I am guessing by now, many have wondered why I have never commented on this lackluster, weak, and weird season. I have waited until this episode to make any comment. To be honest, I have actually only watched (or napped) through 14 of the episodes this season. In the past I have threatened (even back on IMDB) that I was through with the show. Considering it hasn't exactly been part of my viewing pleasure this last season, I guess I did. I haven't watched any of the episodes live since Mid-March because frankly, Masterchef Junior was much more entertaining.
i had hoped that Gibbs had given up channeling the Ghost Whisperer and Medium after Mike Franks (and Muse Watson) disappeared in season 15. Well, apparently not.
I can't wait, well actually I can, when he conjures up the rest of the ghosts in his life in the next 15 seasons of this show, that should be euthanized and put out its misery.
As I watched this episode I kept thinking, in the love of God, all that is holy, and if nothing else but continuity, WTF is this? What a Cluster F***.
Over the years we have all heard of shows jumping the shark, or movies nuking the fridge, but this show went way beyond that with its season finale to a horrible season, it brought in the flying monkeys in the last few seconds.
I was fearful that Ziva would crop up again after "she" and I was right. Bring in the flying monkeys.
I'm not sure I won't watch again, but I definitely will never look at this show the same again.
Just my 2 cents.

In some ways I’m in mourning over a long-dead loved one that I just now found out had died.
They seem to think this is drama that deepens Gibbs when all it does for me and my never posted to message boards sister is make Gibbs look bat 💩 crazy.
At this rate maybe the whole series will eventually be revealed to be a coma dream from being blown up in Iraq and when he wakes up after decades (ala Men In Black) Shannon and Kelly will be there with him.
Hey. It’s no crazier than they’ve already done.
Question: Wasn’t her hair straight and much lighter the last we saw? Wasn’t she dressed in this episode like she was when we met her in S3? Her hair was a bit longer last night but it was back to being bushy.

wow, NewBe! she’ll really be back? I’m totally amazed... I wonder who TPTB was that decided “Yeah, let’s get CdP back again.”
yep, I know how you feel about it, but I hope you won’t stick to your “I’m out!” if her return is only imaginary - and brief...
nas
If she's a "fellow" delusion sent in by Delusion Dead Diane then I probably won't leave.

pardon me if this sounds like a dumb question, but the episode was titled “Daughters”, - plural... right?
so, who was the other daughter?
was it Kelly, who Diane mentioned a couple of times, during her “sessions” with Gibbs? telling him - no!, insisting! - that he kill the drug dealer who gave Emily the drugs, the same way he killed Pedro Hernandez for killing his daughter...
OR was it “Ziver”, the agent who thought of him as a “father”?
I’m lost...

@nas and @newbie, if you stick around for next year let me know how it goes. I guess I will see it year after next when it shows up on USA Network during my afternoon nap. I already deleted NCIS from my DVR record list.

hey, dude!!!
I actually thought you were happily retired and taking your afternoon naps on the island you bought in the Caribbean...
seriously, so glad to hear from you!
I presume you’ve been reading the posts here at the NCIS Break Room (even though you haven’t been posting yourself), so you know what we’re thinking and saying...
depending on how that first episode of season 17 goes, I don’t know whether I’ll stick around or not, soooo...
sending you lots of...

Maria Bello (Jack) pretty much said it was going to happen last February on THE TALK.

OMG! if this is really happening, then I am one of those who will be anxiously awaiting the Season 17 opener...
not because I ❤️ CdP/“ninja-girl”, but because I’m dying to know what bull 💩 story the writers are going to come up with to justify her absence, and leaving her 2 year old daughter to a father who never knew she existed...
ohhhh, this is gonna’ be gooood!!

nas Want to bet the writers forget everything that has happened the previous 16 years concerning "ninja-girl"? I'll keep reading and then make up my mind, but I admit this does get me curious.

I actually enjoyed the episode... right up to the last 30 seconds!
The opioid storyline was timely and I'm glad they didn't go with the Emily as victim solution. I love Spano's appearances. However, as a long time hospital nurse, Fornell's behavior in waving the weapon and making threats is not tolerated! That's a trip in police custody and a ban on returning to the hospital for any reason, even if charges aren't filed.
NCIS involvement in the case was really not justified but we knew it would happen. It was great to see Ducky. I also ROTFL when I saw Kacie's science evaluation algorithm.... AMEN sister!
I hope ninja girl is another hallucination. Just don't see any way to justify bringing her back (or Tony). If they try to add her back into the cast next season, I will be done with the mothership... Just saying...

I agree with Sukismom. The Opioid storyline was not only timely but well handled except for Fornell waving the gun. Ninja girl is jumping the shark, but they really did that when she was first mentioned this season.
