I just got a notice in my email that NCIS posted on Twitter… it said a 3-way crossover between NCIS: LA, NCIS, & NCIS: Hawaii is in the works!
I, for one, won’t be watching that 3 parter… I never watch the LA version, have decided the original version isn’t on my “must see” list, and the Hawaii is fast approaching “take it or leave it” territory…
I really don’t like the “gotta’ watch both” to get the full story - and “have to watch all three” is out of the question…
so, what do y’all think of their 3-way idea - and how many of you will watch it?

It could he interesting, personally, I lost faith in NCIS long ago. My hopes aren’t high for a good episode.

A few years ago I would have been thrilled to see a crossover (then with NOLA, of course before Pride went down the rabbit hole and made some of Gibbs dumber stunts look positively sane). Nowadays, no thank you!
LA's storylines too often are absurd and Hawaii is.... argh too many things that needs to be improved.
Not to mention there's a whole lot of writers who will mess this up even further.

Not a chance! I don't even know when NCIS:LA is on anymore...

Doubtful.... I have no desire to watch LA or really Hawaii to finalize a poorly executed storyline..... I can see how it could work if they were all on the same night but they aren't. I see this as a reason to send lots of cast and crew to Hawaii for a vacation...... a tax write off.... good for those who get to go.... I guess...

I remember they did this with the three CSI shows (Vegas,NY, Miami) a while back with Fishburne starring all three episodes. It was terrible and was further impeded by the writers' inability to put their 'big star' in a non-leadership role. He was supposed to be the newbie and even the top bosses were essentially reporting to him.

Not only in the crossover, the whole time he was on the show did this happen. I stopped watching the show when he was on it and returned only when Ted Danson did take over.

Didn't NBC do this with all three of their L&O series recently? I don't know if I will watch it or not. I noticed that LA has been airing on USA certain days of the week. NOt sure if its completely off of IOn.

Yeah, just saw that myself.
I dunno...lately the crossovers seemed to be forced. Didn't see why they had to open up the season with the crossover to NCIS:Hawaii. Ok, I'm sure it was probably to help boost ratings for that show. But storywise, I didn't see the need for it.
And a 3 show crossover? I think that is pretty ambitious. They can barely write a coherent story for just one episode lately. And some of us don't watch the other shows (I've watched maybe half of Hawaii's episodes and haven't watched an entire LA episode in years).
Probably will just watch the NCIS mothership one and then watch the other 2 at a later time.

🤔 isn’t it presumptuous for the creators/writers/TPTB to think that viewers are watching all the iterations of the series, and are interested in watching these 2 or 3 way crossovers?
I remember back when I used to watch Chicago Fire (2012) (I don’t anymore), I had absolutely no interest whatsoever in watching Chicago P.D. (2014) which followed right after - nor did I start watching Chicago Med (2015) when it was created…
so 2 or 3 way crossovers are completely lost on me, and I’ll bet on a lot of other viewers, too…

The oldest example that I know would be The Six Million Dollar Man with The Bionic Woman back in the 70's. I don't know if it counts as 3-way, but there was one with the Fem-bots where it started on Bionic Woman, had part 2 on 6MDM, then went back to Bionic Woman for part 3 as the conclusion. I'm sure anyone who only watched 6MDM was confused by only getting the middle part.

I’m sure they were confused, Hari - especially if they weren’t making a big deal of advertising them as “crossover episodes “ back then…

nas I quite honestly don't remember. I do remember that Bionic Woman was broadcast immediately after 6MDM on the same channel (ok, the same way Hawaii is right after the original NCIS) at the time they did the Bigfoot crossover, so it was just like a 2 hour tv movie back then.
