Since I'm not a foodie I'd much prefer a well-lit diner where we can see each other (and hear each other as even the nicest restaurants are LOUD) while we eat simple but good food. For me it would be less stressful (first, early dates are rather nerve wracking for me).
There's a similar diner to Gibbs' near me (24 hours) and if a date wanted me to suggest somewhere, this is what I would suggest. Grilled cheese sandwiche, steak fries and a black and white milkshake.

1) I hate the blatant "shipping" between Bishop and Torres... 😡 they make them both sound childish... in addition to Bishop saying, "I don't think about you at all...", Torres says, "Bruckner is my friend, not hers..." what're they? 12 years old!?
5) the family attorney was beyond creepy! he was over the top ignorant! ditto, the dude who supposedly got beat up by Billings (but was beaten up by the sheriff) - looked and acted like a moron...
8) either Torres is really, really cheap OR Annie is a cheap date! or both!! they're in the diner to "celebrate" closing the case, and it doesn't warrant dinner in a nice restaurant? just a $25 meal in a diner? wow! classy!!

1. I agree, but after a little thought decided it's more like McGee and Abby than Tony and Ziva - they go on their own dates then get jealous when the other does the same.
5. The dude who got beat up and claimed it was Billings was a moron - it was stated that he'd been arrested several times for drug possession. I'm also betting he would have soon ended up on the list of 'loose ends' that needed tied up.
8. Annie stated that SHE was taking Torres out to celebrate, which I take to mean she was going to pay. I'd say it was good of Torres to pick a reasonably priced place if that was the case and save the expensive place for when he takes her out (assuming he does).

It's like the ghost of GG is haunting the writer's room.

I guess I didn't hear Annie say that she was taking Torres out to celebrate, Hari, and I just don't want to go back and watch that scene again to listen for it - twice was enuf! so, I'll just take your word for it...
like I said before, they had to write that scene in the diner; how else could they have had that little "Bishop is jealous" moment...
frankly, I don't care if Torres ever takes Annie out again to the finest restaurant in town - or if they start a torrid love affair! this is soap opera territory, and I don't want to go there with any of them...
edit: I just remembered something! Annie is an attorney; she just might be making more $$$ than Torres, and if this is the case she can probably better afford to pay for dinner at a fine dining establishment... 😉

I actually just watched the episode, I am a little behind but wanted to catch up so I can watch the next 2 episodes on time.
I enjoyed it, but please don't go the shipping route with Torres and Bishop.
