I’m beyond tears. My grief mixed with anger is deep down internal. So, you all agree with this response of rioting, destruction of property and out and out theft?

No, I do not support the rioting, destruction of property, and theft. My state is being destroyed, this whole thing is a tragedy. The reaction of rioting is unacceptable and downright terrifying.

No I do not agree with it. At all. It really saddens me and people will get hurt.
But I also don't agree with the murder of innocent people ..

for me, this describes perfectly what has happened over the past week...
> people have been getting edgy as a result of the CV-19 pandemic and the “shelter-in-place” orders...
> add to that the brutal killing of George Floyd, recorded and shown to the people of this country - and, BAM!! - there you have it! a perfect storm...
I am still 😢 & 💔 & 😡... but more than anything, I honestly have no idea how this is going to turn out - and that honestly scares the bejezus out of me...
things have gotten pretty ugly here in central Phoenix... I hope, wherever you are, that you are doing o.k....

Well a couple of places had demonstrations in support of mr floyd. Traffic was halted on a part of highway because people were demonstrating or protesting. A Bridgeport police station was vandalized. MY city's police chief released a statement condemning the murder of mr. floyd but calling for cool heads and reassuring that would not happen here.

I was already very concerned about the possibility of social unrest this summer with all the issues we have already been dealing with due to the pandemic - unemployment, being confined, the sense of hopelessness right now. Add to it the brutal death of George Floyd and there was an implosion.
I am also worried because many of the areas of protests are areas that are statistically hard hit by health issues and high cases of COVD
The protests in Newark were non violent but not in NYC, although it was not as violent as other cities.
I have a phobia about angry mobs and mob violence - it may be because I was a young child in the riots in the '60s but remember them clearly.
While I have no issues with the protests I hope the violence comes to a quick end before more people are hurt or property is destroyed.

😢 💔 nas Hell yes, I’m home. Go to grocery and Walgreens - masked. Occasional evening walk. Also masked. I’ve done curbside pickup at my favorite hamburger joint here in FL Yep , masked for that too. I have a few pet sitting jobs coming up in the next few weeks. Too many idiots back at Fort Lauderdale Beach - not a parking spot to be found on A1-A near my sister’s place.

The second wave of the last pandemic was spurred on by celebrations for the end of World War I. I don't see this going well. We are still basically in lockdown - just beginning to ease up in NYC/NJ area. Large gatherings are not going to help out at all.
I have been home. I go to work - masked. Face coverings are mandatory here for everything, although when I walk in my neighborhood (esp with 2 dogs) I can easily stay 10-15 feet away from everyone so I do not mask for that. Groceries, occasional curbside pick up, essential errands. I am really ready for things to ease up a bit.
My husband has been working from home since early March. He said he has not gotten gas in at least 6 weeks. My daughter has just started back to work (she is retail - ship from store only no customers). She has also not needed to get gas for weeks.
Dealing with the pandemic has been overwhelming .... now the sadness over the George Floyd murder, the riots, the violence. The feeling that we have not made any progress at all even though this happens again and again. Not an easy time right now
