Really good episode last night. I love how they are really taking the time to develop, not only Watson's character and make her much more complex with more depth, but her relationship with her sister, now that she's had more time with her and watching that relationship develop has been great.
The cases this year have, so far, been very interesting and with Holmes problem with the post concussion syndrome, the challenges are much more stimulating to watch.
I've always loved this show, but now it is developing the quality and depth that I wish NCIS still had. Perhaps this is the advantage to keeping the main cast at 4, with the occasional drop in cast member, i.e., Father, sister, the ghost appearance of his mother, Shinwell, Alfonzo.

Interesting episode tonight. It was nice to see Hannah back, part of the B story arc, which I'm beginning to not like. The A story tonight was good, nicely played by Sherlock and co. I'm afraid that the new guy and his obsession with Sherlock is going to start getting old and a bit annoying. I'm hoping I'm wrong.

I don't understand why he wants Sherlock to find the person he killed. What is his motivation? He is just obsessed with Sherlock? I guess it will play out. I am pleased that the Captain called Sherlock on his BS and told Sherlock to prove that he was sorry and was to be trusted.

I think Gregson and Sherlocks relationship works best when they are at odds. It's some of Quinn's best work on the show, when he's locking horns with Johnny Lee Miller. I thought the part where sherlock took out the foul smelling food to find the killer was wonderfully done.
I think it's going to be interesting to see how they play Hannah's alcoholism, is it just a short arc, or will it continue through the season? It's the same question I have about Watson's sister, will they continue to bring her back or was she just a two episode character this season?

Interesting episode tonight. We now have the answers to some of the above questions. And it seems that Michael will be going away for a while to let Sherlock rest up. That's very considerate for a serial killer.
I'm hoping that Hannah's story doesn't finish tonight. It would be a waste of a good story arc for Sherlock and Gregson and would give us more of Miss Bennett also.
One thing I didn't like was Sherlock buying the Heroin to lace Michael with, and Watson being okay with it. For me, there are just certain moral boundaries you just don't cross.
The preview for next weeks episode look quite humorous.

Past two weeks of Elementary have been good. The murder mysteries have been a touch sub-par, with the killers relatively easy to figure out, but the back stories have been quite well executed.
The return of Alfredo is wonderful, his attempt to help his brother and the progression leading to Sherlock discovering Mycroft's fate was very emotional, for both Sherlock and Joan.
I am disappointed that they did not continue Hannah's arch and that they haven't brought back Joan's sister. But the season is young.
And with John Nobel returning next week, the quality of the show and the guests is improving and making me anticipate each Monday night more and more.

It took me until last night to get caught up. {Spoiler Warning - Click Here} I had a feeling about Mycroft, but the way it was written was very emotional, and I like the way it hit Sherlock. He was ready to forgive his brother, and then to find out it was too late. I loved seeing Alfredo again, and I too am looking forward to seeing John Nobel next week.
BTW - what kind of car was Alfredo driving?

Some of the special features on this site can be quite frustrating.
That aside, without revealing too much for those who still haven't seen the latest episodes, it seems that the writers/producers spent the first four seasons developing Watson as a person and character. But last season and so far this season, they seem to be focusing on Sherlock, making him more human. The most recent episode in his life, being the ending of the last episode, would seem to be a trigger for him to break his sobriety. And now with Moreland returning, there would seem to be more stress.
The question I have, and one that will be answered next Monday, is what influence will Moriarty have on Moreland's return, and will She have an effect on Sherlock, or not?

I absolutely agree that the special features are frustrating! I tried to use the quote feature - I couldn't see where I was supposed to type! That being aside, I agree that Sherlock is becoming more human this season. Offering to co-parent with Joan was huge, as well as his generosity with Alfredo. I also saw the huge threat Sherlock's sobriety, but I do't know how large a threat Moreland will be. Perhaps some semblance of peace will be made between them now? It will be interesting to see.

If you have not seen episode 10, air date 6/2/18, read no further. You have been warned.
It was good to see John Noble again. He's been sorely missed. Though limited interaction with Sherlock this episode, they were great together. It seems that the death of Mycroft has brought on a sense of humanity to Sherlock that we have not seen previously. It's a good look, and doesn't diminish the character at all, nor his ability to focus on the crime at hand.
The crime this week was nicely unique and well presented, as were the twists and turns during the episode. All in all, a good show to watch, twice.
It seems to me that the producers went into this season assuming it would be the last, given it is being used as an end of regular season replacement instead of being in the normal lineup. My reason for thinking this is the special quest they have brought back. Joan's sister, Alfonzo, the killing off of Mycroft (even though they didn't bring him back) the return of Moreland, and now, the apparent return of Moriarty. They seem to have thrown all of their good ideas into this season so far, and the quality is clearly seen in each episode. And since it seems that they shot the season during the fall and winter in New York, I'm wondering if they are working on next season now and if the ideas will be as good as they are now. Here's hoping.

I will have to say, I did see last night's show ending reveal coming. And the previews for next weeks show looked good. It will place Sherlock and Joan in a dangerous position, which could lead to a good season ending cliff hanger.
However, While the networks have listed multiple renewals and cancellations, Elementary is curiously not on any list, either renewal or cancel. That awful Madam Secretary has been renewed, but not Elementary.
In my opinion, this has been a great show and has only gotten better over the past three seasons. I loved having Kitty around, And then the addition of Moreland was fabulous. This season with Shinwell has also been intriguing, at least for me.
I'm hoping for a renewal for another season, but I'm not holding my breath.
The only thing I didn't like about last nights episode, was the former "Texas Ranger" being the bad guy. But I know that both Hollywood and New York like to take digs at Texas when they can. Forgetting that we do watch TV down here. Unfortunately, whenever I see Colin Sweeney, I think he is terribly typecast as the bad guy, so I thought of him right away. I do hope Elementary gets renewed, as it does keep getting better and better. And I think Lucy Liu did a fantastic job directing Personally, I hope Moreland leaves everything to Joan's adopted child - or leaves everything to Sherlock and hopes Sherlock changes his mind. Sherlock could still leave everything to charity if he wishes. And wow - {Spoiler Warning - Click Here} She's Back!
