It’s snowing in MN right now, anyone want some? I’ll share with you. Thankfully, it’s not too bad, and the roads aren’t too bad, slow moving, but nothing too terrible. Not thrilled about snow in Oct. though.

A woman I know said a man she knows said the persimmon seeds say it's going to be a bad winter this year. You are getting snow already? And it's not even winter yet!

no thank you, ballerina! I am not a fan of ❄️❄️❄️! but feel free to send some to my grandoggie Buck in South Carolina - he ❤️❤️❤️ the stuff! he lives for the few times it leaves a blanket of it in “his yard”…
up north in Flagstaff the temps are falling fast and they’ll be getting snow pretty soon; those poor folks up there suffered some devastating flash flooding this season 😕… if it isn’t one thing, it’s another for them!
all things considered, I’m glad I live in southern Arizona - I’ll take the 5 months of 100°+ temps 🥵 over one day of ❄️ 🥶 anytime!

I read that northeast states will be getting snow sometime soon. About 5 or 6 years ago it snowed here at Halloween time and it was cancelled that year

nas: I would love to send Buck some, unfortunately it melted very quickly.
kate06460 in 09’ or 91’ MN there was a blizzard on Halloween. I don’t remember it as I was only 4 or 5, but many kids still went out to get candy. Including my siblings, myself, and the girls that lived next door. I’m not really sure why our parents dragged us all out, but we did get a lot of candy apparently.

I don't specifically remember snow, but probably had that. I definitely remember having a winter coat over my costumes back in the 70's. Also, back then the bus didn't drop everyone off right at their door; the bus stop was about 1/2 mile from home and on Halloween that meant wearing a costume to school, taking along a pillowcase, and trick or treating during the walk home from the bus stop. Most families were single income, so there was someone home and we didn't have designated hours. I also remember some years of completing the rounds early, going home, switching to a different costume, and going back out.

The Northeast had a fluke snowstorm Oct 29 2011. I remember it clearly because my mother fell in it and fractured her shoulder, she never regained full use of the arm and it was the beginning of her demise ... I also had her her with me and no power for 5 days. Good times
My microbiology professor said snow in October in this region means no snow the rest of the winter ...
I don't mind the cold at all but am well past snow and ice. No thanks.

A little cold I am okay with, but MN gets far too cold for me. I don’t really like the snow either, a little is fine, but again we get so much in MN.

I wouldn’t put a money bet on what your prof said, luckysmom…
Mother Nature is going through “the change”, and her mood is foul! no telling what she’s gonna do these days…

Thanks for the offer, but no thank you! You can keep it. I totally hate snow, I don't need it in my life. I also could do without the winter season in general. Let's have a long autumn instead.

😂 long autumn sounds like a plan, jessielee… we could have five more months of October, then swing right on in to April - oh yeah!

nas Probably should make it September instead. Even MN doesn't get snow in September, plus stretching the MLB playoffs to 5 months would make them almost as long as the regular season. Also, for those of us still working, September has the paid Labor Day holiday and it would be great to have four more of those.

making it September for 5/6 months til April arrives might work for you in Illinois, but here in Arizona we are still well into the 100° mark in September… 🥵
in fact, we still have/had 90’s & 100’s in October, and then around mid-month the temp drops significantly…
we even had what weather people called an “unseasonal” heavy monsoon-like wind/rainstorm last week… like I said earlier, Mother Nature is goin’ through her “change” - no tellin’ what she’s gonna’ do next! 😬 😱

nas Why don't we split it evenly between September and October (but make it a sunny October for those who usually have a colder one)? Would work for most people...
