Given that it takes place in Australia I am not surprised they are doing an episode like this. Not going to lie though, the thought of it makes me cringe.

Poll is up.
I liked this one. Snake as a murder weapon aside, I liked the case and how they teased out why the compliance officer was killed and who was involved.

Once again, i thought it was OK. One thing I did like better about this episode that it was less convoluted. Basically more like the "case o' the week" that I typically like about classic NCIS episodes.
There were a couple of things that annoyed me. The old cliche about just when the perp is about to reveal something interesting, he's immediately taken out. Oh, so close! And another when two experienced (I assume, anyway) law enforcement folks are checking out the van, they aren't aware of their surroundings and get ambushed by one gun toting baddie.
But I do like most of the characters. I like Aussie sergeant dude. (am really bad with names, will take me awhile to remember them) Also like the coroner and tech lady (Blue?) Though I thought the stuff with the parrot was highly predictable and silly. Blonde Aussie agent was getting on my nerves a lot of the time. Mackey(?) seems to be always frowning and stoic most of the time. Don't know if that's the actress or just the sort of character she is supposed to play. And what is already getting old with me are the jokes/references about them not having guns. Alright already -- we know they don't initially have guns. Just get the proper permits and let them carry and be done with it. Sheesh.
But already I like most of the characters more than on NCIS:Hawaii. It'll be interesting to see if the ratings hold and how many people came back to watch NCIS:Sydney this week. Also I would love to hear how people who are in Australia are reacting to this show.
Anyway -- despite some things I didn't like, I still gave this one a B. I think this has potential to get better. Especially once some of the characters are more fleshed out.

the premier episode was o.k., but this show just isn’t doin’ it for me…
now I can’t get past Mackey talking thru her clenched teeth; it shouldn’t matter, but it’s the little things, ya’ know?
the rest of the cast - - meh… but I thought the Koala was darling, even if it was only onscreen for a few seconds…

nas I agree, I can’t take much more of Mackey talking through clenched teeth. It’s annoying. Also annoying is JD allowing her to drive. I was annoyed with almost all the characters this week. I’ll stick with it awhile longer.

I’ll stick with it awhile longer. I'll second the driving bit. Not quite as bad as 5-0 where Danno was giving up the keys to his personal car, but I saw Mackey getting in on the passenger side thinking it was the driver side a mile away even though she's been riding in Aussie cars since the first episode. The one thing they did right was the wipers, though there didn't seem any reason for her to use the turn signal at that point. I drove a right side control car for a week in Cayman and at the end of the week I was still turning on the wipers to signal about 1/4 of the time. I'm ok with them now having the gait tracker device, but we don't need to see the device images as 20% of the screen time. Put the koala on the screen for a couple more minutes instead.

Also agree with those who are annoyed with Mackey and the clinching teeth. I don't get why she does that. Is it because she was told her character does this? Or is it just something the actress just naturally does? Regardless it is starting to grate on me as well.
At least there was no interdepartmental pizzing match going on this week. Hope they keep that at a minimum. (probably wishful thinking)

I thought all the actors were Brits or Aussies. Maybe she does the teeth thing to sound American
