well, just when you think this “2020 Sh!tshow” (sorry, folks, there’s no other way to describe it... 😕) couldn’t get any worse, now the entire West Coast is burning to the ground... entire towns are disappearing, and god only know how many human lives will be lost - not to mention the wildlife!
it seems like only yesterday that the town of Paradise, California was decimated in the Camp Fire, but that was back in 2018! I had relatives who lost everything in that fire, and 2 years later things are not back to normal... I saw one guy being interviewed on t.v. tonite who said he’d moved from Paradise to Oregon last year, and now he’s been caught up in this fire... he said “There's not much left to lose.” Jeez! how awful for him... 😢
here in Arizona we are having our share of fires, too, but nothing like what’s happening in California, Oregon, and Washington... thankfully, where I live in southern Arizona I am not in any danger from the fires...
on that note tonite before I hit the sack, I just want to say 2 things: ~ I hope any of y’all living on the West Coast are safe and clear of the fires, and... ~ please keep good thoughts (and say prayers if you are so inclined) for all the people who are living through this nightmare...
you know, between the CV-19 pandemic, the shootings/killings of innocent people and the resulting protests, the political unrest and uncertainty of our upcoming November election, I just don’t know how much more we are expected to take... I don’t know about you, but my ❤️ is 💔...
I send all of you lots of

Yes sums it up, plus yesterday was the anniversary of September 11 and all the sadness that brings...
I feel terrible for all the people in California and Oregon.
I said to my husband early this year we never have a good year in leap years - but who would have ever seen this coming.

I'm borrowing Nas' thread about forest fires in California to post about the hurricane and terrible flooding there now. I have relatives all over that area, two cousins in Riverside and Victorville in particular, and I am worried for everyone. If any of you have family or friends there, I hope they are safe. And to all of you in the spreading path of the rain and flooding, my prayers continue to be with you. The Weather Channel said smoke from the Canadian wildfires was making things worse, so this sort of ties in.

OMG! I cannot believe I started this thread almost 3 YEARS AGO!
and yet, nothing as changed… 😕 planet 🌎 continues to be decimated by floods, fires, earthquakes, and man’s inhumanity towards man… 😢
there is nothing I can say tonight that I didn’t say 3 years ago… but I can re-write what I wrote back then:

And they got an earthquake too! All the channels are showing storms moving all over the western states now, including Arizona, with record-breaking rains. You folks out there going to be all right?

well, larue, as I write this, the 10 o’clock news announced a 5.1 earthquake occurred in Ojai - about 80 miles northwest of L.A. - on Sunday… no serious damage, but it did rattle some nerves - pardon the pun…
here in my area of Arizona we were spared the wrath of Hilary - no heavy winds OR devastating rain, thankfully; a bit of monsoon activity that uprooted a few trees in the southeast region of Phoenix, but nothing serious… in fact, the temps were in the 80’s/90’s today… next week is another story - back up to 110 - again!! 🥵 this will go on for at least another month - even tho’ the news guy just said that some retailers are already gearing up for Christmas, announcing sales and displaying twinkling lights… Seriously?!?! 😡

So much devastation on so many areas of the planet at the same time. Incredibly sad.
Hope you all in California stay safe. Seems like you all either get no rain or a year's worth (or more) of it all at once. Yikes. And yeah, with all that is going on this planet of ours is definitely trying to tell us something.

Sadly it is still heartbreaking, the devastation in Maui, the floods in California, wildfires in the Northwest. I hope everyone stays safe..
Added now is the political circus that is going on with the election next year, and the immigrant crisis (big in NYC area). Not getting political but no matter your views these are human beings, some only children.... Turning on the news is depressing - we usually watch the news in bed but have not done it the last couple of nights so we can sleep....

And here we're complaining about record breaking heat. Considering Maui and the Western hurricane, maybe we should shut up.
