They haven't used Wendy Makkena in the role of Dr. Cranston, Kate's sister in a while. Does she have commitments that are keeping her away or is she being left off the show? Anyone know what, if anything is going on?

According to IMDb her last appearance on NCIS was in "Double Back" 2014. She also appeared in two episodes of "Alpha House" in 2014.
In 2015 she appeared in "Rizzoli and Isles", (with her "sister" Kate).
In 2015 she has appeared in "The Discovery", "Fair Market Value", and "Wanderland" is in post production.
Her IMDb resume has several Movie and TV credits, (NCIS not among them) and at least 10 theater credits. (You have to find her posted resume to get this information, it's not listed on her page, where NCIS is listed)
Also I found this in her bio:
"A successful entrepreneur, Wendy is the founder and recipe inventor behind "Ruby's Rockets" frozen fruit and veggie pops. Conceived and crafted with her daughter Ruby, their first-to-market recipes have won the Masters Of Taste Award, The New Hope Editor's Choice NEXTY Award, and the SupplySide West Award. Ruby's Rockets have been featured on The Today Show, Forbes, and NY Business Insider, among others, and were selected to be in Oprah's coveted O list. They are now in over 3,000 doors nationwide."
Apparently she is busy, but I would guess not too busy to return to the show. With Tony gone, it would seem that the tension that seemed to be carried over from the "Tony/Kate" relationship, to "Dr. Kate's sister" is now gone and does not need to be dealt with. Perhaps Glassberg was done with her, but I would guess if the new showrunners wish to use her again, she would probably come back. What actor wouldn't want the exposure of the most watched TV show in the world?

Found a copy of "Sister Act" and "Sister Act II" in a clearance bin a couple of weeks ago. I knew she was in it, just didn't remember what part. She wasn't bad in it. They dubbed her singing voice though. didn't realize that was in '95, over 20 years ago. Time flies.

I didn't know at the time the singing voice of Sister Mary Robert was "Marnie Nixon'd" (so to speak) but found out when I googled her when she she 1st appeared on NCIS in 'A Man Walks Into A Bar'.

There is another actress that appeared in "Sister Act II" and NCIS. Can you name her without looking her up?

Alanna Urbach. She played Maria in "Sister Act II", one of the students in the choir. She played NSA Senior Intelligence Analyst Sofia Martinez in NCIS. Ellie's former co-worker who spared with DiNozzo with all the movie references and Bond quotes.
On a side note, she also played Jose in "Beakman's World" for one season. I used to record that show and play back portions to my students where we were studying certain concepts in Science. I found him much more entertaining than Bill Nye.
