Maybe she stood in for a bartender when that person took a break. I'm not sure I understand all the grousing about Abby having multiple jobs before she was at NCIS. In one of the first two season's, she and McGee were going back and forth about bad early jobs. Most people have multiple jobs either before they settle into their careers, before or during college, just out of college, in-between careers, or even after retirement.
I've had multiple jobs in my life and could easily have an even further diverse resume as I continue to explore future possible employment opportunities. So what if Abby's bartended and work in a casino? I've sold hobbies, picked up trash, hung clothes on hangers, taught, been a janitor, landscaper, and writer, along with several other experiences. I'm sure several others here could also list more than five jobs they've had over their lifetimes. At least this is some semblance of reality, I would have thought everyone would be jumping up and down at the realism of the episode.

Sneak Peek #1 see above post Sneak Peek #2 see above post After the first peek I looked and was shocked to find that the comedian really does have experience doing stand-up. If the Senator says anything to Gibbs about the comic later in the episode I'd love for them to reference "the good old days" with Bob Hope.During the second peek I was shocked to find the writers still remember Palmer has a wife and family. I'm not surprised. Frank and George have been with the show since Season 1 and are finally able to put all their experience into good use.

And so goes another Christmas episode.
Yet again a weak case because I guess they must be worried about it distracting from the story with the Senator. Or maybe it was just to give McGee and Bishop something to do. It's a little disappointing for the holiday episode not to have Ducky, but it was barely worth the bother of having Palmer in there. Speaking of whom, after giving his opinion on Abby's simulation he should have been clear to go home and just been on call if the Senator's son died. It was certain there had to be some kind of peace made between the comic and the Senator, but the way he saved the comic's life certainly reinforced the 'once a Marine, always a Marine'. And one more thing on the Senator - Gibbs seems to have no shortage of friends in the capitol. At least this one wasn't crooked like Tim DeKay's character. Back to the case - go home for Christmas, people; the victim lived and might remember something after a few days. This one certainly didn't merit the 24/7 treatment.

I can only assume, with the lack of chatter on the board, that most everyone else was either as underwhelmed as I was with this episode, or were out Christmas shopping.

Finally, an episode I really liked, I liked when the heckler was funnier than the comic on stage, I also like Wilmer and Maria Bello, they seem to fit in this show very well, I'm glad they left Burns and Allen back in the squad room. can't wait till next season when Bozette the clown is gone.

I watched the show.... thought the story was a bit thin..... but as it was ending and they brought the Senator to the house of Gibbs I was surprised to see a Christmas tree set up and centered in the window..... the last time we saw a tree was when Jackson came down and set the house on fire accidentally setting up the tree.....

Not underwhelmed, overworked. Busy busy busy for the last few weeks and will be for the next few weeks.
Personally I think this was my favorite Christmas episode.
I also think the show has gotten better overall since Frank & George took over for real (last season they were just implementing what had been story-boarded for S14).

I've been busy as well dealing with a sick feline. My cat of 13 years (and the partial inspiration for my screen name) got sick around Thanksgiving and despite our best efforts, he never improved. Today I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go. Once I've had a bit to recover, I'll re-watch the episode and come back with some thoughts.

I know that's a difficult decision to have to make. I'm afraid I'll be in the same position in a few months. My Husky of 13+ years is nearing the end of her lifespan and is showing her age. I'm hoping she'll go peacefully in her sleep, but if she gets to where she can't get around, I may have to take that step. Deal with the loss, it's personal for each individual, and only those who have been through it understand.

I'm also sorry to hear about your furry companion. My mom also had a full tabby for 13 years who passed a couple of months ago (he was a few years old when she got him, but his true age wasn't known) and even though he didn't like me I miss him quite a bit. My own cat initially looked around for him when I took him over to my parents' house the first time afterward, but he quickly moved on and declared full ownership of his second house.

I'll tell my Elliott to be on the lookout for him on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. I'm so sorry. Hugs.
