Between today and into Thursday afternoon MN could see as much as 20 inches of snow 😳 It started this afternoon, we are supposed to get a little bit of a break tomorrow morning, but by afternoon it is supposed to start again and continue until sometime Thursday afternoon. Some of the meteorologists say if it ends up as bad as they are saying, it will be one of the top snowstorms in he state.

Good luck and hope the power stays on too!
We have not had snow this winter in central NJ. While I don't mind cold weather at all I do not like snow anymore - and I never liked ice... thankful for the break and hope it holds out through the rest of the season

Temperature wise it hasn’t been as cold this year as past years. It has been really snowy though, there have been many days where we had snow that lasted a couple of days. One day last month the roads were sheets of ice. I am definitely looking forward to Spring/Summer.

Wow...that's a lot of snow! I live in rural IL and the most I remember getting is around 18" a few years ago. That was quite enough for me!
Down here we really have had a pretty mild winter. Except for a week around Christmas, where it got colder than it was in Antarctica, it's really been a pretty mild winter around here. Not that I'm complaining. I think I've had to use the snow shovel like once so far. Today we're supposed to get an inch of rain or so. Much rather have that than the snow equivalent!
Stay safe up there! Definitely hope Spring arrives around your parts very soon-like!

as I write this it’s 56° here in southern Arizona, with another heavy snowstorm expected up north in Flagstaff! and where my daughters are in the Carolinas their temps are in the low 70’s! 🤔 I wonder which of us is gonna have the hotter summer…
and to all of you living in the snow country: stay warm stay safe and I hope you don’t lose your power… I’m keeping good thoughts for y’all…

The snowstorm is pretty much over. It didn’t produce as much snow as was predicted, but still a decent amount. From what I have read most places saw somewhere between 8-12 inches of snow. Where I live there was about 10 inches. Thankfully we never lost power, I haven’t seen much in terms of accidents on the roads. Hopefully there wasn’t any serious accidents/injuries.

I was going to write to you for an update, but you beat me to it, ballerina… thanx!! I’m glad it wasn’t as bad as predicted, and that you never lost power…
according to our local news the Arizona snowfall up in Flagstaff was brutal… boy am I glad I’m down here in the southern part of this state where it’s just cold, windy and dreary - - I don’t do ❄️ ❄️ ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️! 😝

That’s too bad about the snowfall in Flagstaff. I am not a fan of snow either. I am very much looking forward to Spring and warmer weather.

actually, ballerina, Flagstaff depends on the snow because it’s their source of income for the winter months with the skiers & snowboarders and folks who just like to go up and play in the white stuff and make ⛄️… but when they have to close the Snowbowl because the ski lift can’t be operated due to high winds and whiteout conditions, it’s not good for business…

nas I wasn’t aware of that before, I guess I didn’t know AZ really had snow. Thanks for the information

oh yeah, ballerina, it’s a different world up there in northern Arizona! and during the summer months down here when the temps get to a brutal 🥵100++ people flock up there for the cooler weather, which is +/- in the 80° range… I don’t know if you’d call that “cool”, but it does beat the heck out of living in the “Valley of the Furnace” during the summer months…
there’s a saying that goes: “Everybody’s gotta be someplace”, but all that said and all things considered, I’d still rather be living in the southern part of this state; like I said, I don’t do ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️!
eta: and that concludes your geography/meteorolgy lesson for the day! 😅
