Miss this last night, got to see it today on CBS.com.
A few notes.
Twist was done last season, though I must admit, I didn't see it coming. So, well done.
Bishop and Torres, still not sure what I'm thinking about this. I know I was against it at the beginning, and I'm still leaning against it. But in this episode, the paring made sense. Gibbs and Bishop would have been - awkward? - at least, if not creepy. Gibbs with Torres or McGee could have been passed off as a general lunch or business meeting. McGee and Bishop would make sense, but someone had to deal with the electronics involved with a wire, so one of them was needed with the suspect.
Dabney Coleman was spectacular, and his scenes with Gibbs is the reason I watch, to see Harmon work with the great talent they bring in all too rarely. I really didn't realize how old Coleman had gotten. But he was great in this episode.
Still loving what Dietzen is doing in the ME role and Palmer's was of reaching out to Gibbs.
Still not liking Kacee. Sorry, but she hasn't grown on me, and by now, I'm saying this is a fail. Not that they will change it, but the character actually grates on my nerves.
The story was relatively fresh, and the vending machine dispensing drugs was quite believable since I knew a guy once who loaded the old coke machines that dispensed bottles. He would load the bottom slot with bottled beer, and put an out of order sign on that slot. His friends knew about it, and they would buy beer for 10 cents a bottle. (this was a looooooooong time ago) Then the kids that hung around where he worked discovered it and he had to stop.
I have to wonder why it is that when they bring in really great actors, they have really good, or great, shows. Are they writing up to the talent, or do they find really great actors for the few good scripts? Or, would the interaction have been different with a lesser actor?
Over all, a good episode.
