‘NCIS’: Diona Reasonover Promoted To Series Regular For Season 16
The NCIS team has made Abby’s temporary replacement permanent. Diona Reasonover, who guest starred in three episodes on CBS’ veteran crime drama NCIS last season, has been promoted to a series regular for the upcoming 16th season.
Reasonover was first introduced as Ducky’s (David McCallum) new graduate assistant Kasie Hines in Episode 17 and was then brought in by NCIS boss Gibbs (Mark Harmon) in the aftermath of Abby’s (Pauley Perrette) departure as a forensic scientist to help out on a case. Kesie called Abby to get her blessing before joining the team on a temp basis. Like Abby before her, Kasie has her own distinct quirky personality.
Reasonover is a homegrown CBS talent with comedy background — she is an alumna of the CBS Diversity Showcase. Reasonover wrote and performed in the 2014 performance and was the head writer in 2015. Her series acting credits include guest starring stints on CBS’ 2 Broke Girls as well as Grace and Frankie, Superstore, Girl Meets World and Comedy Bang! Bang! She also co-starred on Clipped. Reasonover’s writing credits include the Emmy-nominated I Love You, America, I Love Dick and Adam Ruins Everything. She is repped by CAA.
NCIS, which remains CBS’ most popular drama series 15 years in, averaged over 17 million viewers last season. Its sixteenth season premieres Sept. 25.

I know this is going to have mixed reviews from this crowd but I'm going to say it: I like her! As for her Abby-lite personality, I expect that they'll find her own unique voice as they dig into the character over the season.

I'm happy for her... it's every unknown/struggling actor/actress' dream to make the "big time" in LaLa Land, and getting a gig on NCIS is certainly hittin' it BIG time!
that said, my feelings remain the same about the casting of the character to replace Abby, Abby, Abby...
the writers exhibited absolutely ZERO imagination in creating the new character!! they simply created an "Abby 2.0", and I doubt seriously that "Ka-Ka" will act any differently in the upcoming episodes than she did in her previous appearances... for her to now appear appear "adult" and sedate would be totally out of character for her... so, I think we're gonna be seeing the "samo" (look it up) - loud music listening, hyper-active 12 year old forensic scientist down in the the lab...
did I expect anything different? Nope! do I really care? Not really - there are bigger things to concern myself with atm...

I can put with her unless the writers do the multiple Gibbs bit. One character doing that was more than enough.

TV Line covers this as well NCIS: Diona Reasonover Upped to Series Regular for Season 16If they tone her down a bit more (they already toned her down a bit from E17 to E23/E24), she may work out fine. She needs to grow into her character. I would have preferred another casting choice, namely the stellar opposite from Abby. But it's not as if Kasie will be in the majority of the scenes; she even may has less screen time than Abby, who knows right now? There's always the FF button...

I can't say I dislike her - more indifferent but I would have liked someone a little more mature.

Oh dear God no. Not unless they tone her down a bit and make her act like an adult that is.
Somehow I don't see that happening....

I'll reserve judgement until we see how they treat this character. I just hope we do not get Abby 2.0.

I'm a bit indifferent at this point. Hopefully the character will develop and not remain so overawed by the MRCT leader. I prefer the hugs and the breathless first meetings disappear

Good for the actress, but my first response for the show is "Ah, Hell"

I know I am in the minority, but I like her as well. I hope that the writers help Kasie find her own "groove". Remember, a lot of people didn't like Bishop at first either.

I really like that she listens to Motown music. It's a nice tie in to her character being from Detroit and it has a good groove to it! And I think they'll find her groove over time as they (the writers and actress) develop her character voice. Bishop is very different than how she was in her first few episodes.

I'm pleased. Hopefully the writers don't "giant toddler" her.
