so far we’ve seen posts/descriptions of the first three episodes for season 21, but I fail to read anything that indicates a “10 episode arc”…
🤔 I wonder what the “arc” is… 🤷♀️

So the recurring theme is going to be phones ringing at the end of episodes?
I gave it a mid grade, because I was getting lost, and then just checked out of it all together. I'm going to have to watch it again.

Hardly an original episode. I will admit I was amazed when it was acknowledged that the CIA couldn't take the lead on a case in the US.
On the disappointments side, The topic of a possible bad apple in the CIA comes up and nobody at NCIS mentions Kort? I know Parker wasn't around for that, but Vance certainly was. Kacie definitely should have had an agent with her as long as she was the guy's contact. Oh, and not just that Jimmy should know better, but there's no way that wearing heavy duty hearing protection in an area of a government agency where guns are being fired isn't mandatory.

yep, guess so, jennifer…. 😂
I actually kept trying to figure out how they were gonna drag this case out 7 more episodes as they got closer to the end…
apparently, the NCIS writers have no idea what the meaning of “10 episode arc” is….

Yeah, this one was a bit of a mess. And it was too much at times to suspend my disbelief. Even for this show.
First of all this "Walk a mile" stuff or whatever it was called wasn't realistic at all. "Sorry, we can't respond to your emergency now because we got one agent changing light bulbs and another changing the oil on one of our vehicles. Please have your emergency later so we can respond when we're not so busy.." Speaking of which, there is no darn way I am going to believe that Torres was suddenly great at doing spreadsheets. Sorry, no can do. Working on cars and motorcycles and other mechanical stuff. Sure. But fancy-schmancy spreadsheets? Nope, nope, nope, nope..
And then having Kasie at that NCIS call center with basically no training was equally dumb -- especially leaving her alone when something really serious could be going down. And why would the ex-NCIS dude be calling some rando at the call center anyway? He's not an agent any longer. And wouldn't he have other contacts he could trust than someone on some call center duty and apparently on an unsecure line?
I figured he wasn't the bad guy and would be framed. Not only did it happen too soon in the show, but it didn't make any sense why he would be framed for it. Actually I thought the bad guy would be one of those CIA agents we saw at the safe house. So I got that one wrong. Last week I thought it would be the friend. This time it turned out to be the friend/ex partner. But why would he frame his friend/ex partner? Did they have some sort of falling out? If they did, it sure didn't seem like it. And if I were going to go out on some revenge trip (especially when having a terminal illness) I would make it known it was *ME* who was doing it and make it known *WHY* I was doing it. And not frame someone else for it. Just didn't make sense to me.
The meeting of those "Walk a mile" folks was cute, but again was kinda unbelievable they could solve it that quickly. You'd think they would be able to dig up another forensic scientist out there to help with the case. But apparently they have a bunch of budget cuts or something. Darn that accounting department!
Once again I wonder now they introduced this guy who could possibly be a Kasie love interest will appear again or be forgotten entirely again.
And agree that they don't seem to know what "an arc" is. It doesn't mean what they think it means. A phone ringing at the end of each episode ain't it. Not that I mind -- I figure they would probably screw up a 10 arc plotline anyway. In any event, I gave this one a C-. Once again I am probably getting too generous in my old age.

When I worked in the office, and had someone who never sat, I would totally blow up at them and then quit.

It's kind of a shame, but the mechanic, janitor, and accountant with their interactions with the team was the best part of this episode.

It felt like a reference to the movie Jumping Jack Flash to me.And also the person about to die from lung cancer walking around, talking, and continuing to smoke like nothing's wrong. Anyone who is at the stage where he was supposed to be is constantly on supplemental oxygen and would barely be able to walk across the room without getting shortness of breath. And if he does become a love interest then they forgot that she's a lesbian.

After a second viewing this morning, I enjoyed it more. (It helps when my dad's not listening to something on his phone, my brother who is not usually home is playing with the dogs.)
I also enjoyed the interactions at the end withe the mechanic, Gardner and accountant.

#1.loved your review - and yes, wayyyy too generous imo, brgjoe… nothing else I can say or add, so I won’t…
#2. possibly there are some new writers who failed to educate themselves in the characters backstories, Hari, and they missed this one:Kasie revealed she was in a relationship with a woman called Piper (Tess Aubert) who has already made an appearance in the drama. Mar 29, 2022nothing like a good ol’ retcon! next thing you know Breena will be back and furious that her husband is having an affair with “that woman”!
#3. 🤔 does NCIS really have an Emergency Hotline number?

I enjoyed the episode. I like when I can't figure out who the bad guy/girl is right away & this one did have me fooled. I thought it was the CIA guy. Because of this I gave the episode a "B". I enjoyed the end when they team worked with their "Walk a Mile Day" counterparts. I worked in the back office of a bank and we did a "Walk a Mile Day". I was sent to a branch to see how the "front line" worked & enjoyed my day.
