Just watched. Ending explains why he had that rather ancient MacBook with him.
I liked it, but for some of the silliness factor, I think I have to "C" it for the moment. Gibbs was doing some of his good old school tech illiteracy with the "he's right there!" part watching the stream, but the bit with the first suspect was cringe-worthy.
Oh, and then he knows how to do a smiley face on an instant messenger? I'm surprised he even got the laptop open, let alone opening the message and responding with a smiley face...

Oh, and then he knows how to do a smiley face on an instant messenger? I'm surprised he even got the laptop open, let alone opening the message and responding with a smiley face... This was a Hollywood computer - battery lasts forever unless it's a plot point for it to be dying, it just 'comes on' without a need to boot (again, unless plot point), and it can alert the user it has a message even when it's turned off. Bishop gave a similar one to a girl in the middle east a few seasons back; no power cord and I don't think the village she was in had electrical service anyway. As for the messenger, as per it being the Hollywood computer, he just opened the lid and the message notification was there with a, "Do you want to read it" with yes and no buttons. And with the smiley, there was another episode a few seasons back where it was revealed that Gibbs had done an undercover assignment a couple decades ago as a computer consultant and smiley's and instant messages have been around at least since the 80's.

Hmm, forgot about those. In my full-series slow-binge Netflix watch I've been doing off and on all year, I'm just now getting to the Port to Port stuff in (I think) S8, and I haven't rewatched the more recent (last five years or so) eps very much because they're the least common on USA's airings.
I don't remember Bishop doing that, although I remember one with an agent that was in Iraq or something with Tony earlier on in my Netflix memory-refresh series that left some kind of computer with someone in a little unsecured village and getting the military escorts into a panic from just jumping out of the truck before they cleared it.
With some more time to process this ep though, I'm gonna bump to a B.

That was the same episode we found her brother was in a coma after being hurt in Iraq. She gave the laptop to the family that helped save his life.

It was an okay stand alone episode - some cut funny moments ...
McGee dethroned as the game expert - the Elf Lord nickname, how marriage and kids can change your worlds.
The mother did not come off to well for me, but I will give that she has her problems and her coping skills may be off... if I left my kids with someone and the watched more tv than I allowed or more video games or whatever I went with the flow -I mean they are not obligated to watch your kids. But I will give her a little slack because her situation was so tough
I got a kick out of all the oldies playing the game - I don't even play video games ...

Some good giggles in this one. I had to laugh watching the team get caught up in the"cant stop playing" mode. Would love to see more Phineas and Gibbs interactions... who knows?
