” and relocated the unit to the first floor, so why not add more bedrooms? and while they’re at it they might as well add a nice big back yard for a swing set - and a tree house in a big beautiful tree!
y’all like Delilah, but I’m not fond of her... the way she bugs her eyes out at Tim when she’s upset with him just makes me nutz! apparently the writers like to make it look like Tim is a milquetoast, and she’s a real ball-buster... sorry, not cute! 😠
