I was thinking that maybe one of his bodyguards was banging the girlfriend and wanted him out of the way. Or one of the wife's bodyguards was upset that he was letting her go to jail... I’m thinking the wife had something to do with it too & wanted to frame the GF.

based on some of the comments about this episode, I’m guessing LJG killed someone who needed killing - or it was implied he did...
🤔 hmmmmm... you know, I’m thinking CBS is missing a golden opportunity here... they could age him out of NCIS - I think he’s past retirement age anyway, isn’t he? then he could go to work as an independent by going around killing people who commit a crime and got away scot-free! he would answer to no one - just him and his trusty gun(s) or knife... CBS could name this new show LJGibbs: Vigilante...
so, what do you think?

Maybe Gibbs called in a favor with Fornell so there wouldn't be a timing problem.

I have been thinking Gibbs is past retiring for a while now, but that is just my opinion.

Sort of like that show, Dexter?, about a serial killer who only killed other serial killers only this time it would be about the hypocrite Gibbs who spent decades hunting down and arresting or killing his prey after having - legally - gotten away with crossing our southern border and killing one who got away.

OMGosh, NewBe...yes!! Dexter!
I knew my idea wasn’t original, but I couldn’t think where it came from...
you know, as dark and grisly as that show was I watched every single original episode on On Demand - it was fascinating, for lack of a better word...
do you remember when they tried to put that show on a regular broadcast station? I think it was CBS, but it just didn’t make it because of the language Dexter’s sister used...every other word out of her mouth was the “f-bomb”, and it just didn’t fly with the censors!

Not really fond of the episode - the shipping of Bishop and Torres (enough with the entire shipping bit already) and the implication the Xavier was killed by someone on the team ... Bishop or Gibbs
I would be okay with the state taking him out theory or the wife ... but beyond that no...

Maybe Ziva came back from Paris for the weekend. Ya never know with her. She shows up at strange times.

With how Bishop was so serious with the "I'm going to kill him" bit with McGee in the hospital, then later trying to shrug it off as not being serious, and then finally to just "It wasn't me..." repeatedly towards the end, it got me thinking about her possibly getting Odette in on things so that *technically* it really wasn't her, but she had him whacked. The ominous backing music with Gibbs getting in the elevator at the very end could have just been a red herring, or indication that he knew what had happened. Unless the matter comes up in the next or a later episode, there's no way to really be completely sure.
What really got me thinking about Odette was when they found the body, Palmer was talking about how whoever did it had lots of weapons experience and there was no slug or casing, and no powder burns for such a precise through-the-head execution while Bishop looked on in what wasn't such an innocent expression.

Does Bishop call Ziva’s shed an “office”? If so then perhaps Odette was more likely the killer or arranged it.

The other thing I forgot to mention was that I thought it was interesting when Bishop called out Gibbs for his hypocritical stance against taking justice into her hands after everything he's done. I appreciate that Gibbs pointed out to her that he wasn't exactly happy and that his choices led him to having a boat in the basement and a bottle of bourbon and that's it. I think this is really the first time that he's acknowledged (at least out loud) that fact.

Hmm, Bishop did say she was going to "the office" to McGee at the hospital after their argument, right? Never heard that term used to refer to NCIS HQ but has been used for Ziva's place... And then later, Gibbs told her in the corner to not be like him or something like that, and she said "too late" before walking off. Yeah, I'm thinking Odette.

Bishop's "too late" to Gibbs, her going to the office and Palmers talk about "the killer must have some weapon experience" all point to Odette.

I can't name the episode or even the season, but Just looked it up and it's the end of 'Bounce' in season 6 - I remember an episode closing with Tony saying, "Boat, basement, bourbon; I get it." to Gibbs and Gibbs just gave him back a look. Now I'm wondering if that episode was before Tony found out about the trip to Mexico since I believe 'Spider and the Fly' was season 7.
