Some off topic posting in the Season 15 speculation thread lead to Galavant, and usmcbrat has at least seen it, so I went ahead and gave it this thread.
Truthfully, I didn't start watching until the series was already off the air. It started four years ago and ran two seasons, then last year the actress who played the main villain got a semi-regular role for the 4th season of AoS. The discussion on the AoS board mentioned her Galavant character several times and I got interested enough to check it out. For me the first few episodes were a little slow going, but I was binging by the time I got to the second season. It's a musical comedy set in medieval times with heavy influences from Princess Bride, Monty Python, and Disney movies - the Disney most apparent because they did the show and Alan Menken who has written pretty much all of the Disney songs since Little Mermaid is behind the music.

There are also some Mel Brooks influences as well - you will see them if you have see Robin Hood:Men in Tights. I thought Joshua Sasse (Galavant) Timothy Omundson (King Richard), and Luke Youngblood (Sid) were especially talented, but the whole cast was incredible. Since it is on Prime video, i might just have to go back and re-watch. Unfortunately, I don't know if we will ever see the extremely talented Timothy Omundson on screen again after his stroke.

She didn't get to stretch quite as much as the others, but Mallory Jansen (Madelena) is quite good as well. It would take some explaining for someone not familiar with the show, but in essence she played 4 different personas on AoS, and nailed them all. I hope Tim O. makes as complete of a recovery as possible from the stroke and perhaps can play opposite Tad Cooper again.
As for influences, there are tons of references to all sorts of things, even The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Menken also reuses some of his previous melodies, which was frequently less apparent hearing them on Galavant than if you go listen to the older songs after hearing them on Galavant. I at least completely missed the familiarity listening to 'He was there', until I happened to hear 'Be Our Guest' sometime later, and 'Jackass in a Can' grabs pieces of 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'.

Thank you for sharing this Hari! It is so wonderful seeing him again. I don’t watch “‘This is Us”, but I will seek out that episode.

Thank you for sharing this Hari! It is so wonderful seeing him again. I don’t watch “‘This is Us”, but I will seek out that episode. I'm glad someone else enjoys the information. I took a quick look at the 'This is Us' information and he's in three episodes - 4.03, 4.04, and 4.08. And he wasn't joking, the Psych II movie is indeed showing as 'Lassie Come Home' on IMDb.
