Technically I suppose that picture would be a spoiler for the first episode, though I can't imagine anyone being surprised to see them back.

I was thinking the same thing, Hari…
{Spoiler Warning - Click Here} but if she’s back with NCIS does that mean she just stepped back into her old job after a six month absence? eta: my additional thought… so, Knight just goes back to NCIS Headquarters in DC, stops off at HR to pick up her badge and gun, and then goes over to the team’s office and says, “I’m baaa-ackkk!” okaaaay… 😂
wouldn’t she have been replaced by now?

I found this to be a little chaotic but by the books. Did enjoy Leon and friend. And the call back to both his getting shot and Parker's near death experience that they've both recovered from rapidly.

And the call back to both his getting shot and Parker's near death experience that they've both recovered from rapidly. Yes, the wonderful television medicine. People recover in a week from GSWs, broken bones, and brain surgery while in the real world a simple hernia repair is about 2 months.
Perhaps the admiral being the killer got them out of handing over the autopsy report, because otherwise even with Jimmy being an insider I doubt that report could hide the CPR and body having been moved. I also missed it if there was an explanation of why someone who was poisoned had all that blood over them. Leon's friend should have used the plausible deniability excuse for keeping things from him - he's not lying to the admiral when he says he doesn't know what was happening.

well, Hari, some people are just “fast healers”, I guess…. 🤨
no, you didn’t miss any explanation about all that blood… Leon said when the guy fell he hit his head and started to bleed - and he started CPR… the first thought that came to me was, “GEEZ, why all the blood!?” 🤷♀️ it was a head wound, not a “Ka-Boom”! (must’ve been a slow day for the folks in the makeup department, and they had some extra containers of “blood” they wanted to get rid of…)
overall the episode insulted my intelligence - again… made the team look like a bunch of buffoons - and made Parker look like a blithering idiot, not once, but twice! 😡

Early on in Parker's appearances it was stated that he was terrible in front of reporters and this week that was re enforced he is terrible....
Head wounds bleed. I doubt that the guy was on blood thinners but lordy does my partner bleed if he dings his head anywhere.... I carry kotex in the car emergency first aid bag to contain it. Yes, it is ugly but slightly less upsetting than blood dripping everywhere....

What the heck did I just see, Part Deux?
Ok, let me get this straight. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But it was another episode a simpleton like me found it hard to follow. Let's see now. The undercover NCIS agent was killed by the jealous admiral because he was apparently having an affair with his wife. And the other deader was the assassin who poisoned him, who was killed by an undercover agent of Lena's? And the actual "let's kill the deal between Venezuela and the US" was a radicalized former reporter from a DC newspaper? Do I have that right?
Also I couldn't tell if this episode was supposed to be comical or not. Ok, despite having 2 agents being killed. From the opening we see Vance covered with blood. But it's not his -- it's the poor dead dude's from apparently hitting a table. Ok, plausible and stuff. But why did they have to add the blood in there? He was poisoned -- having blood all over the place just seemed like overkill...er, so to speak. Then we have 2 special agents trying to get the deceased dude's body back to the hotel. Alright, a couple of questions here. I thought for sure Vance's office had another exit. Maybe I just dreamed that up. But anyway, why would they need to get his body back to the hotel room? He's already dead -- they could literally just move him to autopsy and literally keep him on ice for awhile until the conference is done. Having him missing to me is a lot less disruptive to the talks than finding out he died there in DC. I just assumed by them trying to sneak the body out was some sort of attempted at comedy(?) As well as Parker's awkward talks with those reporters. As well as Jimmy's super awkward attempts to converse with Venezuelan gov't guy in the autopsy room.
I also wondered why Vance was leading the talks for the US. I get it that apparently this was a project that Vance has been working on for quite awhile now. But shouldn't the US Ambassador to Venezuela or some sort of high ranking State Department official be there? Maybe it was a case of "Ok, Leon -- this is your baby. You see it through. We got other problems to deal with right now.." So I sorta fan-waved that off. And once again, when we see the Admiral there for the first time I thought -- obvious bad guy is obvious once again. Except I figured he was taking bribes either from a foreign government or Hezbollah. Didn't figure on the weird adultry angle. Which brings me to something else -- why not quietly have him dispatched in Venezuela instead of on US soil with all the problems that could come with that? That didn't make much sense to me either.
Another one a bit convoluted for my taste. Though I did like it better than the last episode. So...generously giving this one a C-.

you did it again, brgjoe! once again you reviewed the episode so well, imo… so thorough - - good job!
I made mention of the excessive blood in my post earlier today; wayyyy too much and totally unnecessary…
I don’t think you were dreaming… I also thought Vance had a “Private” back entrance to his office; I guess the writer forgot about that little detail…
um, will there be a “Part Trois” next week? 🤔

Yes he's bad at it so they usually send him out there to do that specifically. I'm surprised the reporters don't just leave when they see him coming.

A few things I liked about this episode: 1. Rocky Carroll is a better actor than most of us give him credit for. He did a terrific job showing Vance sliding between strength and weakness. 2. Parker is indeed terrible at press briefings. 3. Enjoyed watching them try to sneak the body out. 4. Parker has replaced Gibbs as Vance's father confessor when Vance has a problem. I particularly like how he approaches Parker differently than Gibbs when he needs to talk about something non-office related.
Now the other things: 1. I hope Vance's girlfriend does not become even vaguely recurring. Didn't care for the role when she first showed up, don't want to see her showing up much. 2. I've decided the writers ended up with about 2 minutes of extra time with their plot, so they decided to throw in the admiral's villainy to cover the shortness. Don't particularly like Vance's girlfriend, but you'd think they could have added a couple minutes of conversation between them at the dinner. 3. Someone else wondered why Vance was leading the diplomatic talks. I wondered the same thing. The reason given (well, piracy is a navy issue) struck me as strained.

I'm not sure what makes you think that. Vance doesn't have a private entrance to his office. The only entrance is through the secretary's office. If he had one, it'd have been a significant plot point by now and I'm not recalling anything like that!

I could have sworn there was an episode where Vance “sneaked” out of his office thru “the back way”, but I may have been thinking of another show, another boss, llyan…
you’re the expert on all things NCIS, so you would definitely remember something like that… I’m the Historian in name only 😊 - there’s many of you on this board who remember much more about the episodes than I do!

The closest I can think is that outside of this episode nobody ever seems to use the elevator up there. Everyone always uses the stairs from the pen, even Vance. Until they took the body that way, I'd forgotten that elevator was there and was wondering how they were going to sneak down those stairs to the elevator we always see.
