I just learned today that Hal Holbrook who was on episode 4.2 (Escaped) passed away on January 23. He was 95. I remember seeing him in a whole bunch of movies too.

geez! 3 nanogenarians passed away all within one week! 😕 Cloris Leachman - 94 Cicely Tyson - 96 Hal Holbrook - 95
I didn’t even hear about Hal Holbrook’s death until you posted about it, kate...
I had the pleasure of seeing him perform his one-man show, Mark Twain Tonight at the Pasadena Playhouse way back in the 70’s... at that time he was in his 40’s portraying the 70+ year old Twain; eventually he “age grew” into the role... he continued to perform that show for many, many years, and only “retired it” in 2017!
I have a memory from seeing that performance that I will never forget, and I’ll share it with you: As Intermission time was approaching, “Mr. Twain” was tiring, and while sitting in his chair he nodded off into a sleep... the entire theatre audience went silent so as not to wake him - you could hear a pin drop! and then the curtain went down... when the Intermission was over and the curtain went up, “Mr. Twain” woke up and continued on with his monologue as if he didn’t realize he had dozed off...
it’s funny how, after more than 40 years, I still remember that scene! the show was soooo remarkable, his performance soooo brilliant, it’s no wonder he won many awards for it over the years...
o.k., I’m done with my “Ducky impersonation”... 😉
edit: apparently the reason I hadn’t heard about Hal Holbrook’s passing is that the family didn’t announce his death until just yesterday, February 2nd... ********************

I saw that he died as well - another loss of a very talented person.

Kind of strange for me. A few weeks ago I looked at a Barney Miller video on Youtube and in one of the top comments someone thought Hal Linden was dead and somebody had corrected them already. I added on that they couldn't be confused for Hal Holbrook either since he was also still alive - less than a week before Holbrook passed.
