I updated the original post with the press release.
Also, how is it that Dabney Coleman hasn't been on NCIS yet? I'm always happy to see him on my TV screen.

As a resident of Pennsylvania, I'd like to point out that you can't sell beer (or any wine or liquor) in grocery stores. Up until recently, beer could only be sold by the case at distributors. The only way beer can be sold at a grocery store is if they have a "restaurant" that is separate from the grocery store, a separate cashier and seating for at least 30 people. Pretty sure the Stillwater General Store wouldn't meet those conditions. Minor quibble but I figured I'd point it out as just an observation.

MN also prohibits the sale of alcohol at grocery stores, unless it is 3.2 beer. But, a lot of grocery stores (and now Target stores) have attached (but separate) liquor stores. We even entered the 21st century by allowing Sunday sales last year!
BTW - Great catch Llyan! It will be fun to go back to Stillwater!

BTW - Great catch Llyan! It will be fun to go back to Stillwater! I remember when I worked in a grocery store in college that we sold non-alcoholic beer. That might be the "near beer" you're describing usmcbrat. The grocery store across the street from me has an attached state store (liquor) and the "restaurant" (I use that term very loosely) with the beer for sale. But let's be honest, it's a six-pack shop that happens to have a salad bar and hot foods bar with seating. It isn't even really closed off from the rest of the grocery store (there are no doors) but I suppose it is kinda separate. As for Sunday sales, we got those about 5 years ago so we're slowly getting better.

I wonder if the young man who Gibbs gave the store to is still the owner?

I wonder if the young man who Gibbs gave the store to is still the owner? Daniel E. Smith (Cal Frazier) well the actor is in it, unless it is a flashback for Gibbs. Curious to the relationship between Gibbs and John Sydney. Is it a last link to Shannon?

Gibbs sure holds on to grudges which is probably part of why he’s so often cranky and closed off. First his father, then Leroy Jethro Moore and now John Sydney (played by the incredible Dabney Coleman - who won my heart).
Gibbs comes round fairly fast but all those years of holding in resentment he was hurting himself.
Ellie and Nick doing the couple thing to - unsuccessfully - watch their “bad guy” was really the only thing in the episode I could have done without.

Another episode that takes Gibbs away from the case and into another plot. As a rule, I like Gibbs involved in the case, but this time it worked, primarily because Dabney Coleman was, as usual, terrific. And again we have to put up with the Torrez-Bishop get together. The bit with the vending machine was at least different. And how about a guy getting killed for doing the right thing.

The bit with the vending machine was different. As soon as they asked why the vending machine was more secure than an ATM, I said out loud that it had drugs inside. I did not expected it to electrocute Kasie though! That was a surprise.

you mean to tell me that LJG never talked to the old guy for decades? that just seems highly improbable... these characters coming out of the blue that Gibbs has “a problem” with is getting kind of old...
and apparently the “bad guys” have a peripheral vision problem... there they are sitting at a table discussing their criminal behavior, and Torres & Bishop manage to walk into the bar with their weapons drawn - and nobody notices?!? that was laughable...
even Dabney Coleman’s guest appearance couldn’t make me score this episode above a C...
nas
p.s.: I agree, NewBe, the weekly Torres/Bishop pairing is tiresome... this week he’s buying her favorite chips - what’s next ?
