After so long, it was great to have a new episode on tonight. And it was a pretty good one too! Really glad to see that they tied up the thread that they pulled with the guy that tortured Nick's family when he was a child. They helped the kid in jail from the finale and I liked that Nick didn't kill the guy even if he wanted to. It totally makes sense that he would have confessed because he was trying to protect his sister. No hints on what the season long arc is going to be though.

Not a bad episode. Wonder if the new girl is going to be the new tech person and the season long arc will involve her? No reason to add her unless they are going to use her.

I also liked this a whole lot. Surprised since it was a Torres-centric episode. But I thought it was pretty well executed.
Just a couple o' nits to pick and get 'em out of the way. So, Nick thinks his sister is the one who killed evil boyfriend. Ok, I can see how he might jump to that conclusion. But wouldn't he want to talk to her to make *sure* that's exactly what happened *before* confessing to killing said evil boyfriend and living the rest of his life in prison? Not that his life would necessarily be that long in that prison he chose to be sent to. Which leads me to when those bad Ruskie gang bangers coming after Torres. For wanting to kill Nick, they sure were nice to jump him one at a time, eh?
Anyway -- with that out of the way, I did manage to like this episode. We saw Parker interacting with some of his old FBI "buddies". I also kinda snickered at Knight and Palmer sneaking the body into autopsy ("our first crime together"!). *snicker* Looks like we could have a new addition to the tech team. Wonder if she will be back in later episodes or simply forgotten about from this day forward?
I never watch previews for the next week's episode. But the way this one ended, I kinda have a bad feeling where this is going to go. I know it's been awhile, but I am still not going to be ready for it. Just hope this tribute is well done.
Anyway, I give this one an A-. Surprisingly good.

I liked the episode. I thought it started out a bit slow but ended on an high note until Parker got the call from Jimmy. I usually guess the bad guy/girl pretty quickly but this was a surprise for me. I teared up at the end knowing what is going to happen next week.

I somehow managed to not DVR the episode. How brilliant was that move? I got home and sat down to watch it and it wasn't on my DVR listing. Brilliance.
I did find it today using On Demand. I enjoyed it. I wonder if the Russian jailed guys will be part of the season long arc?
I am so not ready for next week's episode.

I’m gonna’ try to be brief…
after the WGA strike, which lasted 14 weeks and 2 days, nothing regarding the quality of the writing for this show has changed for me…
I’m sorry folks but this episode was convoluted, silly, and totally unrealistic; being a Torres-centric episode probably had a lot to do with it - I just don’t like him…
first off, the convoluted part: if “Nico” and his sister Lucia had only communicated with one another about the murder of the guy who ruined their lives this whole situation wouldn’t have existed… but then the episode would have only lasted about 10 minutes, wouldn’t it? at this point it was so confusing about the “whodunnit” that I don’t even remember who it was! I think it was the kid’s mom, but I don’t feel like going back to watch it again right now - - maybe later…
the silly part: the “crime” that Palmer and Jess committed was 🙄… the writers attempt at making them “cutesy” just doesn’t work for me - what’re they? 14 years old? and what’s with the cap that Jess was wearing? not cute! just silly! so, two people can just stroll in to wherever the body was, and stroll right out with it - seriously?!
and now for the unrealistic part:
Torres went from being accused/arrested for murder and into wearing an Orange suit in about 36 hours!
if only the judicial system worked as fast in real life (for some people) as it does in this show! AND he gets to choose which prison he goes to… AND he just happens to get the same cell he was in before when he went “undercover” - right across from the innocent kid… “your room is waiting for you, sir.” last, but certainly not least: brgjoe wrote exactly what I thought about the Russian baddies; to think that Torres could beat the cr@p out of those guys is just laughable! he is not big and muscular! he stands 5’ 8” and doesn’t look like LL Cool J in a t-shirt! AND after taking a screwdriver to his wherever he’s back to work in days!
o.k., I’m done! if you were expecting anything different from me, I’m sorry to disappoint you… the Realist in me is just too strong to overlook the way this show is written…
that said, next week is the tribute episode to DMac, and all I can say is I hope they do it right…
nas p.s. - so much for being brief!
p.p.s. - in rereading what I just wrote, I realize my critique was really curmudgeonly - I could blame it on Maxine, but I won’t this time… perhaps I should just stick to posting on the Fur Babies thread because my grandoggie Buck‘s antics make for better/funnier writing…

While it would be good if Torres and his sister had communicated, neither of them was picking up the phone. I also had a serious problem with Torres just leaving the gun behind after beating up the stepdad; that's how you get shot in the back leaving the room.
Definitely true about the attacking one at a time, though the leader sitting back while his underlings attack isn't so far off, but in reality the leader would definitely have stabbed Torres several times while the big guy was holding him. I knew the FBI girl sent the files, but I really thought (and would have preferred) that Parker would just promote that guy in the basement who pretty much solved the case. One last thing. Of course we all knew Parker would keep Torres, but after the speech at the end it would have fit a lot better if Parker had made him give his word not to go rogue and keep the team in the dark ever again. Not that the writers won't have him do it again.

It looks like Tv Insider is going to have extensive post show interviews. If they keep it up, I'll continue to post them in the appropriate episode threads.
