Hinchman #1? What a fly-by-night organization if they can't even pay a Hinchman #2. Geez.

Okay I normally don't post after shows, as I enjoy them and most posters dislike the show and I just don't want to have my enjoyment of an episode ruined.
But this episode was terrible. I didn't even want to hear the end of the Zebra story. I can't remember when there was a more throw away episode..... I'm hoping for better things next week.

I suppose I should start by admitting I'd forgotten Vance had a daughter (and a son who seems to have totally disappeared), so I was interested in seeing how the writers handled the relationship. I thought they did that well. Having said that the plot appeared contrived (although the idea of the patient helping zap the surgeon during surgery was interesting). As usual, a couple of Red Herrings and we've done the captured NCIS agent before (all the way back to Kate, if I recall correctly). Can't say I enjoyed the plot overly much, but the interaction between Director and Daughter was OK.

The Seal in Unsealed and Ari off the top of my head and I think there was another one. Tony was taken by the waitress and also in the morgue with Jean by the drug smuggler. Jenny was taken at least twice, with one being the brother of the guy Ziva murdered in the elevator. I think it was twice for Director Vance with one being by Harper Dearing. Gibbs and McGee got taken on the overseas raid. Abby was taken in her NCIS:LA episode and I'm not sure if Toxic counts. May as well throw in Bishop and Torres in those basement jail cells.
Did I miss anyone? Not sure if Ziva by Saleem counts because she wasn't officially with NCIS at the time.

We also have Jimmy and Kasie in the diner with the jewel thieves (that sounds like an answer in Clue). Ducky (along with Jimmy) is picked up with a dead body that he has to cut open for a key in one episode. That only leaves the 2 new people (Knight and Parker) but the season still has several episodes to go. Getting to be a redundant plot, isn't it?

“wash, rinse, repeat!” there’s only so many plots to come up with over a 19 year period, I guess…
and there hasn’t been a Kaboom! in a while either… it’s about time, isn’t it?
eta: as for the episode itself, I expected nothing else; imo, it was over-acted and entirely predictable…

Was the last "big bang" when Parker first arrived and told the team that it was a BLAST working with them, and the van blew up?

yep, that was it, BobNOT - FOURTEEN episodes ago! that’s gotta be a real “Kaboom! dry spell” for NCIS… 😉
and as verdun mentioned, just where is Leon’s son? 🤔

nas He's a few years younger than the daughter, so he should be away at college somewhere right now. Most likely his academic advisor is Chuck Cunningham.
