I'll post my thoughts about this episode tomorrow, but right now I have just one question:
WHY do they always run?!??

I enjoyed this episode. Considering everyone was in the episode it did not feel cramped for screen time.

I loved the resolution of the "I think he has a little crush on me." Yes, I am a sucker for a happy ending.

Not a bad episode other than my wife and I pointed to the brother when he showed up and said "He did it" when we saw him. Carey did a fine job, but the best thing in the episode was the return of Ducky. Hope we get to see him more often for the remainder of the season. Still can't get with Jack and the scene with Ducky just made it worse. You had a profiler, people, stick with him.
And isn't it about time to start the necessary background stuff to begin ushering Abby out the door? They've known she was leaving for the entire season, so there's no reason to drop the exit on us out of no where.

I enjoyed this episode. Drew Carey did a fine job with the role. Jake Busey looks (and acts) like his dad -- wow! Interesting insight into Sloan's back story as well. So glad to see Ducky back for this one, I hope he stays around for a few more. Thanks for keeping Abby in her lab where she belongs. Isn't it time to start preparing for her departure?

I gave it an A because I got it all wrong.
Wrong killer guess - I thought it was the brother who pointed at the drunk uncle. Wrong daughter guess. Thought it would be the “grieving widow”.
Drew was wonderful. I wanted to hug his Sgt John Ross character.
Only disappointment was he had no scenes with his former cast mate from his own sitcom, Pauley.
PS: 16 for 16 episodes with no Gibbs/Abby - Mark/Pauley scenes.

I definitely enjoyed this one. Drew Carey did a fantastic job and showed a lot of very different emotions in a short time from his panic at being held in interrogation to his insecurities and anger and to his sweet means of getting to know his daughter.
I didn't particularly care for Jack's backstory though. I expected some kind of tragedy and we got a little hint of that in the Christmas episode. I had guessed that she lost friends in Afghanistan, but the 'upping the ante' of having her held prisoner for nine months felt like it was a bit much, especially on the heels of having Gibbs and McGee going through that. I don't hate the story line but I wish they had gone a different direction.
Anyway, back to the episode, man I wanted to reach through my TV to smack that shock jock. Given his flat out lies, I'm surprised he hasn't been sued for defamation. Hopefully Gibbs bringing up his daughter will help this man to find his soul and change his ways.

Drew Carey did a great job. Liked this episode way better than the previous week's. If I were a betting man (and I'm not because I always lose my shirt), I would say we may not have seen the last of Jake Busey's shick jock..

I thought this was a very good episode - good storyline with a touching ending for Drew Carey's character, John Ross...
Drew Carey is a great dramatic actor, isn't he? sure liked the pic of him when he was a young Marine! quite handsome!
Jake Busey's character was disgusting and infuriating! 😠 I 've never seen him in anything else, so is this always the way he acts? he doesn't look like his dad so much, but he sure got "those teeth", didn't he? 😬
well, Jack had to have a backstory - and this is as good as any, I suppose... sure made for some good heart-to-heart convo's with John... she is a tortured soul... 😕
I am soooo glad to have seen the complete exit of "Toddler/Teenager Abby"! she's really easy to watch now; too bad she's leaving now that she's portraying Abby as an adult woman...
and speaking of her leaving: some of you are thinking that the writers should be building up to her departure from the show... why does my gut tell me that her "farewell" is gonna' be a "One & Done" episode - or a 2-parter - - max...
none of my/our business, but it sure would be interesting to know what went down between MH and PP - not that we ever will... but their lack of appearances together in scenes is certainly "an elephant in the room"...
and DiNozzo was right! remember what he used to say? 😄

I thought this was a very good episode - good storyline with a touching ending for Drew Carey's character, John Ross...And kind of nice that they left it open ended - you know he told her, but not how things end up. I could just imagine Ross' reaction when she tells him she thought he had a crush on her. Drew Carey is a great dramatic actor, isn't he?sure liked the pic of him when he was a young Marine! quite handsome! The difference in appearance is similar to Tom Poston between the 1960's and 1980's, Poston was a Captain in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Jake Busey's character was disgusting and infuriating! 😠I 've never seen him in anything else, so is this always the way he acts?he doesn't look like his dad so much, but he sure got "those teeth", didn't he? 😬I was hoping to see someone smash his face in, which I guess means he did really well with the role. The only other role I remember Jake from is Starship Troopers. He was brash and cocky in that, but he was supposed to be. He'd probably look a lot more like his dad if he gained 30 lbs. well, Jack had to have a backstory - and this is as good as any, I suppose...sure made for some good heart-to-heart convo's with John...she is a tortured soul... 😕The story played well into those scenes, but I really hope we won't have an ongoing thing with her emotional rollercoaster. If that's how she is, she shouldn't have passed the psych eval, though she was probably able to fake it. I am soooo glad to have seen the complete exit of "Toddler/Teenager Abby"! she's really easy to watch now; too bad she's leaving now that she's portraying Abby as an adult woman...Definitely an improvement. and speaking of her leaving:some of you are thinking that the writers should be building up to her departure from the show...why does my gut tell me that her "farewell" is gonna' be a "One & Done" episode - or a 2-parter - - max...If not created in the last 5 minutes of her last episode. none of my/our business, but it sure would be interesting to know what went down between MH and PP - not that we ever will...but their lack of appearances together in scenes is certainly "an elephant in the room"...Nah, not the least bit conspicuous how Gibbs went to autopsy to see Jimmy (remember he didn't know Ducky was there), gets told he needs to check with Abby, walks to the elevator, gets in, and McGee walks out of the elevator on Abby's floor... and DiNozzo was right! remember what he used to say? 😄It's always the wife.nas

That was good..he probably would become embarrassed at first. Drew Carey is a great dramatic actor, isn't he?sure liked the pic of him when he was a young Marine! quite handsome! The difference in appearance is similar to Tom Poston between the 1960's and 1980's, Poston was a Captain in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
I had no idea about Tom Poston.. I think he looks and sounds a lot like his father. I didn't see him starship troopers but I did see him in a episode of Charmed. In season six where they go back to see Penny as flower child. well, Jack had to have a backstory - and this is as good as any, I suppose...sure made for some good heart-to-heart convo's with John...she is a tortured soul... 😕The story played well into those scenes, but I really hope we won't have an ongoing thing with her emotional rollercoaster. If that's how she is, she shouldn't have passed the psych eval, though she was probably able to fake it.
I understand it too but wouldn't something trigger it later as PTDS? Some have said they see a romance blossoming between Jack and Gibbs? I am not there yet. I am soooo glad to have seen the complete exit of "Toddler/Teenager Abby"! she's really easy to watch now; too bad she's leaving now that she's portraying Abby as an adult woman...Definitely an improvement.
I definitely Agree...I also believe she could have done something about it long ago. I know all the arguments but this is not the Hollywood of the "Golden Years". I know a lot of people who have stood up in their shows about things that needed changing.
and speaking of her leaving:some of you are thinking that the writers should be building up to her departure from the show...why does my gut tell me that her "farewell" is gonna' be a "One & Done" episode - or a 2-parter - - max...If not created in the last 5 minutes of her last episode.
I don't have a good feeling about that at all. none of my/our business, but it sure would be interesting to know what went down between MH and PP - not that we ever will...but their lack of appearances together in scenes is certainly "an elephant in the room"...Nah, not the least bit conspicuous how Gibbs went to autopsy to see Jimmy (remember he didn't know Ducky was there), gets told he needs to check with Abby, walks to the elevator, gets in, and McGee walks out of the elevator on Abby's floor...
****Someone asked or wished that she would come out and tell us exactly why she is leaving and the circumstances but I pointed out that NDA would prevent that. and DiNozzo was right! remember what he used to say? 😄It's always the wife.nas

My 2 cents:
I enjoyed the episode, even if it was a return to the old formula, where the perpetrator is someone we are introduced to early in the episode - only this time there was a twist - the wife and the brother.
Did anyone else notice how orange Busey's character's makeup was? Were the writers making a statement?
I fully expected Gibbs to go directly from autopsy to Abby's lab. The fact that he did not was glaringly odd
Torres is becoming the new Abby. He swerves from being highly professional to profoundly unprofessional.
I really liked Drew Carey in this episode. I'm hoping we will see him again.

I am wondering if the one and done is going to be standard procedure for the Core Four minus MH. They did that to MW and even wrote his character out of character. It is starting to look like that might happen to PP. It would be less likely to happen to DM. That is what has been going through my mind.
