I'm giving this an a, just for taking out all the electrical scene in and of itself.
Also it made giggle.

Not too bad of an episode, even if you know darn well they aren't going to start a nuclear war on the show. That's not to say it wasn't full of errors:
Even though they've done it before, I still find it hard to believe the FBI can make it all the way to the bullpen without anyone getting alerted.
No, a colonoscopy would not be done to diagnose food poisoning. The colonoscopy is for cancer screening and finding Chrohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, none of which are time critical enough for a 3am emergency procedure. Multiple errors in the electrical, starting with the breaker box is going to be along the route, so there was much easier access to cut power in a much quieter way. The sparks jumping everywhere was unrealistic and looked like it was straight out of Star Trek; I was waiting for rocks to fly out of one of the monitors and kill someone wearing a red shirt. Quiet Riot was probably chosen for cost reasons, but both Alden and McGee would have known Twisted Sister's "We're not gonna take it" would have been a far better choice. The walkie talkies were working, so Kacie should have at least used it to say she was on the way with the decoded message and not to upload. There's also no way that FBI jerk wouldn't have had someone down in her lab.
They could have had some other people not on the team helping out - could even be extras who didn't speak.
On the good side, The plot has some major similarity to Crimson Tide, which Rocky Carrol was also in. There was also a series called "The Americans" about Russian sleeper agents in the US which had an episode about when Reagan was shot. In the episode the USSR saw Alexander Haig as a warmonger and were going to launch if Haig got control of the US nukes. The agents lied about having information that Reagan was already out of danger in order avert conflict. Good use of Hubley, though I would have traded all of the filler with Knight and Palmer to see Hubley's efforts recognized.
Neutral: When Parker and McGee were already in cuffs and Torres slipped away, I thought he was going to have a solo 'Die Hard' show and was very relieved when that didn't happen. I also thought "the troublemakers" reporting to Vance's office would be Parker, McGee, Torres, Kacie, and Hubley all together.

I gave this an A too. I just found it entertaining. Loved when Parker told the FBI guy “if you would just take your head out of your ass” & then “slow the roll”. I’m also happy that Torres didn’t go all Rambo & saved the day.

Once you get beyond the far-fetched premise of this episode (World War III), it was a decent episode. Liked the interplay between Parker and Sweeney, especially the scene where they were shouting over each other, and I couldn't tell who was saying what. Loved the bit with the power even if it was a lot exaggerated, it was fun. It will be interesting to see if Sweeney shows up again and what kind of relationship he has with Parker. As with others I was glad to see that they refrained from having Torres take out the FBI singlehandedly. As for the Knight-Palmer exchange, it was, in my opinion, done about as well as could be realistically expected (this said about an episode that had a lot of unrealistic things in it). A move toward resolution with a final resolution is about as far as they could go. Not a great scene, but at least it didn't go too far.

Maybe it's too soon to say that this show has jumped the shark. But I think I read that NASA spotted a shark-like object in geosynchronous orbit last night.
Oy. I feel dumber for watching that episode.
Where to even begin? First, I probably missed some stuff since I was too busy laughing at the absurdity of how this episode unfolded. I mean, sure, you have to suspend some disbelief at times for this show. There have been many times where it was probably a bit much to have NCIS save the day for everybody at times. But in this case my disbelief was suspended, folded, mutilated, and fried to a crisp.
So...they intercepted this transmission that I guess ONLY SOMEONE AT NCIS COULD DESCIPHER. I guess. Maybe. Whatever. Then this guy who was wearing a dragon (I suppose?) costume arrives and says he was in a middle of DMing a D&D campaign when he got the call. I've played D&D since high school, and I've never seen a DM wear a goofy costume like that. Sure, sometimes players would wear costumes that would help them role play their characters. But that's it. Anyway -- don't know why about every time someone is involved in IT, they make them look and act like nerds. But again, whatever.
So they are in the process of decrypting it. And apparently Air Force one can't be reached. And the Vice President is having a colonoscopy at 3AM!? For food poisoning!? BAHAHAHAHA! Umm, I could see getting his stomach pumped. But a colonoscopy is for colon cancer screening. Sheesh. I mean, they shouldn't have to have a medical consultant to know that. And where was the Speaker of the House? He would be next in line after the Veep. And I guess they couldn't get ahold of Vance? If so...WHERE THE HECK WAS THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR!? YOU KNOW, THE PERSON THAT APPARENTLY WILL BE THE FOCUS OF THIS SEASON'S ARC!? It would be the one time where it would make sense for him to get a decent amount of screen time. Actually I thought he was behind the scenes making sure the FBI would get to the NCIS offices so quickly. But I guess that wasn't the case(?)
Anyway, so the Senate Majority leader is making the call to use nukes. Seriously!? For something like that, you would get the cabinet together and along with the Joint Chiefs to discuss such a serious situation. And why would the US do that anyway? Don't we have NATO members who are a heck of a lot closer to the situation and could do that without the US starting WWIII? Which leads me to..why couldn't the US locate these areas using satellites? Was there some technobabble reason why they could do that? If the US Network was down, again our allies would also have satellites we could use. Which leads me to....if the Ukranians took out those sites earlier.. WHY COULDN'T THEY NOTICE THIS BEFORE!? You don't need troops on the ground -- again, there's this satellite thing which we've had since at least the 1960's.
And don't get me started on this losing power thing. The office where I work has a backup generator that kicks in immediately during a power outage. You'd think a place that is critical to national security would have a freakin' backup emergency generator. Also, I agree that "We're Not Going to Take it!" would have been a better choice. Or maybe "It's HAMMER TIME!" Or maybe "Bang the Drums all Day".
Looked like to me at the end of the episode they were going for a Gibbs/Fornell vibe with Parker and that FBI dude.
Anyway -- I thought it was one of the worst episodes of the show in recent memory. Would have given it an F if it wasn't for a couple of things. Knight/Palmer *finally* worked through their issues. Hope that won't be a big distraction now. And heck, I chuckled when the FBI guy called Torres "tiny". Heh. And "Come On Feel the Noise" did bring back memories. And for continuity's sake of remembering that episode with the virus being put into Air Force One. Other than that...YECH!
D- from me.
Edit: Remembered to put in one other thought.

I have to be honest, I feel as though the show jumped shark years ago, but that’s just my honest opinion.
