wow! sounds like the viewership was underwhelmed based on the lack of posts to this episode - - and one score of D! not a word from any of you? 🤷♀️
I’m refraining from making comments/critiques lately, but the one thought about this episode persists: is it really smart for Tiny Torres to be using his work computer to post on MatchMates or whatever the heck that dating app is called? I would think using a government computer for personal business like that is an absolute NO NO! right?

nas I found it really interesting how McGee was telling him that all of their use is monitored when he was using his own work computer looking for dirt on the new deputy director an episode or two ago. Honestly, I thought most of the plot was stolen from an episode of Castle that had a mobster who time shifted plus the number code activating him would be from Winter Soldier.
My high point in the episode was that the writers remembered that Vance had the SCIF button in his office, but they missed out big time on not having Parker say something about expecting the Cone of Silence to come down. Of course, a minute after the discussion in the secured office, the agents are talking freely all over the place about what could only be said in the secure room. I did like the ruse to catch the active agent at the end.
The stupid: CIA guy coming in complaining about the cyber attack and none of the NCIS people saying, "The attack was yours, we just bounced it back." Also, the very end where they tell the son how his father was a hero - the father was a decorated soldier, the kid already grew up with the father being a hero so this should change absolutely nothing.

Also, the very end where they tell the son how his father was a hero - the father was a decorated soldier, the kid already grew up with the father being a hero so this should change absolutely nothing. Well the son spent most of the episode thinking that his absent (and strict) decorated Navy officer father was actually a traitor and Russian spy. He was convinced that his father had spent his life selling military secrets to our enemies. Hearing that his father was a decorated double-agent (for us) who helped to end the cold war changed his opinion for the positive and offered his son some great relief.
Personally, I enjoyed the episode. It was an interesting premise and I didn't realize that they were playing the CIA officer until the end. If felt a little sudden (and convenient that the old spy regained his faculties and memories so quickly but it was fun watching them fool the current CIA officer.
I didn't have as much of an issue with Torres on the dating app at work as it was a silly little runner and it makes the appearance of the made up dating app feel a little less of a plot point from the previous episode. It's actually kinda nice that the important thing (aka the MacGuffin of the week) that they made up for an episode wasn't immediately forgotten like it never existed by the next episode. But I'm also not sorry that he deleted the app by the end of the episode. Fun fact, the dog that Torres had on his profile is actually Wilmer's dog. Sir Marrok (I think). I'm glad to see that Torres is trying to get out there again. He's been moping about Bishop for far too long.
Only thing that was annoying was that the CIA officer was dirty. That part was predictable.

I haven't seen the full episode yet. I was watching the MASH finale, which didn't end until 10 pm.

Probably liked this one better than the other episodes I've seen thus far this season. But that isn't the highest bar to clear. At least I had fewer issues with it.
Continuity points for remember Vance had a "Cone of Silence" in his office. As well as remembering the place was kinda torn apart from last week's episode. Also that Torres is somehow very good at spreadsheets. And that Parker still brings pastries in the mornings.
So, McGee tells Torres that he better be careful that his computer use may be monitored. This from a guy who was searching for dirt on his new deputy director from his workstation. Also Torres just kinda shrugs it off and continues to use that dating site while at work. Ok, sure. And I was alerted that a Google search can somehow bring shut down power where you're at. Guess I'll be more careful of my Google searches from now on.
Obvious bad guy entrance once again. My only question was that was he working alone, or with the guy's son. Glad the son wasn't involved. I actually thought the CIA guy was drugging the Admiral making his dementia worse. Like you know, the CIA has dabbled into drugging people before and all. There were a couple of things that did kinda stick out that kinda made me go "Huh?". One is using a guy with dementia for an undercover sting. Kinda big gamble there. And before, somehow this retired dude can waltz into a high secure area and just access any file he wants to. Once they found he was using a pay phone, it wouldn't have been that difficult to stake out the 6 pay phones in the area. Which leads me to this question, are there actually 6 working pay phones in the DC area? There used to be one in my town, but that was shut off years ago.
Anyway -- it was a decent enough episode. Kept me involved in it for the most part. Despite it's issues, I will give it a B-.

I was prepared to hate this episode when I saw its premise. But I started watching and began to recall all those 1960s, 1970s, 1980s Cold War spy thrillers and began to enjoy the nostalgia. Had the bad guy pegged when he walked into Vance's office and, as someone mentioned above, was afraid the son was also in on it (also glad he wasn't). McGee in 1970s mufti was fun (I had sideburns kinda like that for a while). So, all-in-all not a bad episode.

Since I mentioned the Castle episode, I feel like I should share this photo of newly appointed Deputy Director LaRoche...
Found a short clip:

Just want to add one little tidbit.
I will legit LOL and automatically raise a letter grade for the next episode if McGee still has those phony sideburns glued to the side of his face.

He should at least do a zero-fade on them, if he doesn't want to keep the 70s look... Plus, there are ways to get super-glue off skin. Even if the glue is extra-super, it should work a bit.

Acetone is probably the top way to do it. Rubbing alcohol is also supposed to work, but much slower.
