I've started watching NCIS: New Orleans again after taking a one season break...
this season one of the actors, Shalita Grant who plays the character Sonja Percy, is going to be leaving the show...
so, for the last several episodes they have been building up to her departure... the character has been given an opportunity to go to work for the FBI and her decision making has been woven into the episodes... imo, the writers did a great job with the situation, and tonight's episode was well done and kinda sad... 😢
which brings me to the subject of my post:
it seems to me that by now the writers for NCIS should be building up to Pauley's exit, right? so, what are they waiting for? there's only 5 (FIVE) episodes left in this season! are they going to give PP some crap singular episode and make her entire 15 seasons on the show seem small and insignificant?
I'm betting that's exactly what they're going to do! a "one and done", "bye, bye! don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out!" kinda farewell...
admittedly, I haven't been the biggest Abby Sciuto fan, and not particularly fond of PP's personal antics either... HOWEVER, I do think she deserves the kind of storyline exit that they gave Shalita Grant over on NCIS: NOLA...
but it doesn't look like they're gonna do it, and I'm gonna be just a little bit p.o.'d about it... 😕
there, I've said it!

nas it would not surprise me at all if they do the same thing to PP as they did to MW, pretty shameful to be honest.

I hope they do a much better job with Pauley than they did with MW. I really liked the character in the beginning of the show but as time went on they wrote her very poorly and instead of the bright quirky Abby she became very immature and child like. But after 15 years she deserves to be written off well. Sadly I don't see that happening either. I hope at least they don't create a disaster like they did with Michael.

Actually, I was thinking that the destruction of Major MassSpec afforded a reasonable exit story line -- Abby finds out that Bishop and Palmer fried the machinery, and she gets all p-o'd and goes running to "Gibbs x5" to complain, but, since they don't have scenes together, she can't find him... And Abby storms off into the sunset, never to be heard from again...

That would be entirely disrespectful but in keeping with the way they handled Tony's departure. I hope it doesn't. I've never been a fan of Abby the brat but she deserves better. Id rather find that she's chosen to take a civilian job with better pay and benefits.

Everyone needs to remember that the exit of DiNozzo/Weatherly was orchestrated by Gary. He's no longer with us, so perhaps Pauley's departure will be handled differently. Unless, of course, there is a rift between Harmon and Pauley, and we could see boss (Harmon) being petty and shoving her out the door, unceremoniously.

that's exactly what I've been thinking!
like I said before, even Shalita Grant got a nicer departure storyline from NCIS: NOLA!
thus far, with only 5 episodes left for the season, we haven't got a clue as to the reason why she's leaving... if they use the destruction of her MassSpec as the reason I think that's really, really dumb...

what do y'all want to bet that whatever they write for PP's departure she never appears onscreen with MH?
whoever is responsible for this oh so obvious "elephant in the room" - whether it be him or her - somebody is looking pretty "small" these days...

nas, I agree that PP is either never going to appear onscreen with MH or they will but it will be really awkward

nas For 15 seasons all you did was crab and complain about the character, and now you're suddenly concerned about her sendoff? I NEVER liked the character and glad to see her go and I don't care how they get rid of her as long as that 4 year old annoying adult is gone, also glad to see Shalita Grant go, could not stand the mouth that roared, but then they had to make that lanky idiot Sebastian an agent, loved that show at one time, not any more.

well, I guess I had that coming, fanthom...
I admit I did "crab and complain" about Abby, as you put it, and even about how foolish PP sometimes behaved in her real life, too... maybe not for all 15 seasons, but certainly for the last several years... so I can understand how you wonder why I give 2cents for her sendoff...
you know, it's not that I'll miss the Abby Sciuto character; it's more that I'm disappointed that TPTB and the writers are failing miserably in addressing PP's departure... they did the same thing when Michael Weatherly left the show, and it looks like they're about to repeat their actions with another of the "core 4"...
For a series that claims to be CBS' #1 drama, I expect better from them...
like I said, twice before now, Shalita Grant got a better sendoff written for her character, and she'd only been with NCIS: NOLA for something like 4 seasons... I know she wasn't particularly popular with some viewers, but she didn't bother me all that much...
so, I guess what I'm trying to say is I won't really miss PP or Abby, but I do think the lack of "sendoff storyline" for the 15 season character is piss-poor on the part of the writers and everyone else involved in the production of NCIS - - and that goes especially for Mark Harmon!
hope that clarifies my "concern"...
