re this episode’s storyline, I’ll be brief:
WOW! convoluted much?! it’s not worth my time to write about how nonsensical it was…
I will say something about the conversation that Leon had with Kasie down in the evidence room: his “words of wisdom” were touching… he was right - - “your future is not a given; you never know what’s waiting for you down the road”… there’s a saying I heard a very long time ago: “You make plans, and the gods laugh.”
I’m not quite sure that I agree with Kasie’s decision to delete the email showing the lab results… for me personally, I’d want to know something like that; it would give me time to prepare, and to let my loved ones know what to expect… oh, I may die from some totally unrelated illness/reason long before the Alzheimer’s took over, but at least I’d know…
well, the episode may have sucked, but the scene between Leon & Kasie made it salvageable…

Wow...it has been awhile since we've had a new episode. I almost forgot a new one was even on last night. Spoilers below for those who haven't seen it yet...

Ok, yeah, I agree it was a bit convoluted once again. But in this case, I kinda liked some of the convolution (if that's a word) in the episode.
This one had a few twists/turns that held my interest. And this time around....I was completely wrong about the baddie! I thought for sure it was the tennis playing doctor. But...nope! He was a one and done guy. So nice going writers -- points for making me look like an idiot there. You know what my next idea was? I thought maybe the wife had a twin and she and the hubby were planning it together. Nope! Wrong again!
While most of the episode worked for me, there were a couple of things that did annoy me. One was the first time the wife was in interrogation, it was mentioned that her fingerprints were on the scissors. Well, yeah, if it was in her kitchen of course her fingerprints would be on it! Sheesh. And Kasie is really starting to annoy me. Look, I know her character has been through a lot. And added to it, she may (or may not) have the gene which might make her predisposed to Alzheimer's. But she's really getting on my nerves. Much like Abby did in her later years on the show. OTOH, I did like her scenes with Dr. Palmer. And her talk with Vance was very well done. I sure would want to know the test results though. Even if I knew I had the gene, I would do everything I could to stave off the disease and buy time until hopefully a cure would be found.
Also, it seemed like a really REALLY complicated way for the husband to try to gain access to that trust account,. He could have easily been caught sneaking that device out of that (you would think) very secure facility. And this was a prototype, right? How would he know this thing would work as intended? It could have killed her. And heck, from the opening scene, it was lucky she didn't kill *him* because of it. That was where the convolution didn't work for me at all.
And I thought the end was predictable too -- no way I could have seen her off her hubby with the axe before our heroes arrived on the scene.
So anyway, the episode still kept me engaged. Despite some annoyances in the plot. So in the end, I gave it a B.

Even more convoluted than that. I had a bout with hyperthyroidism and I had tremors, weight loss, increased appetite, muscle weakness, and a lot of sweating, but no blackouts or violent outbursts. The weight loss is the most common symptom and she had no mention of it.

I like the episode. Like brgjoe I thought it was the tennis doctor. I like that I couldn’t figure out the baddie & this one had me fooled. But if the wife inherited the money wouldn’t he be entitled to half if he got a divorce? I’ll take $5 million!! & unlike others I thought the Kasie’s conversation with Vance didn’t make sense. Yes, I liked the conversation but find it very hard to believe she would ask the director. I mean, do they really know each other that well?

I just had another thought on this comment, brgjoe…
yeah, well too bad he wasn’t the victim of a fatal stabbing - the jerk would’ve deserved it… that would have been the shortest episode in the 20 year history of NCIS! AND he could have received a posthumous Darwin Award! 😂

"nonsensical, unrealistic, and downright stupid." Yep, you could also say those words to describe it as well. Heh. Like you said, I was probably being overly generous here.
And I guess one thing I didn't remember or missed during that convoluted plot -- was that little implant on a time released thing, or did the evil hubby actually activate it from time to time with this cellphone (thought I remember them saying someone could remotely activate it). Because if she did go to the doctor and the thing just randomly put that chemical into her body, you'd think it would then show up on one of the many tests that they'd run when you visit a doctor. Not to mention, if Autopsy Gremlin did a scan of her and found that implant, you'd think a hospital would as well.
I should probably give up trying to make that plot make sense.

Probably the worst episode of the season. And exactly how did the husband get the device in her? The dentist says he didn't do it (and I believe him because he has no training in that kind of implant). So who did it and when will our intrepid heroes pick him/her up? I am getting even more tired of Kasie than I was of Abby. What is it with this show and forensic science?

The plot didn't bother me. After 450 episodes straightforward cases are boring. I liked the twist and was able to follow it from A to B to C. The dentist did do it. He lied. No shock there. I was a little put of by the sore arm. That's a red flag.
Doctors don't always find things. IRL I was born with a blockage in my brain they didn't find until I hit my head and split it open 25 years later. Or more ulcers in my stomach 2 months after emergency surgery. One thing that did bother me was Kasie. Yes, she's been through a lot but lashing out at the team (when her friend was falsely accused) and Jimmy a lot when they were both dying and now this. That's getting on my nerves, but people forgive and forget
