Had a hard time figuring out until the end whether Phineas was involved or not, so that was pretty good writing. Glad that they went the way they did. Only problem with the "happy ending", though... The rich, psycho, REAL uncle is still out there, and will be even more pissed off now...

I haven't watched any of the "Ziva Returns" episodes and have no intention of watching this one. I just can't wait for this arch to be completed and she vanishes for good. I'll read all the comments and then wait for the next episode. You are missing some great Gibbs moments by not watching! I wouldn’t let my dislike for any character keep me from watching Mark Harmon! (And for the record, I’m also not a Ziva fan and am glad to see her gone again.)

hey all...
like promises and New Years Resolutions that are made to be broken, my vow to never again watch another episode about “ninja-girl” featuring CdP has not been broken - it’s been smashed to smitherines!
aaaaand, I’m back with a critique!
I simply could not pass up the opportunity to see how the writers of this “Ziver” departure episode handled it - and what they did with the kid...
true to form they stuck to their version of reality in the NCIS world, and now I will point out my “nas version” of Reality as I saw it...
~ it was all Jack could do to keep from grabbing LJG in the elevator and planting a big wet one on him! up in his face asking him over and over again, “How are you?” give it a rest, girl, he’s just not that in to you!
~ how is it that the team is able to get from Point A to Point B in so little time in their search for the runaway kid? their powers of deduction are truly amazing! in no time they are able to track down the buddy who “sold” him his bike for 14 bucks!
~ and how did “ninja-girl” get to the alleyway to cold-cock the guy who bought the bike (from Phineas) for 20 bucks?
~ it boggles my mind how they can get from one location to another and finally to a bus station in a matter of minutes!
~ the convoluted connection between Zahar (or is it Sahar?) and the boy’s father, who was a prison guard who impregnated her, was enough to make my brain explode! and now the kid has an uncle with lots of $$$ who wants revenge because Zahar killed his brother?!
~ I’m not even going to go into detail about how ridiculous it was that Team Gibbs finally got to an airport just before the scumbag club owner (his name escapes me) was about to board a plane to Canada with the boy... a heart pendant with a computer chip in it? seriously?!
~ here’s a tiny little detail they overlooked: you need a passport to fly into Canada from the U.S., right? so, where did the passport for Phineas come from?
~ and, of course, being the professional that she is Bishop punches the scumbag in the face in front of all the TSA Agents and everyone else waiting to board the plane. cute!
~ and now comes the great “farewell scene”... “Ziver” is saying her goodbyes to everyone individually... I swear you’d think she was Mother Teresa or the Pope! the only thing missing was her bestowing a blessing on them by making a sign of the cross over each of them... 🙄 so leave already and ascend to heaven - or in this case, fly across the pond to Paris!
~ and, of course, Phineas is reunited with the foster parents he hasn’t seen in years without any approval of Child Protective Services or any other legal agency! just a call from Jack and they’re right there to pick him up and take him home! it’s a Miracle!! ~ here’s a prediction: in about 10 years - in Season 27 - Phineas returns as a young man to kill Gibbs... why? because he found out that Gibbs put a bullet between his mother’s eyes, and he’s back to avenge her killing... sound about right?
so, that’s my take on this episode... imho, it was totally absurd, and completely laughable!

nas, I always enjoy reading your critiques
So, I am guessing that Ninja girl gets a free pass for faking her death and surviving illegally for so many years?
How nice that “Ziver” gets to return to her doormat/victim, I mean her love, whom she cares about and loves so much.
🤢🤮

not a word about it, ballerina... apparently it’s a non-issue with the writers; that would require some intelligent/logical thinking...

I’m not questioning your admiration/like/love for Mark Harmon, but seeing him do his “Gibbs thing” by yelling at everybody, throwing things on the floor, and kicking a wastebasket across the room like a small child having a hissy fit is not exactly a “great Gibbs moment” for me...
I notice you’re a Probie and this was your first post... I apologize for my response to you; don’t let me scare you off, o.k.? it’s just that Gibbs abhorrent behavior has always annoyed me - it’s simply unforgivable for a grown man in his position to behave like that... 😠

To fully get the deal with Bishop and "Vic" you'd have to also watch the previous episode. That punch had been coming since the intro from it.

@ pkidelirium...
I don’t think I need to get the deal with Bishop and “Vic”; I assume she had a previous run in with him...
the point I was trying to make is that her behavior as a Federal Agent (i.e. punching the guy in the face), at the airport was neither professional, appropriate, funny, nor cute... imo, she did not look like a “tough, hot chick”, but just like the rest of the episode that little scene was stupid...

nas ... so glad to see you back - whether we agree or disagree I love reading you critiques! ❤️ Please watch and post even if it is negative - I love it! I know I am in the minority,, especially among the some of the "old guard" but I did not totally hate it.... It was not totally believable but it did have some moments. Right now I would be happy for this to put the theme to rest! I was trying to place the voice of Aunt Mickie when I remembered Karri Turner was in the episode

thanx, luckysmom...
in truth, I never really left... I’ve been commenting on upcoming episodes based on trailers & pix that have been posted by llyan and jessielee, without actually watching the episodes... I watched the “ninja-girl” centric episodes out of morbid curiosity - and an intense desire to punish myself... (you might call it self-flaggelation that doesn’t leave any scars... )
but I just can’t watch NCIS any longer because unfortunately I would be writing nothing but negative critiques 😕, and I don’t want people to say, “Oh boy, here she goes again!”
I wrote a while back, it was easier to quit smoking than it’s been to quit our NCIS Break Room board entirely... I ❤️ my board buddies too much to leave ya’!

~ how is it that the team is able to get from Point A to Point B in so little time in their search for the runaway kid? ~ it boggles my mind how they can get from one location to another and finally to a bus station in a matter of minutes! by tv magic! Seriously how long needs an episode to be to see them travelling to the various places in real time? All series do this! you need a passport to fly into Canada from the U.S., right? so, where did the passport for Phineas come from? The club owner was known as Victor Mir to the audience. The TSA agent called him Mr. Halabi. Aka a fake passport. Where that came from, obviously came a second one for Phineas, also under the last name of Halabi as McGee said two tickets were bought by a father and son. ~ and, of course, being the professional that she is Bishop punches the scumbag in the face in front of all the TSA Agents and everyone else waiting to board the plane. cute! Torres wanted to do the same before Bishop stopped him. He even gave his business card to the TSA agent.
~ and now comes the great “farewell scene”... “Ziver” is saying her goodbyes to everyone individually... The one good thing about it: she gave Bishop her " blessing" so hopefully the Bishop haters will shut up now as she was "endorsed" by their holy Ziva~ and, of course, Phineas is reunited with the foster parents he hasn’t seen in years without any approval of Child Protective Services or any other legal agency! just a call from Jack and they’re right there to pick him up and take him home! it’s a Miracle!! Jack stated to Vance and Gibbs in Vance's office she had contacts with several adoption agencies and were going to make a few calls and then went to work. Before the rest of the team went to the airport, she was on the phone to either CPS or one of her adoption agency contacts. So one can assume that during the process of finding them and asking them if they would be fostering him again, CPS was involved at some point and will be after Phin is settled. Pretty sure we will hear of him again as said Libyan uncle with the money will go after him. Really, do you want to see every detail in an episode? Some things can be deducted easily, while others I just don't want to see like DiNozzo showing up with Tali and the reunion, not needed - thank you very much! Tiva/Ziva is a dead horse by now and I want the focus on the current team.
The dumb thing here: to not make sure that Phin is save with them due to the threat of said uncle. It wasn't addressed in one way or the other and that will bite them in the ass, probably with a call from Phin to JethroGibbs that they are being attacked and said uncle or his henchman can grab him while probably killing or hurting the fosters. Libyan uncle may show up in the finale or next season as the big bad.
