I had had the weirdest thought yesterday, and I just had to share it with y’all; it’s kinda sorta off-topic, but not really...
so here ‘tis:
we’ve been discussing the rather obvious rift between MH and PP this season, and the fact that not once have they appeared in a scene/in the same room together, right?
here’s an interesting fact that some of you may or my not be aware of:
there was a television series called Dexter (2006-2013) that starred Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter; they played brother and sister in the show... well, during that show’s run the two actors, Michael and Jennifer, fell in love (IN REAL LIFE - not the characters) and got married... after 3 years they divorced, but the show continued on for another 2 seasons... YET Michael and Jennifer continued to act together right up until the final episode of that show aired!!
see where I’m going with this?
apparently something happened between Michael and Jennifer that ended their 3 year marriage, but they were able to act together in scene after scene for a whole 2 years!
now, that, (in my opinion) is professionalism in acting... the reason for their divorce is unknown to me, but last I heard people don’t usually get divorced for “good” reasons...
so, the point I’m making is if those two actors could carry off their on screen performances under what was probably a very stressful situation why couldn’t Mark Harmon and Pauley Perrette do it? we will never know what their “problem” is, and no matter whose fault it is the whole situation between them not appearing on-screen just smacks of juvenile, totally unprofessional behavior...
they are both highly paid actors - so ACT already, ffs!!!
did you like my little story? I hope so... 😊

This happened on another show in the 90's titled "Renegade" staring Lorenzo Lamas. He was married to Kathleen Kinmont when the series began in '92. She also stared in it. They got divorced in '93, but she stayed on the show until '96. The show ended in '97.
Just another example for your point.

yep, good one, pd!
add to that the “infamous feud” between Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis... they were on Moonlighting for 4 seasons, and managed to appear on screen quite successfully... rumor has it that even Fred & Ethel hated each other while appearing on I Love Lucy!
just points out how ludicrous (and dare I say childish) this business between MH & PP appears in retrospect...

I think this one is on PP and not MH
Why? Because of MW's last season. The tension between MH and MW could be cut with a knife, yet both had scenes together the whole season and then we had the craptastic DiNozzo farewell and the scene in Gibbs basement, where MH hugged MW.
There was some kind of fallout between them, yet they tried to act professional.
Based on this, I don't think MH was the problem here. But I can totally see PP acting this childish and petty because she hasn't gotten what she wanted in the first place and that was her kneejerk response. Probably the reason (besides NDA) that she won't give a peep about her reasons to leave.

PP liked playing the quirky, childlike Abby and the new showrunners decided it was time for Abby to grow up a little bit. PP didn't like that and though MH would back her up, but instead he thought she should grow up too. So, she threw a hissy fit and decided to leave. She only agrees to a farewell season on the condition she has no scenes with MH.

I'd imagine that when MW was around he probably kept Pauley grounded and under control, she said they had apartments in a complex together as neighbour's. When Michael met his wife and started to grow up, Pauley was a bit left behind. She is a fairly "cooky, scatty" personality and the new cast have lives of their own, Emily, Sean, Brian are all married, David, Rocky and now Maria are probably a bit old for her social group, Wilmer, who knows! Mark would probably not mix much with any of them and (I wish I could find the article) he did say he had reached the time of his life where he does not have to work with "jerks" anymore. So after 14 years of oddness, perhaps he just gave up. I don't think he will miss NCIS when it ends, he probably enjoys the money and while the viewers do keep watching he knows it keeps a lot of people in a steady job, both on and off screen. Who is a t fault, it is probably a bit of both and I for one thought this season worked without them being on screen, not sure how hard that would have been for everyone to keep it going for more seasons, perhaps they thought the series would have tanked by now so it could have just faded out.

I agree with this very much...As much as i love Mark Harmon. I am not so blinded by it all to think that he can do no wrong. It takes two to have a disagreement and it takes two to repair it. I have been told that some don't want toxic relationships so they need to remove it. This is what both of them have decided to do.

I could see PP being more of the issue here, mchnelson personally I don’t really think MW has really grown up that much, no offence, I think he is more annoying than ever, it that’s just me. I guess we will likely never k ow for sure what really went down behind closed doors.

I guess we will likely never k ow for sure what really went down behind closed doors. Grown up, more in that he is married with young children now, that he seems to be a father to this time. Trust me I’m not an MW fan and even the ads for Bull in the U.K. airing of NCIS annoys me.

To each their own, I still do not see him as any more grown up, he still seems to love the same Hollyweird lifestyle he always has, but again to each their own.
