I honestly don’t know how I felt about this episode…
I knew Palmer and Kasie weren’t going to die, but getting to the “life saving antidote just in the nick of time” was - well….. what did I expect?
they had to write them on the brink of death so Palmer could make his uber-emotional “helpers speech” to his daughter…
and speaking of Victoria, tho’ they didn’t mention her age, she wasn’t portrayed as a 7 year old child - which is what she should be if they’re sticking to canon…
she looked, acted, and behaved like the 11 year old child that the actress actually is…
I realize I’m generalizing, but there’s usually a world of difference between a 7 year old child and an 11 year old child; the level of intellect and sophistication is appreciable!
one more thing:
it bothered me - a lot! - that they would write a child watching her father die an excruciating death…
I realize they were going for the emotional, heart breaking effect, but c’mon! that was horrific!!
if that happened to me as a child, I would carry that memory with me for the rest of my life!
it was not pretty!
bottom line:
in writing this post, I’ve come to the conclusion that I really didn’t like the episode - even if it was supposed to highlight Brian Dietzen’s “dramatic acting chops”…
