So we see where they go next season assuming the writers come back. Wonder how many episodes are already written? I'm going with none. Writers strike started before the time the NCIS writers usually start.

Writers strike started before the time the NCIS writers usually start. The typical schedule is that the writers start back after Memorial Day (late May/Early June) and filming begins early to mid-July. So if the strike doesn't get resolved soon, that's going to impact fall TV schedules first for the dramas and then for sitcoms (which have less lead time on their scripts to filming schedule). Honestly, that might be what it takes to get something resolved with the networks. Up until now, the writer's strike really hasn't impacted the networks because they've been airing already filmed shows.

I just did a little research on the WGA strike… there’s lots of articles regarding the shows that are affected, but this one covers the NCIS world specifically:
www.monstersandcritics.com/tv/how-will-the-writers-strike-impact-the-ncis-shows/
there are many, many, many shows & programs that will be affected by this strike, and it’s unfortunate on so many levels that it’s happening…
but from a strictly personal standpoint, I really don’t much care because I watch very few of the shows that are mentioned in the articles… and of the shows I do watch, I think the writing could stand some improvement - that definitely includes the NCIS series!
don’t know how long it’s gonna take to resolve the situation, but if it goes on for several months I’m gonna’ have to come up with a viable solution - especially after the NBA 🏀 championships are done in June…

Thanks for the info, nas.
I don't watch that much scripted TV either these days. Unless you think sports is scripted. Which I do sometimes.
It's pretty much NCIS and that's it as far as network TV shows are concerned. I admit I do like some of those "reality shows" (which admittedly are very short on a lot of actual "reality" in them). Shows like "Deadliest Catch", "The Curse of Oak Island", "The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch", "Expedition Unknown", "Ancient Aliens", etc. So I do wonder if this impasse goes on for awhile, how it would affect some of these sort of shows as well.
Oh for any NBA fans here -- I won't spoil anything. But the ending to last night's Celtics/Heat game was absolutely nuts (and incredible!).

now that was a cliffhanger, brgjoe! 😱 the NCIS writers should/could take a lesson from the NBA…

I don't watch any scripted shows other than NCIS ... and no late night or talk shows ...
We used to watch some syndicated tv but we dont even watch that anymore ..
In my house sports are on .. so the writers strike is not impacting us

well once the NBA Championship series is over (which shouldn’t take long if you believe the betting odds) then I’m done with sports for the season… I’m not into ⚾️ or any of the other sports that go on during the summer…
don’t know how the WGA negotiations are going, but as of yesterday, June 2nd, nothing has been achieved or resolved…
so, with not much to watch on tv I decided to drag out my old DVD player and watch a tv series that I absolutely loved many years ago Homicide: Life on the Street (1993-99):
www.imdb.com/title/tt0106028/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_6_nm_2_q_Homicide%2520life%2520on%2520the%2520streets
I bought the entire 7 season DVD set after the show ended, and it’s been collecting dust for a long time… that show had an outstanding ensemble cast and the acting - and writing - was superb!!
imo, it was one of the best shows I ever watched… it’ll be interesting to see if this excellent series has “aged well” over the years - I hope so!

That was a great series! I don't think I watched every episode but remember enjoying what I did watch. I just packed all my dvd's to donate - we no longer have a dvd player ....
