I thought she resigned for helping Gibbs, and going against what she was supposed to do. Go back and re-watch the first episode. The affair turns out to be the key to solving the case.As I do not own the DVD’s nor have any other way to go back and watch, I will have to take other people’s word then.

The poll is up.
This was an interesting one. Definitely a piece of the puzzle rather than a stand alone episode. I know that previews are often misleading but I'm wondering where they're going with this storyline.

I almost thought I was gonna like this episode... the opening exchange between Gibbs and Parker actually made me lol - especially when Parker said “Nice shooting.” 😂
and then.....
Palmer acting like a complete idiot with Kasie started to annoy me... 😠
and then.....
putting LaMere in the back of an SUV with no shield or cage separating him from the driver - - in addition to not cuffing his hands behind his back! Seriously?! looks like they really were taking him to “summer camp”...
doesn’t matter what happened with the rest of the episode - after those two scenes, it was all downhill for me... 😕

I agree completely. Couldn't believe they couldn't at least handcuff him with his arms behind his back. And what's with no undercover chase car following them? Or maybe even a helicopter? Guess NCIS has had some cutbacks or something. I'd at least put a tracking device on the car so I could locate it. Am really kinda over this storyline. Hope they go back to the case o' the week very soon-like.

NCIS doesn't do long story arcs well. This is no exception. It's already gone on too long, so they need to wrap it up next time. Glad to see Gibbs and McGee soloing next time.

Couldn’t agree more with many of the comments. My first thought was… why is the prisoner in the backseat by himself not handcuffed behind his back? Why no tracking device on the car? Is it me or are the writers making Parker look like an idiot?

No tracking of any kind... Maybe put a device on the perp himself, in case he makes a run for it?
And I am still holding out hope that my drug cartel idea is still on the table. Heck, even my wife started agreeing with me during the first part of last night's show...

I’m relieved to know that some of you agree with my comments...
I’m not being “nit-picky” - it’s just that the situations re the prisoner and vehicle tracking are so glaringly wrong!
what is wrong with the writers - and the cast? don’t they see what we, the viewers, see? or don’t they care that the writing is amateurish and simply unrealistic?
I’ve had a problem with “realism” on NCIS before, and it hasn’t changed one little bit... if anything, it’s just getting worse... 😕

nas Is there still an NCIS advisor on set? Is the real NCIS still involved or supportive?

I think "Road to Nowhere" was a very fitting title for this episode.

At this point I am wondering if NCIS lasts past Season 19 ...
There was so much about this episode that just had me shaking my head ...
It started here - and then the entire Gibbs ditching Parker. I almost turned it off at that point because that got to me. You have someone who is on suspension, a loose cannon and has a history of going rogue and he gets sent on a road trip with a prisoner and an agent from another agency and surprise ... it happens again. I did stick with it and watch the rest of the episode, but I really hope the writers go a different route with how they are writing Gibbs.

If you remember a few years back there was a guy who was suspected of a crime that was going to leave the country. He turned up dead in his tub. No one was convicted of the crime. But as the crew was discussing who did it, Gibbs walked by and ominous music began to play. One of Gibbs' flashbacks in the car was of that very death. Looks like we got final confirmation of whodidit.

Watched the show twice now. Did not find it to be as horrible as most everyone here has, but I'm growing accustomed to the negativity here.
The progression of Harmon's exit is proceeding as expected. Fornell got to him last week, this week our suspect did an emotional and mental number on him. The trip to Alaska will be what either sends him off on a self discovery trip, either with or without Marcie, or ends him completely.
Either way, this will become a Gibbsless NCIS mothership.
I thought they did a better job with Knight and her role on the team, and while the move to the desk was forced, it's right. Kasey is still annoying, and Palmer only seems to be right when he's in Autopsy. I was actually as annoyed as Kasey with his behavior in the lab.
Other than that, the progression of the story is moving at the usual pace for the series, and the characters are seeming to gel into a cohesive team.
The one thing I did not like was the flashback to the dead Russian Oligarch. I never bought that Gibbs killed him. The girlfriend was, and still is, the most logical suspect. She killed her sister, tried to have Torres killed, and lied about everything. For McGee to believe her was stupid on his part and to voice his suspicion's to Bishop was even dumber. For the producers and writers to dump this into Gibb's lap was moronic.
I give this one a B.
